Before: “It won’t stand,” Hough predicts with confidence. “This girl beat me, and I accept that—but it won’t stand as the defining result between us. I’m too competitive to ever let that happen, guys.”

Odette on top of the world—unbeaten in FCXBA competition, constant call-outs of Jessica Alba starting to gain credibility—she’s aglow at the podium. “Everything I’ve done, I’ve backed up with my fists,” Odette claims with pride. “Julianne’s just the first of many, many shocked beauties because I’m going to leave in my wake en route to getting what I want. She wants another beating—so be it: I looked great thrashing her the first time around, and I’m sure my fans won’t mind seeing a replay!”

R1: Hough having trouble with the lank and unorthodox looks of Yustman. Julianne looking to pounce—Yustman fading back, slapping Julianne’s ear a hook, nailing her a rangy right hand as blonde’s disengaging. Yustman slugging with either hand while keeping the off-hand at her thigh—twisting and turning supple into her shots: even when Juli’s evading the blows, she seems uncomfortable with the angles. Midway through, Odette scorches Julianne a lissome right cross—clouting Hough’s head aside, buckling Julianne’s knees and sending her scampering away in confusion. Grins from Odette: she takes the first wide.

R2: Julianne still trying to organize. Blonde attacks are foundering against willowy brunette defensive measures—Odette stepping out walking Juli into wide-slapping cheek-hooks, pivoting around the startled blonde and ringing her up right hands. Hough frowning—taking long regrouping walks around her foe, trying to figure out Odette’s timing and distance. Yustman walking her blonde down, but not too aggressive—Odette will come strong, then fade, looking to catch Juli on the pounce.

R3: Yustman licking uppercuts—clouting Hough supple, licking rips as blonde’s trying to jump in. Julianne rebuked—forced to restage at distance—dancer a confused beauty as she continues to circle for advantage. Odette fighting with a constant little smirk and dancing eyes: her bendy torso, licking punches have staccato blonde clutching at straws through 3.

R4: Julianne ups tempo, commits to jabbing Odette. High sticking brunette to tummy—stitching in and out, then circling—blonde finally able to establish a reliable touch. Juli able to hook off the tummy jab (pivoting left) or feint tummy-jab and buggywhip the right hand over the top instead. Yustman outpunched for the first time—getting hit, reacting late as blonde pace starts to take effect.

R5: Fierce engagements—Julianne curving in from angles, clawing combinations at Odette: Yustman snarling, standing her ground, trying to lick Hough on the way in, and oj he way out. Cat and mouse develops—Juli looking to penetrate quick, get off in combination and step to the side: Yustman employing dip-n;-rip uppercuts off either foot, lashing her blows here Juli’s stabbing and clawing.

R6: Juli’s quickness starting to be decisive. She’s curling in off Odette’s left shoulder—leading with right hands, hooking off jabs—all very confusing and cute. Odette’s pretty face starting to scuff up at the edges—Juli’s getting there with hard punches from either hand—scoring and escaping. Whenever Odette tries to regroup—Juli tummy jabs her, just keeping brunette disorganized and defensive. Good nibbling attacks from Hough—blonde systematically breaking brunette down, touching her, discouraging her though 6.

R7: Shutout Hough. First signs of confusion and rout in Yustman: she’s blinking, corners of her mouth trembling down—she just can’t pull the trigger. Yustman grunting in protest at the sharp spank of Hough’s jab finding brown brunette tummy: Hough scampering away with a smile and blonde curls in her eyes. Crowd shouting whenever Hough lands the lead right hand up top, spanking Yustman’s face aside; Odette taking the punch, but looking confused when she’s struck: she’s starting to fall off the pace. Julianne taking no chances—circling, penetrating, escaping—fabulous blonde legs propelling a fearsome potshotting attack o demoralize brunette through 7.

R8: Buggy whip right hand takes Yustman to jaw—she falters, hurt on the spot. Juli reloads smokes another right to chin, then a bandy-armed hook, then another buggywhip right to skull. Odette stunned, slides sideways to ropes, earmuffing up: Juli hops-to grinning, left uppercut off the bounce to split Odette’s mitts. Yustman loose: Juli bends into a supple tight, landing with a clap to jaw—blonde crossing her arms and pushing into brunette to stack her up for reset. Juli’s all in—legs braced wide—fists tearing back and forth across Yustman’s front. Odette blubbering—hands up, trying to block the rain, but she’s just being pasted. Ref lets blonde wail away for a few seconds—soon as Yustman’s legs give way, sitting her in ropes—official moves in to stop the contest. TKO8 Julianne Hough.

After: Vindication for pretty blonde dancer—Hough all smile—fist raised as she celebrates a payback stoppage. Yustman in tatters, weeping and shuddering in her trainer’s embrace: welcome to the FCBA loss a bitter pill for pretty Odette to take. “That’s MUCH better,” Julianne beams in postfight. “I knew from the first fight that I was way too quick and springy for this girl. All I had to do was fight my fight—avoid getting hurt—and she was going to fall eventually!”
