BBU Domestic Fight

At welterweight, local actress Jaye is looking to pocket a win against debutante and new Coronation Street recruit Catherine, but the blonde looks dangerous, and Jaye's chin isn't the strongest.

Jaye looks pretty fine in a blue one piece outfit, but Catherine's silver has the edge on her as they square up.

Round 1

Jaye starts quickly, getting through to Catherine in the opening minute with her left hand, but Catherine is hunting Jaye's body, and starts getting into the brunette halfway through the round, backing her up a little. Jaye's defence isn't great, but she can punch, and her reaction is to throw booming hooks at Catherine's face, not landing cleanly, but they're enough to discourage the girl from getting too close.

Round 2

Catherine is still looking to hit Jaye to the body, but the brunette has a powerful punch on her, and she thwarts the more nimble blonde, her solid hooks thudding into the girl's face a little too often. Catherine knows she needs to do something different as she tastes the blood in her mouth, and she certainly does that - she changes to southpaw, and suddenly starts landing good, solid jabs in Jaye's face, marking her around the left eye immediately, and opening the girl up to be punched hard in the mouth with her left hook, returning the 'favour' of drawing blood.

Round 3

Jaye finds it tough in the early stages of the round, with Catherine keeping up this southpaw attack, her right jabs smacking into the brunette's face, especially around her left eye, and the girl is backing away, clearly hurt. Catherine now switches effortlessly to orthodox style, but there's no respite for Jaye, except that now it's her right cheek and eye getting a battering, and as the round enters the final minute, it's clear that the older girl is finding it tough to see, with both eyes gradually closing due to the sheer volume of punches which have landed on them.

Round 4

Intensive treatment to her battered face has opened Jaye's eyes for her, but the girl is looking rather a slow figure areound the ring, with Catherine's quicker, sharper punches whizzing between her gloves and into her damaged face. The blonde is also now getting some shots to land in Jaye's body, and it's looking increasingly unlikely that the brunette can defend herself properly for much longer. By the bell, both eyes are again looking badly damaged, but the referee seems happy to let the fight continue at least into round 5.

Catherine again.

Round 5

Jaye leaves a concerned corner, and just walks into a barrage of punches to her swollen face from a dominant Catherine, although the girl's punches aren't quite enough to put her down. Once Jaye is rocked by a solid left hook to her cheek which has her slumped against the ropes, the referee does the decent thing, and stops the anguish.

That was an encouraging debut win for Catherine, but she needs a finishing punch.
