Pre-fight:

There’s one term floating around the press room for this fight: “confidence booster.”

Everyone knows Elyse went down for the first time in her FCBA career to Billie Eilish, which is nothing to scoff at. Some would even argue she was outboxing Eilish until a single uppercut changed the entire fight. Still, a loss is a loss and with her eyes on the August FCBA Elyse wants to get a few more fights under her belt… mainly a few more “easier” wins.

Enter Milana Vayntrub. With only a singular win to her name and a very recent loss to Rashida Jones, Milana is for all intents and purposes a lamb to the slaughter. Elyse has beaten Bell, McCurdy, and Kendrick. Milana hasn’t come close to looking like she belongs in the same ring as those girls. Everyone is expecting a quick win for Willems, despite her Vayntrub having some size on her.

“Well, as you all know my stablemate Rashida made quick work of her,” says Elyse. “And I don’t mean to brag but I’m clearly the best flyweight in the stable. I mean whenever we spar I come out on top so yeah… I’m feeling pretty good.”

“Billie caught her with an uppercut, I don’t see why I can’t do the same,” says Milana. “She’s alright I guess, but she’s still from the stable that passed me over. Any chance I get to knock around some ‘Comediennes’ I’m going to take it!”

R1: Elyse comes out with a blue sports bra and bright highlighter yellow shorts. Milana going all pink for this match-up.

Coming out of the ring and Elyse is clearly moving better. It’s the best she’s looked. She must have been taking her cardio pretty seriously after getting caught by Billie. She sticks and moves, getting a jab in on Milana and then skirting out of the way of the bigger girl’s counter punches. The blonde glides around the ring. Nailing Milana with jabs at will. The brunette’s head snaps back over and over again. She has no counter for it. Elyse comes in and hits a hook and Milana is staggered!

Elyse comes in. Could she be looking to end it here? She starts to work Milana back towards the ropes, nailing the body and following up with a beauty of a right cross to Milana’s jaw. The darker haired girl is in big trouble early. She throws a “get me out” hook that Elyse has to tense up to block. Milana gets off the ropes and gets some distance but not before Elyse is all over her again. The Canadian peppers her opponent with a litany of jabs, marking her up and down. She hits another right cross and steps in, looking once more to end this.

But a little too predictable there as Milana counters with a right cross of her own. Now it’s Willems who is brushed back. Milana blocks a jab and fires off two brutal hooks to Elyse’s ribs. The bell rings just as Milana starts to get her footing.

Elyse takes the round with a convincing 10-9 despite a late surge by Milana.

R2: The next round starts similar to the first. Elyse coming out with some improved footwork and movement. She skirts around Milana, dancing as she continues to land that jab. But all of a sudden Milana lands a brutal left hook that knocks Elyse to the side!

Elyse’s eyes go wide as she gets met with a right-handed uppercut that sneaks under her guard and bangs into her stomach. She feels her knees go wobbly and simply throws her arms around Milana. The crowd can’t believe it. They’re on their feet. The ref comes in to break up the clinch and Milana slams a left cross to Elyse’s cheek.

The Comedienne, who looked so dominant early in the first round, looks like she might be he one getting knocked out now. Milana forces Elyse into a corner and the blows to the blonde’s petite body makes the crowd groan. She hammers uppercuts into Elyse’s stomach, lifting her off her feet and doubling her over. Instead of going for a big shot to the head Milana pushes Elsye against the corner and straightens her up. Then she doubles her over again with another gut-punch. Milana almost pins Elyse to the corner, refusing to pull her hand away. Would Willems go down if she did? Nobody knows as the bell rings and saves Willems from a brutal beatdown in round two.

Milana takes that one wide on the verge of a shutout. We’re tied 19-19.

R3: Elyse comes out much more cautious now. The last time she faced someone who had such a large power advantage she winded up defenseless on the ropes. Meanwhile Milana smells blood and wants to end Elyse here and now.

Willems moves slower than the previous two rounds but she’s able to duck a few wild haymakers from Milana. Elyse’s plan is now a simple one: wait out Milana. Let her punch herself out and counter when she can. It ends up making a pretty dull round. Neither girl hits each other much. Milana clearly the aggressor but only lands a smattering of significant shots. Elyse meanwhile keeps moving and countering with her jab. It’s her bread and butter after all.

Milana can’t capitalize on a dominant second round and Elyse is more than happy with a stalemate at the end of the round.

Still tied, now 29-29.

R4: Elyse is ready to employ the same strategy as last round, but she sees Milana’s punches losing speed. Round four and she’s already drained…

Elyse employs effective counter-punching techniques. Milana is telegraphing her punches from a mile away that even a rookie like Elyse can read her like a book.

Right hook, duck and stick her in the ribs. Left uppercut, scoot to the side and throw a quick one-two to the face.

Milana is looking gassed at this point. She stops throwing punches and instead starts eating them. Elyse rocks back and gets a clean right hook on Milana. The bigger girl not willing to get backed up to the ropes, but Elyse keeps the pressure on. It starts to get ugly as Elyse’s gloves flash like lightning bolts, hammering Milana up and down. She dodges whenever Milana attempts to throw anything and counter-punches gorgeously. If she fought like that against Billie she would have won!

Milana tries to go for a clinch, but Elyse is actually able to side-step and hit Milana with a right cross. She looks hurt so Elyse steps in. It’s dangerous with Milana’s power advantage, but Elyse thinks she’s drained her enough.

The two begin to trade blows and Elyse realizes after the second right hook she eats that Milana’s power is not zapped at all. In fact, it seems as if Milana was simply allowing Elyse to take that round in order to regain some energy. Now that she’s in close though, Milana gets another uppercut under Elyse’s defenses and once more lifts her off her feet. The bell rings and as Elyse staggers over to her corner it becomes clear that she didn’t do nearly as much damage with a litany of punches than Milana did with one.

Still, the blonde landed a lot more so she squeaks out the round. 39-38 Willems.

R5: Milana bolts out of her corner and lands a massive right cross that carries Elyse backwards. Then a left cross that knocks her momentum the other way. Then a right uppercut to the naval that once more doubles Elyse over. Milana lifts her left glove and snaps it down onto Elyse’s jaw.

Elyse falls flat face-first into the canvas. The entire arena is in shock. She’s got to be out cold. She has to be after that! The ref rushes over as Milana backs off. The count begins but somehow Elyse begins to stir. She pushes herself onto all fours and gets up when the ref is at seven. She beats the count.

Her consolation prize: A ravenous raging Milana who bangs another shot into Elyse’s torso. The blow knocks Elyse into the corner. She tries to escape to the left but Milana literally puts her glove on Elyse’s bicep and pushes her one-handed back into the corner. The petite blonde slams hard shoulder-first into the corner as she lets out a yelp of pain that’s drowned out by the sound of Milana’s gloves smacking her body.

Milana beats Elyse senseless. Brutally she eviscerates her body until Elyse simply can’t defend herself anymore. The ref steps in and it’s an absolute mercy as Elyse looked completely lost. She drops down to her knees and then face-first onto the canvas. Milana turns and raises her gloves in victory.

Winner: Milana Vayntrub TKO Round 5

Post-fight:

Milana pushes past the ref and throws her gloves to the canvas. She takes hold of Elyse’s head and flips her over onto her back before dragging her hair-first to the middle of the ring.

“I’ve got a gift for you!” Milana says to a half out of it Elyse.

Tugging on the bottom of her sports bra to expose a bit more cleavage, Milana leans in and buries Elyse’s face in it. The Comedienne all but disappears in Milana’s rack until she goes completely limp. Milana, now straddling Elyse, simply flexes her bicep and kisses it before letting Elyse drop back down completely in snoozeville.

You’ve never seen a fighter in as much shock as Elyse Willems. She can’t even raise her arms enough to get on her robe. Her torso has already started to form purple and brown bruises. She was on the receiving end of a beatdown and she knows it.

“I… don’t… know,” pretty much sums up all of a shell-shocked Elyse’s answers.

Milana meanwhile meets everyone with a smirk and a shrug. Her body is free of any significant bruising or marks.

“What can I say?” Milana says. “She thought I was going to be an easy win but it turned out to be the opposite. I’m barely even sweating! All of those girls she beat, it means nothing. Because they didn’t have any tape on her. Now? She’s exposed. And I think I exposed her way more than Billie did. I mean Billie out powered her, sure, but I out powered and out boxed her. Maybe she can go back to the Comediennes where she’s supposedly the best. I think I proved they made a huge mistake passing on me after destroying their bright and shiny star. Well, she’s a falling star now. And I’m back on the rise!”
