Packard in ?

Lilly in ?

KO7 Packard!

Evangeline Lilly's been called the bantamweight Jennifer Garner, and she certainly looks the part. Muscular and lithe, vicious speed and hitting power on offence - you wonder what's wrong with this picture. After this fight, the mystery was solved to a certain extent as veteran Kelly Packard continued to step up impressively in weight, badly exposing a promising ingenue and perhaps even ruining her with this crushing display of ring generalship and right-side power.

Evangeline Lilly, despite her phenomenal conditioning and offensive prowess, gets hit too much. Packard labelled her foe in the first with that crashing right cross and you could see blonde eyes dancing as Kelly knew the punch would be there all night long. Time and again, whenever it looked like Lilly would rally and take a round, Packard found a timely right hand to put her girl wobbly butt. It was a heartbreaking, tormenting night for Lilly as bit by bit, minute by minute - crafty Kelly Packard took her prey apart.

Lilly took a very good shot tonight, even coming back hard in the fourth and sixth to hurt Kelly with combinations after a big Packard cross had started the chin-party - but in every instance, Kelly's savvy allowed her to schmooze the judges and take the points. Packard would not lose a single round until the seventh and final heat, when all those right hands on the chin began to add up and Kelly pressed at the right time to get the stoppage. A heartbroken Evangeline stands at the crossroads very early in her career: is she really all that good, or does she, as some fighters and pundits are starting to whisper, actually lack class?
