Before: Theron graciously grants a shot to perennial contender Tia, who really hasn’t done much recently to deserve it. In her prime, Tia a slick boxer puncher with some good wins under her belt—and always a crowd pleaser—but most think Theron’s all; court game will be too much. Charlize in teal beach volleyball 2 piece, new short do—Tia in black and red beach volleyball 2 piece—fought outdoors at the Hollywood Bowl for Theron’s Universal Studio’s featherweight strap.

During R1: A patient, professional Charlize Theron keeps her distance, dictating pace with her legs, touching Carrere with the jab and probing the brunette’s defences. Tia getting outjabbed as Charlize polishes Carrere’s face and circles very efficiently.

R2: Theron’s seen enough, Sweeping the left to screen the straight right, Charlize buckles Tia’s legs with chin music to open the round and never looks back. Crisp banging lefts and rights to the flanks set up a short, clipping right uppercut off Tia’s forehead as the brunette leans forward and Carrere takes a knee. Woozy, hurting, Tia beats the count, and Theron wades in, hammering the body with beefy lefts and rights to fold Tia over, then jerking the short uppercuts from either hand to be offered the face. Tia spills to the mat off a banging right uppercut to her face, and again, beats the count. Carrere glassy eyed, pathetic limbed—good enough for the ref, who allows Theron to wade in like the Terminator, mercilessly pounding at the brunette’s waist until Tia sinks to her knees in agony. Carrere sitting on her haunches, crying, can’t feel her legs, and Charlize Theron struts the ring every inch the champ.

After: Hard to fault this performance as Charlize continues to outclass her opposition. Carrere’s fought tough against the best, but she simply couldn’t take Theron’s punch, and the pathetic sight of her being knocked out to the body makes the cover of everything from Variety to Celebrity Boxing Monthly.
