Before: "No offence to Eliza, Kelly, Neve and Dani," says bantam champ Kaley C in prefight, "but Jolene Blalock's my biggest threat at 120. No one else in the division really has a punch I need to respect, but everyone knows Jolene can end your night in a heartbeat. Her weakness is durability - I'll chip away at her early, frustrate her spirit and tire her legs - once we get to the 5th and 6th rounds, it'll be less about what she's going to do and more about what I can do. I'll take her out to deep water and work her over late in the fight - as long as I don't take any stupid chances in the first half, I'll control this girl."

Blalock scoffing at the notion of Kaley outlasting her. "Everybody's so concerned about my punch, they forget about this (stands, pulls up the bottom of pale blue tank top to reveal chiselled abs, marble-hard ribs). I'm the best conditioned athlete in boxing - no way a soft blonde takes me deep and drowns me. I see Kaley leaving the ring on a stretcher - early or late. How's that for a shrewd fight-plan, boys?"

Kaley in white bra style bikini, floral print, white shoes and socks - blonde-tousled Jolene in grey cotton sports bra, navy cotton bottoms with white waistband, white shoes and socks.

During R1: Kaley brisk, scooting to her left around a spitting brace of jabs body and head. Blalock the cobra - weight on right foot, staying tall, leaning back just enough to make Cuoco's stick fall short, turning gently to keep Kaley in front of her. Blalock more economical, relying on a rifling, heavy jab to answer Kaley's jab-clusters. Jolene stepping in wide, slinging the hook, pivoting left - not catching Cuoco flush but getting plenty of respect as Kaley bounces to her left to ride out the shots. Blalock the boss, making the fight - Cuoco just negotiating distance with her legs this round.

R2: Kaley committing her jab to Jolene's body - wants to be there every few seconds, stab-and-scoot harrassing attacks. Blalock patient, rotating, eyes intent - very tactical stuff as wary blondes settle into jittery cat and mouse. Cuoco the boss this round, establishing to the body, looking to snap-hook up top off the stick and ALWAYS circling to keep Jolene from locking-on.

R3: Jolene tracking well with her stick - rifling shot loud against Kaley's gloves, bashing against the upperchest or left shoulder. Blalock releasing the her first right hands of the fight, grazing Kaley's chin and sending a thrill through the crowd as Cuoco dodges bullets. Kaley's feet more agitated, changing directions, using the entire ring - by the final minute, Jolene's got the champ on the run. Break: Kaley's corner wants her to relax - MOVE, but don't run: can't be forfeiting rounds to Blalock.

R4: Kaley unpacks a nasty little attention-getter of her own - sneaky-slick, very tight right uppercut off the right foot, looking to nip Jolene after she pitches her own right cross. Sharp, muscular punch grazes Blalock's chin early - she's loathe to risk it rest of the round as Cuoco gets respect. Kaley resumes jabbing to body, scoot-pivoting to the left, turning lanky blonde midring. Tactical fight through 4 - girls swapping stanzas, waiting for a mistake from the other.

R5: Kaley diligent with that jab to the body - starting to get reaction from Jolene: grunt, tilt, guard lowering. CUOCO HOOKS CHIN! Hardest punch of the fight - Kaley feinting to the body, jumping in on Jolene's jaw that quick lead hook - Blalock's sinewy legs doing a hurting little jig as she baby-steps for balance. Cuoco patient, walking Blalock down to the ropes, ripping her a right-left to the body, bringing the hands back quick, stalking. Blalock hopping gunshy to her left along the ropes, buying time with her legs - Cuoco shadowing but not pressing hard enough lets the moment pass. Jolene jabbing back in the final minute, forcing Cuoco to midring and redrawing the line in the canvas: Cuoco outside, bobbing and weaving as Blalock seems fully recovered.

R6: Jolene slowly suppressing Kaley's jab with a longer, stronger stick - Cuoco using more head/torso movement, trying weave in and counter rather than leading. Blalock slanting her right hand down into Kaley's body - good spanking contact - like a soccer ball booted off a concrete wall. Kaley hunching over, trying to get underneath the right hands, but Jolene in good position: Blalock mopping up flank with that cranking, lanky hook - starts to put some hard miles on nubile champ's chassis.

R7: Kaley jabbing to body, steps right, feints, steps in a short right hand to jaw/mop up hook to chin and bops back outside as BLALOCK REELS ON THE SPOT! Jolene bug-eyed with hurt, knees locking up, legs threatening to pitch her onto her face - Kaley pounces with a crashing right to the chin, skidding mop-up hook on the forehead and JOLENE GOES DOWN! Blalock crashing to her back all arms and legs - Kaley's quicks finally getting to challenger as JB takes a swaying 8. Kaley crossing the ring but once again laying up - patiently shadowing as crippled Jolene slides to her left. Cuoco jabbing up top to stabilize, then throwing hard right hands against Jolene's flank - good idea, but not intense enough - fabulously conditioned Blalock able to get her bearings, start punching back late. Jolene off the ropes with licking, still-dangerous right and left uppercuts - Cuoco fades, keeps her distance and banks a 10-8 to take a big lead into the championship rounds.

R8: Cuoco stooping, jabbing tummy, worrying it, tapping it and JOLENE NAILS HER! Blalock finally timing Kaley, slices a counter-right to the temple as Cuoco's retracting - unhinging Kaley's legs and sending her on a mad-cow reel across the ring to finally dump to all fours! Glassy-eyed, wobbly-butt 8 Kaley - ON COMES JOLENE! Blalock setting up wide, showing Kaley how to finish: vicious strapping hooks to the waist; whistling right crosses up top; marauding left uppercuts that scythe through chin and follow through past Jolene's right ear. Gut-wrenching, bone-crunching contact - Blalock strapping away, then with the pretty habit of touching both knuckles to Kaley to prop and stabilize her before the next lanky wallop. Cuoco hands at chin, elbows in, bending forward, lolling back, rotating her torso slowly to roll the heat but it's all too much. Kaley hurt to the body, repeatedly chin checked, turns sideways to the ropes and drops to all fours - smoldering Jolene looming over top, hands at her sides, glaring down at Cuoco's glistening-damp back. Cuoco rising at 8, covering up and riding it out to the bell: kid's got moxie as Jolene goes back to her corner scowling.

R9: Jolene on the hunt, steering and guiding Kaley with rifling stick, frightening her with shearing right crosses, gutting her with that lanky, cranking hook underneath. Grazing contact up top, but that body shot is a killer: poor Kaley gasping, stomach muscles bunching up under impact, chassis wrapping around the blow when it gets in just over the hip. Blalock patient, persistent, stalking Cuoco: it's Jolene taking KALEY into deep water and starting to drown the champ.

R10: Pretty move from Jolene first minute: waves a hook at Kaley's torn-up midsection, doesn't really lay it in there, closes up her stance on follow through, then sudden uncoils a right hand clean to Cuoco's chin! Head-snap Kaley - delayed reaction as legs nearly give way - she wanders around with a distraught, lost-little-girl look as Blalock moves in to finish. KALEY WON'T PUNK! Spirited stuff some of the best two-way action of the fight as Blalock stripes Cuoco hard crosses and hooks - Kaley soaks 'em up and answers right back tidy combinations. Cuoco digging up plenty of rib and jug with herky-jerk rights and lefts in tight - Blalock having to slide back to create distance in an attempt to stroke Kaley a fight-ender. Roars to the bell - girls separated: comes back UD10 for the winner and NEW bantamweight champ - Jolene Blalock!

After: Cuoco hollow-eyed - she got a lot of what she wanted tonight, executing the plan well, only to watch it all slip away over the final three heats. Cuoco well ahead after 7, putting Blalock on her back - it looked for all the world like Kaley's pre-fight scenario was playing out.

"She ran out of gas!" beams an exultant, newly crowned Blalock, "I was too strong, too fit, too good when it counted. Let me tell you something: I punked Kaley Cuoco to her body tonight. You know the body that was supposed to wear me down over the long haul? I started ripping her and she was making these 'uhhh!' 'uhhhh!' noises - like she couldn't take it. I give her credit for getting up, but no word of a lie: that's probably the worst I've ever beaten another woman, those last few rounds. Kaley's probably done as a serious contender - you don't just shake off the punishment she took tonight. Not from me you don't."
