Thanks to Ginny for this repost.

Jewel not known for prefight trash-mouth, but she cuts into Jennifer with every ounce of female intuition she can muster for this one, touching on Affleck, Gigli, the thin reedy singing voice, the diva temperment - on and on and on. Jennifer really laid bare by the tirade - even hardboiled reporters wincing and feeling embarrassed for Jennifer as Jewel strips away every illusion and defense - it's the kind of thing usually only sisters can do to one another. Lopez trembling, put speechless by the blonde's uncannily accurate and hurtful observations - latina out of her chair in a fury and held back as smiling Kilcher surveys the damage. No question who gets the better of the podium sessions - Kilcher lighting Jlo up with one vicious sound bite after another - chilling. Jewel in teal tankini, slick ponytail, Jlo in BI battle dress, CHAMPING at the bit during ring instructions.

Rd 1: Lopez STORMS across the ring with murderous intentions and gets HAMMERED! Jewel laying back, placing diamond cutter right hands inside Lopez' insane winging hooks, wearing out Jlo's chin and putting her wobbly butt moments into the fight! Kilcher's psyche job paying dividends early - Lopez ignoring defense, barrelling straight up the middle and getting DRILLED as patient Jewel hangs back, times her girl and lands flush. Jennifer's anger propping her up - she's hurt over and over again, reeling backwards and sideways from crushing right hands, somehow gathering herself and trying to get to Kilcher's body. Credit Jewel's discipline - she's got Lopez shipwrecked, but she's not giving the latina any openings - blonde using the jab to step around, giving ground to get Lopez stumbling in and lavishing that Mexican chin some SAUCY right hand haymakers. Bell to bell Jewel - she's never, ever looked better as far as crisp, clean, ring-savvy execution goes. Lopez all busted up and dazed, lolling hurt on the ropes at the break and Jewel DRIVES HOME THE CALLING CARD ELBOW! Lopez shouting out in agonized outrage - blonde taking a page from the flyweights, digging to Lopez' trembling tummy with the referee's back turned - JK pulling out all the stops tonight.

Rd 2: Lopez shows true latina heart, calming down some, realizing she can't just eat Kilcher right hands all night long and adjusting accordingly. Jlo smarter, moving her head in side to side weaves, issuing stubby jabs to chest and face - still emphasizing the hook, but setting it up with straight right hands, backing Jewel up fairly effectively. Kilcher not giving pitched battle as usual - she's fading Jen, luring Jlo to the ropes, rolling punches, looking for chopping counter rights or clipping counter right uppercuts - different stuff for Kilcher. Lopez the busier girl, landing effectively to hips and ribs, keeping the pressure on, but Jewel not as wide open as we're used to seeing - she's getting outworked, but not getting hurt as she picks her spots off the ropes.
Rd 3: Similar stuff - Lopez able to dictate, get on and outwork Jewel, but Kilcher uncharacteristically cagey - covering up well, tilting and bending at the ropes, not letting Lopez clout her flush. Jen doing most of her good work to Kilcher’s body and breasts, but Jewel showing good maturity, clinches up tight, walks her girl back to midring for breaks.

Rd 4: Kilcher showing an improved jab, banging back Lopez' head, retreating in good order, walking Jen into the right hand like it's pre-ordained. Lopez taking punches to get position and get off herself - she can't be denied downstairs - really pounding away at Kilcher's firm tummy and sturdy ribs. Jennifer wants jug, going rack on Kilcher with tidy right uppercuts and clubbing hooks, but Jewel clinching, bogging the aggressive Latina down - Lopez not getting the results she usually does with the inside grind.

Rd 5: Jen wins her fourth straight round - weaving on the approach, getting shoulder to shoulder and simply out-slugging her blonde in the trenches. But Jewel's deliberately not engaging in lengthy exchanges, preferring to cover up and blunt the incoming, tie up, walk Jen around a bit, frustrate her, slow the action. Kilcher able to get the jab when she wants, bloodying Jen's nose, then laying back on the ropes, rolling shots, letting Lopez spend energy. Jlo getting nice, sharp snap on her punches - that hook in the right side is no joke - but Kilcher weathering it well, looking very composed as she continues to let Lopez come to her.

Rd 6: Jewel sliding back, touching Jen the jab, pre-empting her, then dropping the right hand - Lopez is right there for the punch, has been all night, and it's starting to move her again. End of minute one, Kilcher just waiting on Jen, timing her, then bending in to get that short right on the jaw - Jlo's legs give way. She straightens with a forlorn look, bends away from a screaming Kilcher hook and Lopez sprawls to all fours like a new-born filly! Jen takes a watery-eyed 8, blinking, shook up - Jewel moves in right hand at cheek, left at the shoulder, prepping Lopez with a series of POUNDING jabs on shiny latina face. Lopez stunned, staring back off the ropes and eats a GORGEOUS right cross on her chin - brisk head snap, Lopez frozen in a forward tilt for a moment - Jewel takes the opportunity to pick her up a right uppercut on the lips, then club her a swatting right on the ear that sends LOPEZ DOWN AGAIN! Jlo dropped to all fours once more - climbs ropes to beat the count, but those tanned legs are all a-tremble. Jewel cleans up to the bell, now bodying on and bringing it with a more familiar style - shoving Jlo back and BEATING her body thick, batting rights and lefts. Lopez badly shook - busted up, slouching to her corner - Jewel's taking her apart through 6.

Rd 7: Girls come together and Jewel CREAMS Lopez a sliding right on the chops, drifting it in over a low latina left. AND LOPEZ IS DOWN! Jlo dropped to hands and knees, mouthpiece dribbling off numb teeth - she's out of it! Lopez a shabby wreck, fumbling for the mouthpiece, all knocked out and no longer processing - count passes her by as Jewel jumps for joy in the neutral corner! KO7 Jewel Kilcher!

After: Important win for Kilcher, who's been hemmed in by Lopez and Knowles for some time - Jewel finally looking like the girl who stunned the world and had a run as welter champion some years back. Jewel takes Jennifer Lopez apart physically, mentally and emotionally in this fight - cruelty of it leaving even Kilcher fans scratching their heads. Lopez all worked up from Kilcher's unkind comments, played into blonde hands with the frontal assaults, but only Jewel's committment to defense and counterpunching allowed her to take advantage. To top it off - Jewel helps herself to a distraught and groggy Latina, heaving J-Lo up off her stool, ramming her chest first to the turnbuckles, propping that left leg in the ropes and GOING RUMP WITH BIG CLAPPING RIGHT HANDS! Jewel helping herself to imperial backside - Lopez clutching turnbuckle and barking out in shock - it's Kilcher's final punctuation mark on a tour de force outing.
