Charlize Theron vs. Mary Elizabeth Winstead by simguy ("After" by simgrrl)
Before: MEW keyed up, and not about to back down before The Goddess. "Of course this is a dream come true," Winstead admits at podium, "but don't think that means I'm awestruck. The honest truth is, Charlize Theron is a legend - by far the biggest name I've ever been in with - but she's rusty and probably past her prime. She was huffing and puffing against Swanepoel, and that just makes me hungrier, because I KNOW I can make CT work in this fight. As far as I'm concerned, I'm the first real test Theron's had in her comeback, and I am going to take it TO her!"
Theron non-plussed: she knows every girl in boxing wants to get at her before she finds traction. "I don't know exactly who Marie is," Charlize says, inclining her head as an aide corrects her, "MARY, sorry...but I've been given tape of her, and the parts I saw while I was awake told me she's hell on wheels if girls lay off her. 'Course, I saw her lay down a lot and take some beatings when girls impose will, so I know what to do here. She's young, she's feisty: enjoy her act while you can guys, 'cause you know what I do to chicks like this." Bats eyelashes, draws an elegant finger across a swan's throat to draw the first official fine of her come-back.
CT green bikini; yellow gloves; golden locks drawn into smooth French twist. MEW in bright yellow bikini; black and yellow bumblebee bottoms; black gloves; brown hair loose, sporting brawler's bangs.
During R1: Shorter MEW moving her head, bobbing her way in - she's planting on left leg, straightening up into sweeping hooks she pulls out of her left pocket. CT hands at waist, being limber-waisted: she's leaning back but getting chin-tagged, driven to ropes early. Minute mark - Mary in head first; butting CT in the breasts with her brunette head. Winstead baring teeth; arms chugging; hammeringi flat-knuckle lefts and rights in hup-hup-huping succession to Theron's middle. Grimacing CT clinching behind the elbows; tying up; looking for ref to give her a break. Ref pushes Mary back, but she lunges right back - looping wide haymakers up top; driving her head back into Theron's chest; chugging away downstairs until CT ties her up again. Theron kept back on her heels, driven to the ropes where she gets that fabulous body worked over as Mary just keeps surging in, staying on top of her blonde, smothering her, outworking her, forcing blonde clinch after blonde clinch in a brawling brunette first.
R2: MEW aggressively at Theron again - leaping up out of crouches with hooks off the hip; looping right hands over the top; ducking down to reset the next surge. CT in wide stance, trying to time this crazy stuff...flinching…backing up…trying to stay tall. Charlize darting the left jab; keeping the right in check-reserve. Theron looking to time Winstead for the uppercut coming in, but missing and time after time Winstead is able to land those right hands, driving Charlize ropeside where she gets her butt stuffed into the ropes. Late in the round: another grim assault on CT at the apron - Winstead plowing in with her head hard to chest; forehead pancaking Theron’s breasts; pumpin' in both fists downstairs. Charlize baring teeth, writhing, struggling to tie up the game little brunette. Winstead grunting with the effort of wrestling the taller blonde up top; managing to get her hands free to get in extra punches before ref breaks them. Rope burns on CT's lightly tanned back as she walks to her corner as Winstead’s really scrounging hard for points through two tough rounds.
R3: Same thing again! Winstead effervescent; fighting at a high tempo; she’s more committed than Theron at this point; just driving Theron before her like a cattle dog with a recalcitrant cow. It takes MEW a minute and change, but she again forces Charlize' back onto ropes where it's all Winstead. Theron can’t keep the brunette banshee off her body and Winstead again slamming her head into Charlize’s bosom hard; then sets up shop on her chest; pumping fists ROAMING up and down that long, lanky, blonde body! Theron cranky from abuse - holding Winny with one hand behind the head, swatting her flank the free mitt. Charlize trying to lean back into ropes to make space for her uppercut. Mary clipped and clouted, refusing to give ground just keeps pumping those soul-stealing blows to Theron’s rapidly reddening breadbasket. Mostly she concentrates on that lush middle, but from there Winstead slowly works her way up-torso; clanging away to Theron’s stubborn chin enough times to keep her honest. And nobody takes a punch prettier’n Charlize Theron - head rocked to the side; long blonde hair tossing wildly; eyes closed; lips pursed as she leans upright back over the top rope; long arms extended; open hands pushing at Mary's straining chest. Bell: Winstead still scrabbling for rib-meat...plucky little brunette's just ripped ‘The Golden Goddess’ three straight heats! Theron hearing it during the break, Cat Bell telling her: "Time to put hands on this girl, Char!"
R4: Charlize in wide stance, shunting her weight forward, getting off first via the jab, spreading Mary out. Theron's back (right) heel up off canvas...pushing off strong, pivoting left on her left foot, keeping Winstead outside at last. Winny repulsed time and again - Charlize putting a healthy pink glow on her pretty face with the jab, forcing Mary into stalled-out crouches whence Charlize can get to her with licking right roundhouses to the waist or rigid left uppercuts across the brow of Mary's forward-thrusting face. Charlize making good use of heel-pushes in Mary's shoulders - shoving the brunette back outside whenever she can get inside; steering her. Finally the blonde has her way bell to bell and the bounce in her step as she heads to her corner shows she enjoyed it!
R5: Charlize goes flat footed midring, leaning forward to rip bandy-armed lefts and rights across Mary's waist/ribs. Snatching licks take Winstead's breath away but she presses resolutely forward, clubbing away rights and lefts to the lower body, then comes up to scuff up Charlize’s head-and-shoulders, bludgeoning the blonde into stupor. It’s mindless toe-to-toe stuff with CT forced to arch her back in order to fit healthy left uppercuts between them into Mary's body. Charlize lashing Mary with vicious right hands across the waist while Winstead clobbering CT to both sides of the jaw; stroking her flush but always, MEW goes back to what’s working - banging away downstairs! Brutal back and forth stuff with neither woman backing up until, down the stretch, CT's back again hits ropes and Mary swarm….scourging that curvy tummy! CT mouth-breathing, cupping her hands over Mary's ears; struggling to control her. For her part, Winstead baring her teeth and pounding away to ribs, waist, breasts, with palm-down, curling left/rights. Winstead banging out close points.
BREAK: Happy Foxfire contingent breaks into choreographed, "We dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, dig, the whole day through..." song at ringside; putting frowns on the pro-Charlize contingent from The Academy who huddle to improvise their own (lame) response…Witherspoon leading Benz and Ginny in a "Charlize, Charlize, she’s our girl; if she can’t do it no one can" chant. Foxfire quickly back, "NO ONE CAN!" shuts the older women up.

R6: CT POUNDS in a slick right hand off her jab, punching Mary's head straight back, face tilted up to the ceiling: crowd squeals as Mary's momentarily slobber-knocked! Winstead wobbly butt, but she instinctive brawls her way forward, clinching briefly, then desperately out-slugging CT toe-to-toe as she bundles the taller blonde to the ropes! Ugly, squirming stuff as they stumble, reel and spin along the ropes, both girls gasping and groaning in a catballing, mauling, mutual embrace. Winstead a real bear staying on top, hugging Charlize and bodying her down as necessary, even ignoring ref barked warnings. Theron compressed - often covering up face-in-gloves for long stretches, allowing Mary to lash her with flank-bashing attacks. Mary’s head on CT's guard, digging at the body. Theron trusting her ribcage, sponges it up; pulling Mary into clinches. That single gaudy, pinpoint, powershot gives CT this round, but Winstead dominates the time of possession through six.
R7: Charlize in a wide stance, forward aspect, back heel off canvas as she fires in crisp, sharp, hard jabs. Theron’s left hand spanking Mary's face with gusto; tanned left shoulder rolling muscular with the blows. Theron circling left behind the jab, stopping, reversing, jabbing and circling again - dropping short, straight, rights off the shoulder: Winny busting up as Theron lands with either hand off her front leg. Charlize showing some defense too - loping away from Winstead aggression, turning her, consistent jabbing bringing her brunette back into grudging compliance. Mary can't close with Theron this round and she gets herself pummeled for her trouble in the attempt.
R8: Charlize in ‘relaxed forward aspect’ still pumpin' the stick to Mary - left hand really punishing the plucky brunette ingenue again this round. Winstead staring open-mouthed...her head movement slowing dramatically; reacting late to jabs that again and again bounce off her face. CT's eyes hard as she circles and works - left shoulder launching pounding jabs with her right adding sudden exclamation marks off the shoulder or straight up the middle. Down the stretch, Mary desperately lunges in - a move she’d been successful with earlier - but CT sidesteps left and swipes the left upside Mary's head, spilling Winstead face-first into and between the ropes. Winny gobsmacked, might have gone down but for the support of the middle rope across her chest; righting herself only to find CT squared up and pitching in more punches! Grim payback as Mary’s body sags; butt stuffed between the ropes; face-in-gloves as she sponges up the abuse. Theron baring her teeth, unleashing hellish wide wallops to either flank; buffeting Winstead from one foot to the other. Great paintbrushing haymakers paralyze Mary...she's helpless, unable to move or answer back. Referee stepping in to end it when the bell sounds! Groggy, Mary raises her gloves, shows she’s in control of her faculties, convinces him not to put an end to her night while Theron struts away, both gloves on her hard-working hips.
R9: Winstead back to basics; head smashing into CT's chest like a French soccer player’s. Grimacing Theron breast-butted back into the ropes where she’s forced to buckle up for a hard ride. Bruising shoulder on shoulder trading goes Winstead’s way...Theron hunkering down, crouching forward, butt on middle rope; shoulder in Mary's chest. Charlize picking Mary up with shrugging right uppercuts or short left hooks. Mary, on top, scrounging for points: clawing angry hook after hungry hook across those Theron breasts; shoe-shining them to a high sheen! Not content with jug mugging, Winstead clubs right hands along CT's jaw, a crimson flush filling the space between ear and jaw. Winstead working the flanks, lifting her right elbow to jam in palm-down rights above Theron's left hip. Nasty, bashing stuff from both, but Theron being a little too cute and too patient in the pocket - blocking and rolling effectively, but not nearly as busy and Mary outworks her, ladling on the punishment. Theron’s beautiful face puffy, weary, after nine rough rounds with the surprising little brunette.
R10: CT in wide stance, featuring her jab again, pushing Mary off at the shoulders. Blonde trying to box her way out the round; brunette insistent, munching CT’s poke, fighting her way through it, winging away. Winstead’s heart on her sleeve, throwing caution to the wind knowing she’s narrowly behind. One minute in, Theron slide-steps back to walk Mary onto a right uppercut, but from too far out...and Winstead leans into a crashing overhand right that connects; swiveling CT's head and clicking her eyes shut! Theron stumbling back to the ropes, eyelashes fluttering. ON COMES WINSTEAD! Mary POURING IT INTO THERON! Lefts and rights; LEFTS AND RIGHTS! Theron groggy, punched mute, slowly covering up earmuff, getting battered senseless. Mary squaring up, licking away wide and strong - crowd squealing as Winstead shellacks away, belting CT mercilessly; referee edging in for a closer look. MARY GETS ROCKED!
Sudden short right uppercut with Theron laying back on the ropes clips Mary’s chin tidy and she stops punching! Theron stuporous; on autopilot; leans in off the ropes and lands another right uppercut to chin! Charlize drops her left to her thigh and strokes a swiping right across Mary's mouth! Winstead dazed, staring...stumbles to her right - her right shoulder in the ropes. Theron reverses position and squares away! Charlize big left hook snatching at Mary's paunch, bunching her up. "UHH!" OH! Arcing, overhand right carves in across Mary's left hip - palm-down as Theron bends into the punch intending to do harm. Big pressing body-up by Charlize! Winstead blinking as she's stacked up, hair coming loose, falling in a beautiful brown cascade over her eyes. Mary’s mouth gaping open. Theron’s left elbow chickenwinged out to prop Mary in the chest as she goes to work...right uppercut; right uppercut; right uppercut! Theron just hammering at Mary's chin, head bobbing as CT props her on ropes,
shrugging home another uppercut. MARY GOES DOWN! Winstead bellying in at Theron's feet...Charlize blinking in stupor, lips parted as she looks down, then steps over Winstead and staggers toward a neutral corner; blinking and staring with swollen eyes as Winstead struggles gamely to all fours, then one knee as the count tolls. With a desperate grab of rope, the battered brunette heaves herself upright, staggers into the referee, reels back and raises her gloves to her chest. The ref takes a long look in her eyes, then shakes his head and waves it off…TKO10 in the closing seconds, Charlize Theron!
After: She's still got it! Charlize all but used up herself: digs down; finds the drama all over again to turn back a hungry, hungry, brunette ingenue tonight. "She was on me...(pant) like a dog on a…(pant)… pot roast.," a puffy-faced Charlize declares in her corner as a callous reporter asks her opinion of Winstead as he shoves microphone in her face before she even gets her gloves off. "A very busy fighter...(pant)…touching me up… pushing on me…hell, she billy-goating my boobs! But it was a good, gritty effort...(pant). She woulda, coulda, beat a lot of lightweights tonight…(pant)… but you know what? She learned great fighters don't succumb. What’d she win, five rounds? It may be the highlight of her career…but Charlize doesn't settle for draws. In the end…(pant)…the better woman put her foot down…(pant)…and the girl got stepped on. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?"
And now…bring out the Victoria’s Secret Body Saddle!
