2. Emma Watson vs Shenae Grimes

Emma:

(30, 5’6, 40:26 FCBA, VIXENs)

Shenae:
(31, 5’3, 9:7 FCBA, Free Agent)

BEFORE:
“That loss to Ronan certainly rocked the boat, didn’t it?” Emma Watson says with a short laugh, making fun of herself earlier at the press junket.

With the recent release of BWO’s rankings, our sources have it that Watson in particular was especially shocked when she found out backstage that her loss to the blonde Irishwoman had thrown out of the top ten of the FCBA Flyweight rankings.

“One small stumble and they’re done with you, I guess. While Lily and Megan are getting all the glory in recent days, I’m certainly not planning on being discounted. Put it this way: we’ve ALL won the Flyweight title belt before. We’ve also all LOST to dear Olivia Holt at some point in our careers, so I really don’t see what the fuss is with them having the spotlight over me.”

“Maybe it’s because you just aren’t as good, dearie?” Shenae Grimes cuts in from the side of the room, drawing an immediate glare from Watson’s corner. “That loss to Saoirse was embarrassing. Plain and simple, and to be honest, watching that fight and poorly you did was part of the reason why I signed up to be your next opponent for tonight: I’m gonna kick Hermione’s ass and then plant a foot down into her face. Imagine the headlines tomorrow!”

Shenae is definitely full of that American cockiness, and she pretty much repeats the same points for the rest of the press conference. It’s entirely true on the other hand that our dear Emma Watson is the more than civilised compared to some of the other VIX Flyweights, but don’t let that creampuff exterior fool you - Emma’s sporting a constant narrowing of those thick, bushy eyebrows as she stares Grimes down at the podium, though Shenae can still be heard laughing back every step of the way, clearly not taking the Vixen seriously.

Emma’s three-inch height advantage could be used to win her comeback match tonight, but Shenae is also looking toned and ripped for someone who just turned 31. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens! The girls break apart without further incident, with Emma’s offer of a handshake immediately laughed off by Grimes, who turns her back and marches straight for the locker room.

Later on, Emma’s back to her sweet-neutral expression as she enters the arena first, holding up a pair of red gloves, the rest of her body wrapped in a white-red sports bra and black boxing trunks. Shenae’s entrance is slightly flashier as she strides onto stage with her brown hair messed up and frayed on either side of her narrow face, dark eyeshadow applied as she shadow boxes in a pair of yellow gloves. The American marches down to the ring in a sparkling denim vest and simple but sexy black bikini briefs, later removing her jacket top to reveal a similar-coloured bikini bra she plans on fighting in.

Referee calls this match to order, spouting the rules between the two ladies, and then earning the nods after either girl is sent back to their corners. Both Emma and Shenae are getting into their fighting stances as he finally waves for the bell to start - HERE WE GO with ten rounds of Flyweight action!

ROUND 1:
Shenae wants to make a statement early, rushes in and starts swinging away at Emma Watson to kick off this Flyweight battle. Grimes no doubt has some baggage she wants to get off her chest, battering the Vixen’s arms with combo after combo after combo sent in early, wanting to show that height ain’t gonna be a factor in this fight if she can get in close and beat on the Brit so easily. Emma forced on the defense, grunting as her body takes a couple of meaty smacks to the side from the constant barrage, but for the most part, keeps moving herself backwards and allowing Shenae to swing and miss more than score on her frame. Emma occasionally opts to hold her ground and pack in a glove of her own into Shenae’s chin from the side and down the middle, but Grimes just seems fueled by adrenaline this early on, landing twice as many punches as she takes, and the end result is Emma looking completely bullied by the time the bell rings.

ROUND 2:

Emma’s more comfortable in her role as defender by the second round, moving cautiously to the side and back and anticipating Grimes’ rapid rush a second time round. When it comes, the first flurry to her arms is taken easily in her stride before she counter-fires an overhand right to the middle of Grimes’ face, drawing a bewildered grunt from the American actress! Ouch! Grimes doesn’t realise she’s taking return fire like this until it’s too late, keeps rushing in and swinging at Emma’s head, hoping to score an early knockdown on the Brit, but instead gets her head turned to the side or chin sent up as Watson counter-attacks with finesse and precision she’s known for, a third such bash to the cheek drawing a loud cheer from her fans in the rafters as Emma finally stops her attacker in her tracks! Grimes looks groggy for a second as she goes stumbling off to the side from that punch, but quickly reorientates herself before the bell rings.

ROUND 3:
Shenae, to her credit, is still filled with plenty of energy, coming in yet again with renewed aggression. She’s been chided by her corner in between rounds to better pick and choose her attacks wisely, and that’s exactly what she does, only letting her punches fly forth when she senses an opening in Emma’s guard. This way, Grimes scores a nice, lunging uppercut to the actress’ body in the middle of the first minute, cutting Watson in half with a grunt and threatening to break open the rest of her defensive arms. Emma’s stunned but not out, however, quickly moving backwards to create distance before absorbing more follow-up jabs from Shenae, who gives chase. Later, Emma pays her opponent back with a left hand feint upwards to her head, with her right hand swung low into the side of her abdomen, drawing a lurch and grunt from Grimes’ lips instead. Overall, a close round for either girl, but Grimes is gonna take it due to her earlier action.

ROUND 4:
Emma’s strength has always been in stark contrast to some of her fellow Vixens, choosing the slow and steady approach and allowing her opponents to make the mistakes for her. Grimes looks hurt and winded after taking too many unexpected counter-shots to her midsection and chin, already looking a little wobbly as she comes forward to clash in the fourth. Emma’s jabbing at her head with caution, thinking first this lethargy might all be a ruse to draw her in, but a fast one-two combo that scores off the top of Shenae’s head seems to confirm her suspicions that Grimes is about ready to go down. Emma presses in bit by bit, rocking the shorter girl’s arms at the end of another jab-jab-hook combo that sends Grimes stumbling to the side further, with the occasional straight hand driven into her tummy for punctuation. Grimes in trouble, getting taken apart piecemeal as she takes yet another crosshand right between the eyes, another fast one sunk into her lips with an UGHH! Emma leaps in for the kill with a third straight kisser to the kisser, and DOWN GRIMES GOES, the American getting FLOORED onto her back, just lying there, spread-eagled and looking up at the stadium lights! Referee starts the count but it ain’t no use, with Grimes barely able to lift her head or turn over, having no choice but to be first-hand witness to his arms waving her chances off above her head! It’s OVER!!

Official Decision: Emma Watson defeats Shenae Grimes via KO4!

AFTER:

Not the most seminal win for Watson, but it’s a victory Emma relishes for the moment, skipping back to her corner and beaming from cheek to cheek, ecstatic that that one recent loss to Ronan wasn’t meant to be a trend. To hear from her say it firsthand, the Vixen may or may not be considering a second title run sometime in the near future. For now, Emma’s just satisfied with being Emma:

“Life’s good. I’m taking the victories as they come. Grimes, to her credit, fought like a wolverine in there, but you don’t tangle with a venomous cobra,” Emma says with a wink.

Meanwhile, Grimes back to contemplating her life choices, an early loss at the start of this year to Emilia Clarke now extended to yet another Brit - when will the American catch a break of her own?

“She got lucky,” Grimes griping later after she recovers enough to speak to reporters. Her hair is still messy and frayed, now streaked with sweat. “I’ve beaten her kind before - cocky and full of it. Give me another shot in the future and I guarantee to beat her ass.”
