Before: Sporty little Europeans meet for the first timer at St. Tropez. Weisz (“The Mummy’) best known for handing put shocking beating to Geri Halliwell, while d’Abo has flitted in and out of the celeb boxing scene for years. Both with nimble, quick-fisted styles, lacking in one punch--Weisz the younger of the two. D’Abo in black bandeau bikini, Rachel in red push-up bikini.

During R1: Maryam showing good hand and foot speed, dismantles Rachel somewhat in a series of slapping exchanges that see the blonde get off first and last. D’Abo  with a cute knack of pushing the left in to block, smacking Rachel’s face or chest with a chopping right, then coming back with the hook.

R2: Rachel switches focus, slipping the blonde’s jab, dipping in and lifting her fists into Maryam’s ribcage. Pays off early as Weisz buckles Maryam’s legs, and forces the blonde into a panicky clinch, Rachel dominating the rest of the way inside, using her left to hold the blonde about the waist, while scrubbing inside with the right to the midriff.

R3: Two-way action erupts as first Maryam has her way, then Rachel roars back as tempers flare. Both girls shoe shining their combinations, drubbing their fists back and forth across opponent’s face or chest. D’Abo a little busier, out hustles Rachel in a series of toe to toe exchanges all around the ring.

R4: Rachel committing to the body, realizing that d’Abo’s slapping shots aren’t damaging. Weisz walks through the blonde’s pesky jab to dig into the belly. Weisz dipping and coming up with her body behind the shots, has d’Abo hurt early, and pours it on as she sees Maryam wilt. D’Abo going shaky, clinching around Rachel’s arms, backpedaling and flailing away from the ropes as Weisz pursues her solar plexus with single-minded determination. Weisz shaking off the blonde’s punches, zeroes in on the sternum, bouncing her fists over and over on the same spot as d’Abo crumbles. Midway through the round--Maryam is helpless as Rachel pulls the blonde’s arms out of the way and bangs relentlessly to the body. D’Abo spitting out her mouthpiece, slides to her haunches in agony, crying piteously on the canvas on the canvas as Weisz lifts her mitts in triumph. KO4 Rachel Weisz.

After: The usually durable d’Abo gets jack hammered into a stoppage as the usually light punchig Rachel turns puncher. Boxing had been going the blonde’ way--Wsesiz showing good judgment in trying to mix things up.
