Before: "I have no respect for Laetitia Casta," sneers Cam Diaz in prefight, "none. She's a speedbump. An appetizer. A one night stand. I'm getting some rounds, a little paycheque just to keep the lights on, but that's it - this girl couldn't even make it as a sparring partner in a BI camp."

Casta demure, non-plussed by the blatant 'tude. "Sounds like a scared little chien to me," purrs Laetitia. "She'll change her tune once I've roasted those scrawny ribs for a round or two." Tech taking a gamble - Jen Connelly just barely broke the stable-wide slide against Maria Bello, but Casta in against a top 10 name - won't be easy to keep the ball rolling.

Diaz in BI battle dress, Casta in royal blue bikini, white fleur de lis print. Girls refuse to touch gloves during instructions, Diaz aggressively trying to stare Laetitia down as seconds intervene to get this thing started in good order.

During R1: Casta looking sharp, doing a lot of good things early, shows she's well-prepared tonight. She's jabbing when Cam's jabbing, pressuring the blonde, not letting her get into that lanky, slashing rhythm. Laetitia using pounding rights to the upperchest, good head movement and scuttling footwork to cut the ring down - Diaz in hurried retreat, but having to cover up, take a few shots along the ropes before she can sidestep/spin her way into the clear. Laetitia not wasting much at Cameron's head early - focusing effort on that flat waist and slender ribcage, snapping sharp, tight punches off the meat, bringing her fists back quick to minimize openings. Diaz showing leg, not allowing extended sessions for Casta, but Laetitia earns a shutout with smart, effective aggression bell to bell.

R2: Diaz looking to dance to spots, walk Laetitia in and chop her up - Casta obliging as action heats up. Cameron quicker mitted, able to drop sudden left/rights and really turn her body into the tight right hand - flashy stuff. But Casta won't be rattled - she's approaching with dukes up high, blocking a lot of showy Diaz combinations, crouching low and ripping at the available midsection. Trading sessions end with Diaz stepping out, circling away to regroup - it's Laetitia coming forward, imposing her will, making the fight.

R3: Casta with another heavy handed first minute - walking Cameron down, landing one or two good shots against the flanks, backing the blonde up, but Diaz has a remedy. Second minute - Casta walks into a mallet short right hand - Diaz' fist banging flush off the chin then straight down on rebound - Casta's buttocks give a tremble as she staggers back onto her heels. Cue the Diaz razzle-dazzle - she's on her girl with a flurry - slashing right hand chops, rising, open palm hooks - Casta buffetted to the ropes, attempting to cover up under the blizzard. Cameron on wide spread legs, leaning in and out to make Casta miss, tearing away with lightning quick, slicing lefts and rights. Nothing is spared: Casta's tits are tarted up; Casta's face is rudely swatted; Casta's body gets shined - but French girl stoic throughout. Laetitia covered up, riding it out - Diaz enraged at the bell, fronting up on the ref, stomping her foot and screaming at him to stop the fight! "Can't you see I'm killing her?" Cameron wails, obviously frustrated at the battered, but still alert French woman.

R4: Casta lands a pair of flat fight hands square between the breasts, bringing Diaz to heel - Cameron stepping back, but flat footed - she wants to walk 'Tish into another of those harsh counter rights. End of minute one - Laetitia pitches a meanspirited right at Cameron's chin, rolling down and in on follow through, carrying herself into Diaz' hip. Cam steps back to get a little room - Casta twists up out of the crouch and pulls an oily hook across Cameron's stark naked chin - DIAZ GOES DOWN! Thunderous blast so sudden - depositing Cameron to her back and classy blonde is RUINED! Diaz shabby as she beats the count at the ropes, eyes swimming, pleading with the ref not to stop it and ON COMES CASTA! Laetitia not as stylish on the kill - elbows in, compact - but she's brutally effective - MUNCHING on the Diaz ribcage, arching back to get the left uppercut, bludgeoning down tidy rights on the ear. Poor Diaz bending and rolling, but she's SO hurt - punches are pounding home, tearing up what's left - it's tough to watch. Casta able to dish and dish and dish - ref reluctant to make a move after giving Laetitia a good long time to withstand Cameron's tender mercies, but this is ugly. Half way through, nothing coming back from Cameron and she's being battered - ref steps in, Casta thrusts her mitts in the air: TKO4 Laetitia Casta.

After: Cameron Diaz out on her feet, beaten unrecognizable - Casta made every one of her punches count as she spends a minute cleaning up on helpless blonde at the ropes. Vindication for French star - she's been well-used the last few months, this is a solid effort, has all the earmarks of a slump breaker. Laetitia not forgetting Cameron's dismissive prefight comments - French brunette treats American blonde to a reeling, staggery walk of shame - Casta cooing to Cameron, holding her upright - Diaz too rocked and stunned to really comprehend it at the time.
