Before: Wilson coming off a couple of hard luck scrapes against fellow lanky-bodies - Johnson couldn't be more different: short, slick, busy. Blonde incensed at the close line on this fight, "Since when is Amy Jo in my league?" AJJ in purple diving bikini, yellow panels on the sides, Bridgitte in red and white striped string bikini.

During R1: Wilson laying down a stiff jab, keeping the short brunette off her body. Johnson moving her head, changing directions outside avoids punishment - girls negating each other in a difficult to score first.

R2,3: Amy Jo trying to bob inside, getting there on occasion and putting swabbing punches together to the trunkline. Wilson clinching whenever Amy gets past the jab, then back on the stick, stabbing and poking the left out hard and straight. Wilson dominating territorially - Johnson unhurt, but unable to fight her fight for the most part.

R4: Amy Jo opening up, springing out of her crouch to try to sweep looping punches to the blonde's startled face. Some early clouts have Wilson leaning backward awkwardly, wide eyed at the little brunette's ferocity. Wilson restablishes control in the final minute, stepping in with a piledriver jab, then jerking away to avoid receipts.

R5: Wilson's heavy stick starting to puff Johnson up - Bridgitte really committing on the punch, getting her body behind jabs, using those long legs to lean in and away from the shorter woman. Down the stretch, Johnson looks a little shaken - she's rejected hard from coming inside, staggering backwards with her hands down, and Wilson arches in over the top with a lunging right cross to the face, putting Amy Jo on her back in a heartbeat. Johnson beats the count, but she's not the same fighter - stumbling back to her corner at the break with a bleeding nose.

R6: Wilson on her girl with that jab, using her reach exquisitely to pick Amy apart. Johnson fatigued, moving her head late, getting nicked up, and Bridgette's dropping the right cross with some authority this round. Johnson shutout, starting to swell nastily around the eyes.

R7: Wilson wheeling and dealing comfortably, she has her girl broken down and almost helpless. Bridgette able to poke the long left in on Amy's face at will - brunette still moving her head, but Wilson has her rhythm. A few jolting lefts set up a spearing right - Johnson's head routinely snapping hard to the right as Wilson leans into the bombs. Another bruising shutout - Amy Jo glassy eyed, stupified after 7 tough rounds - she refuses to quit when queried by the ref in her corner.

R8: Shutout Bridgette Wilson. Heartless, patient precision from the jab - Wilson loose and relaxed, stepping casually to her left, leaning in on her front foot to do damage, then leaning away to avoid Johnson's increasingly erratic responses. Amy Jo's left eye is a swollen mess - and Wilson just keeps on it, pounding away with measured lefts, hard driving right hands on the same spot. All Bridgette Wilson this round and a hard right hand on the eye sends Johnson reeling stupidly to the ropes and the ref steps in. TKO 8 Bridgette Wilson as Johnson sobs her protest, but the ref just shakes his head, waving this one off.

After: Johnson disappointed, but she was just taking shots, staggering around the ring at the end, ref did the right thing. Amy Jo able to get inside some early, but her shoeshing punches not the kind of thing that can wear a boxer down. Unable to contend with Wilson's reach and sticking accuracy, Johnson kept marching out into punishment and probably would have gone the distance if the ref hadn't done his job
