Before: Dani refusing to take a soft optional defence, faces a strong young challenger in her prime—interpreted by some as a deliberate slap in the face to more cautious lightweight champs. Daniel off a steamy beatdown of Stacey Kamano and trumpeting her cause in pre-fight—she can box, but is double tough inside as well—hard nut for Dani to crack. On the other hand, Daniel loves the body, but the shorter Fishel is hard to get consistently down there. Challenging fight all around.

Dani in teal sports bra, grey aerobics brief, Brittany in leopard print bikini, wooden circlet connecting the cups.

Diring R1: Dani ramming her face into Brittany’s shoulder at the onset, blistering to and fro sees champ budge challenger step by step to the ropes where the fight really begins in earnest. Brittany setting up to counter punch, right elbow creeping down to protect her ribs, left hand across her belly, counting on head movement, shoulder rolls and cuteness inside to protect her skull. Dani crouching, leaning forward, keeping her hands on Brittany’s shoulders, head on Brittany’s collar bone and jerking away to the body and chi with crisp, clouting blows. Daniel very sick, parrying a lot of shots, blunting others and answering back with clean digs to the flanks, bending side to side as she slips into Dani’s body. Both girls grinning at the bell, sensational work ethic from both in a close round.

R2: Dani the aggressor once again—Brittany accepting Dani on her upper chest, then looking to roll and counter—savage pace being set by a determined champion. Daniel’s back on the ropes seems like a mistake, but she’s catching Dani in between punches and scoring clean. Fishel ignoring the damage, pouring on the hurt herself and sheer volume starts to pay off for her as well. Both girls bashing each other to the jawline and ribcage—sensational clouting blows, non-stop punching—Fishel busier, probably scoops the round by a narrow margin.

R3: SPECTACULAR toe to toe exchanges, girls getting off in turns, bashing punches splattering off shoulders, burying into ribcages, bouncing off skulls in shattering action. Daniel off the ropes now and stepping around her girl, dipping her shoulders and really sinking in with shooting rights or reaching left hands to Dani’s stocky waist. Body punches hard enough to stop Fishel from punching on occasion, and as she leans forward, Brittany’s picking her up with tight little left uppercuts and hooks. Signs of bustage on Dani’s face after 3—Brittany timing the champ well, scoring clean, hurtful blows to edge ahead on the cards.

R4: Shutout Dani Fishel. Just as it looks like Brittany’s got Fishel’s number, Dani picks up the pace and overwhelms the blonde at the ropes. Daniel composed, rolling, picking off shots, nudging Dani off her with the shoulder—but Fishel doing all the punching this round. Fishel starting to land that cuffing left to the ear, left hook to the sternum that has Brittany pouting on occasion.

R5: Brittany so compact and cute with her punches, Dug in at the ropes, she closes up her stance and rolls with a Fishel overhand right, then answers back with a tight right uppercut—all shoulder and hips behind the punch. Dani getting rocked, but unrelenting, continues to press her face and mitts onto her opponent, pawing, cuffing, little touches to set up booming hooks to the breadbasket or clocking right hands over the top. Down thr stretch, girl punching in tandem—Dani’s right hand pounds mouth to beat Brittany’s uppercut—blonde stunned, sinks into the ropes and takes a dreadful beating in the finasl seconds as Fishel bashes away to the ribs, Daniel wincing on her stool—she won’t fully recover during the break.

R6: Mark of a champion—fighting when hurt. Brittany digs in, waves Dani on inside and goes to war with Fishel shoulder to shoulder. Brittany clipping her shots—all legs and shoulder as she pumps right uppercuts, fishhooking Dani’s breasts and tapping hard to the chin. Dani equally economical—she’ll twist to the right, pulling the right hand across Brittany’s cheekbone—no backswing on the punch, all body. Then it’s back the other way, similar short cudgeling blow as Daniel acceopts face punches without flinching. By the final minute, Brittany’s chopped Dani up with counters and has Fishel backing up—all Brittany as she reaches down and sinks into that underbelly with juicy lefts and rights at the bell.

R7: Both girls wearing down badly, achy and hurt during the breaks, but focused on total victory. Slamming together midring behind simultaneous right hands, girls continue the murderous trade of the previous 6 heats—Dani initiating, Brittany picking spots, landing a higher percentage through throwing less. Daniel stepping out on Dani to walk Fishel into trouble—Brittany shooting a nice, loose limbed right hand to the body has Dani groaning, doubling up slightly, and unable to punch. Down the stretch, Daniel pivoting, fitting in that right hand behind Dani’s elbow—Fishel unraveling slightly and Brittany sells the right, shifts into a tight left hook behind the ear and FISHEL GOES DOWN! Dani bluffed and suckered, hops sideways and falls to all fours as Daniel glares triumphantly. Fishel beats the count, but she is dazed—on comes Brittany with 45 seconds to work. Horrific beating up against the ropes as Daniel puts punches together, ripping into Dani’s stout belly, shouldering up then pumping right uppercuts close. Fishel all busted up, sagging on the ropes at the bell.

R8: Mark if a champion—Dani fighting hurt, and hammering out a blistering shutout to boot. Daniel can’t get out of her corner—Fishel charging the mound, tackling Brittany to the turnbuckles and ravaging her with a Gatling gun assault. Daniel shriveling up, putting her face behind her gloves and starting to soak up lavish blasts to either floank—Dani with her chin over Brittany’s left shoulder, hands low at either side, just using her left shoulder and batting strokes from either hand to prop and bash her foe. Daniel going wobbly butt in the final minute, out on her feet—she clinches up head and arm on Dani to keep from going down at the bell.

R9: Exhausted, battered warriors dig down and give the fans some outrageous Ward/Burton type stuff this round. Dani fighting off Brittany’s chest, riding her hand on Brit’s shoulder stuffing and cramming lefts into the ribs and stomach inside. Daniel shoving off her shoulder, rolling side to side and slashing away to the body and face of her foe with devastating counters—Fishel’s head rocking and snapping side to side as Brittany bends into the blows. Hard, hard punching continues unabated to the bell—both girls fielding savage blows to chin and body, but refusing to give an inch. Fanatastic stuff.

R10: Brittany Daniel closes the show. She discourages Dani in the opening moments with crisp rolls and counters—Fishel missing half a dozen wide swings and paying for each and every one, then Brittany starts budging her backward with the shoulder. Working out of her closed stance, Daniel picks Dani apart—clean left uppercuts, left hooks on the eye, shooting right hands to that hurting left side—Fishel grimacing as her butt touches ropes. Daniel handing out a beat down in the final minute—Fishel stubbornly pushing her hands out, trying to punch but simply enable to land as she is timed to second by a very crisp Daniel. At the bell, battered vixens fall into an impromptu hug—they’ve shared something special in the ring tonight. Comes back UD10 by narrow one point margin, for the winner and NEW bantamweight champion—Brittany Daniel!

After: Dani’s face somber, but she claps taped hands as the decision is announced—shame somebody had to win a crowd pleasing war like this. Sportswomanship for Brittany lasts only until the cameras close up to her, “That’s the end of the Dani Fishel era,” proclaims Daniel. “I can’t see her ever being the same after a beating like she took tonight. I can’t believe the scoring! I mauled Dani Fishel every round, had her down in the seventh—I was controlling the action, making her miss, and the judges had me pulling it out in the tenth, And speaking of the TENTH…”on and on—suffice it to day, Brittany Daniel VERY satisfied with her performance. Both women badly, badly beaten in this fight—neither can truly claim dominance despite Daniel’s bold remarks.
