Boxing After Dark

Before: Milano much improved since Twain’s last stint in the squared circle, and we’re not talking about the new blonde ‘do. Team Alyssa excited at the chance to beat on a superstar, and a lot of pundits think the confidence might be warranted--if Twain comes out rusty, Milano could cash her in. Alyssa in gold tankini--Twain in pink tankini.

During R1: Milano coming forward, making the fight, hounding Twain to the corners and dominating much of the round, but Shania doing a good job spinning off the ropes, working into open ground and avoiding undue punishment. Down the stretch, Shania steals the round with a savage three punch flurry to the jaw--staggering Milano and leaving her staring--Alyssa taking the opportunity to pound away on that left eye with cruel accuracy.

R2: Alyssa out of the gate once again, but Twain’s feet haven’t lost the beat. Shania with that Tapia-esque rhythm, scraping the jab under Milano’s chin, poking the straight right hand that left eye, polishes off another round as Milano can’t find the range against the nimble brunette.

R3: Twain dominating most of the stanza, slicing in and out with nifty footwork, playing her fists across Milano’s jugs and face, paying special attention to the eye--but Alyssa steals the round late with some thunder down under--buckling Twain’s knees with hooks to the body at the bell.

R4: Shutout Shania. Twain attempting and Alyssa starts to follow, stubbornly taking punches, unable to cut off the ring, Twain snapping off crisp combinations, batting away on Milano’s head, POUNDING that eye with heartless right hands. Midway though the round, Alyssa is battered all across the ring--Milano with her arms up piteously to block, Twain stepping forward and banging face with rigid lefts and rights--crowd roaring as Milano hit’s the ropes wobbly butt. Twain jumping in and out, stepping over to drill her foe from an oblique angle as Milano sits on the middle strand to take.

R5: Left side of Milano’s face looking like uncooked beef--twain still tap tapping both hands into the swollen eye--Milano can’t stop punishment, Shania pouring it on, landing 6 and 7 vicious punches at a time--Milano staggering under the assault, answering back with the occasional right to the ribs, but she’s getting savaged through 6.

R6: Shania jumps in a lead right hand on Milano’s bulging left eye, drawing  a cry of pain from Alyssa and forcing her to cover up. Alyssa’s giving it up to Twain now, bending forward, letting Twain’s fists pepper the top of her head or swap along underneath to drub those jugs. Milano avoiding the shutout with still-firm body shots late, but it’s way too little too late to take the round.

R7,8: Familiar pattern--Twain licking away at Milano’s face with both mitts hammering that eye, forcing Milano to cover up and hunch forward as Shania steps in, out and around. Significantly, Alyssa’s hurting, but taking the punches well, still coming forward, still landing to the ribcage with authority. Twain’s winning the rounds, but Milano’s slowing the ace--Shania blowing hard on her stool after 8.

R9: Twain tapping that jab, and finally, Milano turns over a big hook in response to swivel Shania’s pretty head. Twain stepping funky, reaches in to clinch, and Milano gets some free shots in on that extended ribcage, stepping back and giving it to Twain with both barrels. Shania recovering well later in the round, fending Milano off with the double jab, changing directions to prevent Alyssa from landing more than one shot at a time.

R10: Wear and tear starting to tell on Twain--Milano able to body up for the first time in the fight and POUND that tight gut with cannonading tights and lefts. Twain holding on around Alyssa’s neck, trying to pull the blonde’s head down, but Milano too strong--she tears it up inside, flattening breasts, blasting away at ribs, and plunging hooks into the belly to drive Twain ropeside. Midway through, twain suffering, Milano working her with a left/right to the body, left uppercut between the mitts and TWAIN GOES DOWN!  Shania in shock, face squelching against Milano’s thigh as the blonde just stands there--Twain pitiful on all fours AND SHE WON’T BEAT THE CLOCK! KO10 Alyssa Milano.

After: OH the humanity! Twain beating Milano raw for 9 rounds, got hurt, couldn’t find her legs and Alyssa jumped all over her to capitalize on the chinny Canuck in the dying moments. Milano not known for last minute heroics, but Twain just couldn’t take then pounding--Alyssa all busted up, but happy to take Shania for a walk--stopping proudly to display the swooning crooner to an angry Dani Fishel at ringside. Friends hold Fishel back as Milano taunts and flaunts with typical meanspirited glee--Twain barely aware of what’s being done with her.
