Grinding give and take favours Connelly who doesn't need a map to find Court this round.

R2: Smith faking inside steps out behind a stinging jab and starts to dictate. Connelly wanting to body up, but she's getting picked up by sharp lead rights, biting hooks - Smith stepping to her left rings Jen up repeatedly with disruptive timing. Jen wobbled by a stiff right hand in the first minute, stupefied by a left hook midway through - she's eating Smith's hardest shots early as Court cruises to the shutout.

R3: Connelly executes to perfection - jabbing with Smith to gain entrance, then fighting off the blonde's chest in mouth-on-shoulder slogging. Jen stronger, curling her fists up into Smith's taut gut, rolling her shoulders and bulling the blonde around the ring. Courtney getting banged up in the one-sided action, reaching around Jen's back, trying to slow the brunette down with little success. Good bell to bell pressure round for Connelly, racks up mileage on Courtney's aging legs.

R4: Courtney once again fakes like she's coming inside then steps out with a clouting hook on Jen's wide open jaw - Connelly not expecting the distance. Smith playing Jen, pretending to fall in, then stepping out smart and nailing the brunette, exposes Jen's tactical weakness this round. Midway through - Connelly biting at every lure - Smith jerks the lead right hand into Jen's chin, resets on her back foot and drills the same punch right back in - Connelly rocked, covers up glassy eyed as Smith tunes up. Courtney letting her hands go, stepping back to walk groaning Jen into vicious digs to the stomach, cuffing swats to the ears - Smith turning Jen at the ropes and bodying her into them clubs Connelly into a defensive crouch with slashing lefts and rights at the bell.

R5: Smith sharp shooting now, left hand low, left shoulder turned towards Jen, screening a tightly held right hand at Courtney's jaw. Smith stepping away, walks Connelly into sudden, licking right hands, twisting her body into the straight punches, then recoiling snake like to present that left shoulder once again. Jen landing only glancing, pattycake type punches can't seem to figure out the angle, and the surprising right hands are busting her up as she wades forward.

R6: Connelly showing good determination, bodies up this round and makes Court fight cheek to cheek - Jen can win this type of fight. Back and forth, girls standing in with each other and slugging it up - both very busy with curling blows from up underneath. Courtney just stubborn - she could bounce it outside anytime she wants, but she lays in, trades with the sturdy brunette and holds her own, just to show she can. Good action round gets both girls all lathered up and testy.

R7: Courtney starts to pull away. She's quicker than Connelly, a step ahead tactically - Jen always seems shocked whenever Court pulls the trigger on the lead right or walk-away hook - Connelly lumping up as her face collects Courtney punches like they're valuable coins. Nice sharp, staccato punches, especially from the right side from the blonde, pulling her fists back in tight to keep her range consistent, maintain her defense. Final moments - Jen wearying from the punishment, getting ragged, not moving her head, eats a flush lead right on the eye, Courtney pivoting to her right, jolts the right hand in again from the shoulder and CONNELLY GOES DOWN! Jen wobbly butt at 8, is lucky to hear the bell.

R8: Courtney Thorne Smith rolling up an exhausted and discouraged brunette this round - staying outside, sticking her fists into Jen's face and breasts with a rifling delivery and moving away after she gets off. Brilliant boxing - Court just punishing her foe from outside, blue eyes all bright and eager - hazel eyes lidded and sullen as Connelly soaks up 3 more minutes of destruction.

R9: Smith breaking Jen down in the first minute, stepping to double pump the left to the gut, then stepping out, circling left behind the double jab, stepping in behind the crunching straight right - it's pretty stuff. Connelly swooning by the middle minute as Smith uptempos, and a hard left/right on the chin has Connelly leaning out over her feet in trouble. Smith going to town, puts punches together and beats Jen back across the ring under a brutal stream of curling lefts and rights - head and jugs getting cudgelled. It's becoming a massacre as Connelly's mouthpiece dribbles past slack lips to tumble down her chest - Smith bashing brunette head side to side, putting her shoulder in to prop Jen up, then keeping up the beat. Connelly out on her feet, numbly pushing Courtney back as she sits ropeside - Smith breathing hard, but feeling good - wades back in to keep heaping it onto her wilting foe. AND THE REF STEPS IN! Connelly beaten unrecognizable sags expressionless into the ropes as a fierce Courtney Thorne Smith stomps the ring with angry pride. TKO9 CTS.

After: Smith proves a tough out, landing all the power punches in this one, keeping Jen hurt, wearing her down and in the end, finishing with almost 2 minutes of sustained abuse. Just a masterful performance from one of the treasures of the FCBA - Connelly's new body just not up to the task tonight.
