CANADIAN INVASION @ THE ASYLUM II: ELECTRIC BOOGALO PPV 2022

BEFORE:

"She's elite," says Laura with a smile. "No doubt about that. But, what people forget is, so am I. Yes. Still. And, tonight, I'm going to prove it."

"Listen," says Chloe with a smile of her own, "She's FAR from over the hill. She can beat people. Just not THIS person."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Dance With Me' by Mandy Mapes, from the movie 'Coffee Shop', and here comes the star of that film, Foxfire's Laura Vandervoort!"

McCarthy: "Wait a minute...I was UP for that role! How did SHE get it! Siri! Call my agent!"

Tess: "HERE we go..."

McCarthy: "Shut UP, Walmart!"

O'Dell: "Drink up, boys, and drink in the lovely Laura as she's helped off with the robe by the Foxfire corner crew to reveal a scarlet number that has the crowd buzzing..."

McCarthy: "VOICEMAIL! YOU'D BETTER CALL ME BACK YESTERDAY YOU HACK!"

Cassie: "Could someone remind Mac that we're actually doing a BROADCAST here..."

O'Dell: "Aaannnddd, that's..."

McCarthy: "AN ASSAULT ON MY OLFACTION!"

O'Dell: "Nice of you to rejoin us, Mac. That's 'Uh Oh' and the singer of that tune, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet, is on her way to the ring..."

Tess: "Bennet right in the thick of the title picture, where she's been the last several years."

Cassie: "No doubt, and, to stay there, she needs to get a result tonight."

O'Dell: "Bennet into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that blue number we've seen before, and, the ladies are about ready. Time for some picks. Tess likes Chloe. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Vandervoort's no cupcake. Laura!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Here we go. Ladies want to get their box on early, and it's Chloe who's getting off first. Bennet putting punches together, backing the blonde up with some hard shot. Bennet really getting into rhythm here quickly. She's got Laura on the back foot already..."

Cassie: "And, you're seeing why Wiz says CHLOE is our best fighter..."

Tess: "Touche', BFF..."

O'Dell: "Laura getting off in spots here, but that's all she can manage. Bennet's not only putting punches together well, she's got some serious suppressive fire going, keeping Vandervoort from getting her own offense going. Laura backed up again by a nice flurry from Bennet..."

McCarthy: "Laura will be fine. She's a veteran and a good fighter. Not quite in MY class, but, still..."

O'Dell: "We're down to fifteen seconds in the first, and, if Laura's going to get going, it's not going to happen this round. Chloe another sharp flurry, forces the older woman to cover up and there's the bell. Super start for Bennet, who takes the first wide and grabs the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Laura changing tactics in the second. She's coming forward and crowding Chloe now, boxing on the inside, working a little body, but mainly going upstairs. Bennet giving some ground, wants to get range, but Vandervoort not allowing it. She's staying right in the brunette's grill..."

Cassie: "Interesting tactical decision here..."

O'Dell: "Not sure this is sustainable long term. I don't think you want to be six inches from Chloe's nose unless you're a pressure fighter...and maybe not even then, but this has certainly changed the dynamic, as now, it's Bennet who's on the defensive and the blonde who's in control..."

McCarthy: "This is what I was saying last round. Laura's fine. Just needed a little time to figure things out."

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch, and Vandervoot has, indeed, figured it out. She's gotten much the better of things in this stanza. GOOD right from Laura there, best punch of the fight for either fighter so far, and there's the bell. Excellent stuff from Vandervoort, who takes it wide."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Chloe moving the feet now, looking to get space with lateral movement. Laura willing to play this game. She's moving with, looking to square and get off. And, we're seeing some excellent two-way boxing now, as both of these ladies have plenty of skill in this department..."

Tess: "Laura showing plenty of hand speed here."

O'Dell: "Sure is, and plenty of that Vandervoort slickness we've seen for years around the FCBA. I sometimes wonder what she might have accomplished if she'd spent her entire career at bantamweight rather than trying her luck with the bigger girls at lightweight...

McCarthy: "I can answer that. I think she'd have been a top-level bantam. Again, not quite at MY level, but close..."

O'Dell: "Twenty seconds to go in a very closely-fought third round. Good combination Chloe, and Laura fires right back with one of her own. Punches flying late as both fighters look to steal the points in this round and there's the bell. Very, very close. But, it's Laura who takes the points..."

Cassie: "And takes the 29-28 lead."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Ladies right back to boxing as we start the fourth. Not surprised we're on these terms, because both blonde and brunette are plenty good at this. Canadian a nice flurry right there, but the American fires back with one of her own. Ladies circle, probe, reset..."

Cassie: "Lots of movement here, and not just the feet. Head. Hands out and back quickly..."

O'Dell: "Definitely a fight the purists would love right now, as plenty of skill being shown both on offense and defense as punches are blocked and slipped. But, plenty of accurate leather getting through as well, and, for the second round in a row, there's not much in it at all..."

Tess: "Despite both women working very hard."

O'Dell: "No doubt about that. Plenty of activity for both Canadian and American, but they're fighting on very even terms right now. We're down to just ten seconds remaining in the fourth. NICE combination by Chloe and once again Laura answers right back and there's the bell. Close. Vandervoort."

McCarthy: "And, Laura pushes her lead to 39-37."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Pattern set as we move into the fifth. Ladies boxing at range. Both getting work done. Nobody able to take control, because both fighters are showing plenty of the slicks and the quicks. Laura a little more effective defensively, slipping and blocking better. Chloe a bit more accurate with the leather..."

McCarthy: "Laura doing a good job with that left..."

O'Dell: "Sure is. When she gets that on, she's able to follow with good right hands, and she's getting it on consistently. Chloe, meanwhile, in a pretty good rhythm of her own. She's putting punches together, landing solid shot. Nobody hurt, but everybody taking plenty of leather..."

Tess: "Just really good stuff from both..."

O'Dell: "Absolutely. Two very good bantams doing what they do, and they have only twenty-five seconds left to do it in the fifth. Sharp exchange and then another. Ladies circle, then reset. Bennet popping the jab, lands a solid right hand and there's the belll. Close again. Chloe."

Cassie: "And, Bennet cuts Laura's lead to 48-47."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Into the sixth now, with the ladies still working at range. Lots of accurate leather flying as first the blonde and then the brunette gets off in combination. And, as we've been since the second round, we're on fairly even terms and BENNET ROCKS LAURA WITH A RIGHT HAND!"

Cassie: "NASTY!"

O'Dell: "Absolutely was! A perfectly-timed right and Laura's legs give a shimmy and now Chloe's all in to try to end this thing. Canadian giving ground before a TERRIFIC onslaught by the American and THERE'S A SHORT RIGHT HOOK AND DOWN GOES VANDERVOORT! And, that was JUST as nasty..."

Tess: "May not be getting up from that..."

O'Dell: "Laura down on her right side. Chloe to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Laura rolls to her belly at six. Seven. Pushing to hands and knees at eight. Nine. TEN! IT's OVER! Laura still on all fours as the count passes her by and it's OVER! And your winner by KO6 is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

McCarthy: "Just. Got. Lucky!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe, an excellent fight..."

Chloe (nodding): "Yeah. And, not surprised. Laura's very slick. Knows what she's doing. You can't get away with the stuff you can against some girls when you're in with a veteran like her. It wasn't easy. Knew it wouldn't be. But, I got it done."

Tess (smiling): "And, you make a HABIT of doing that..."

Chloe (grinning): "Not bad for the THIRD best fighter in my stable..."

Tess (laughing): "Here we go. So, what's next for you?"

Chloe: "The plan is to get those belts back. And, anything that gets me closer to a title shot, that's what I'll be doing."
