Charlotte grimacing - stout body touches have her unsettled: Carla's backing blonde up, walking her down. 1:30 mark, Carla batting hooks to Char-char's midsection gets blonde backing up: brunette hops in a hard, swinging right, blitzing Ross' chin. Blonde punched stiff - legs locking up as she leans to her right, pitching face first to canvas: Ross propping up on elbows, eyes bleak, blinking. Charlotte beats the count, looking shabby at the ropes: Gugino hops aboard, squaring away strong. Hungry, crisp-punching beatdown administered: Carla doubling up batting hooks downstairs; seeking short right hands up top as Ross unravels against ropes. Late the round, another chopping right to chin stiffens Charlotte; pair of digging hooks punch her paunch and down she goes - cringing on all fours at bell. Gugino glowing: she's having her best start as a professional through 2.

R3: Ross responds, showing typical day-time grit. Char-char jabbing to close, then tucking short left hook to gut, bunching Gugino up. Ross electing to fight inside, chopping Carla up with crisp, cuffing combinations: blonde hands swift, educated - snatching smartly at Carla, then moving back to ready position at Ross' chest. Carla leaning forward behind mitts, trying to crowd Charlotte: Ross able to work up and down the torso as a result, jamming her fists into Gugino's tight little body, getting good thump on her. Short right uppercuts have Carla tip-toeing forward: Ross tidying up with a comprehensive hip-to-head assault this round.

R4: Gugino gets back to her own jab, spends a minute knocking down Ross' own stick, and scoring to blonde face, putting Charlotte on the defensive. Gugino moving in off the successful jab-negotiations: hooking Charlotte's paunch; shouldering her backwards; chasing her down with swift right hands. Ross wilting - she's covered up well, showing sturdy earmuff, but Carla applying steady pressure, really softening up blonde paunch and ribcage. Bell: Charlotte grimacing from body-throb; Carla comparatively fresh back to her corner.

R5: Ross effective early - jabbing from a slight crouch, then leaning in on front (left) foot to hook Carla's ribs. Gugino accepting body shots to get her own shots off: blonde banged up in the exchanges as Carla proves heavier handed. Ross backing away after the minute mark: eyes concerned; legs a little shaky. Carla jabbing her way forward; hooking Ross' breasts; hooking Ross' tummy: brunette starting to rout her blonde, chasing Charlotte to ropes. Ross forming earmuff, stooping forward behind mitts: Carla snarling as she dips left, tucks hooks behind blonde right elbow; dips right, picks Ross up the short right uppercut to jugs and overhanging chin. Gugino owning Ross - dipping side to side, methodically working her over. No one punch does it, but accumulation of hooks and uppercuts beats Ross into stupor. Charlotte cringing forward, settles to all fours, then to her haunches. Veteran blonde knows when it's over - elects to sit through the 10 count rather than absorb more Carla. KO5, Carla Gugino.

After: Gugino glowing - big happy smile; hugs from her guys: she comes out and finally shows what she's got, breaking a tough daytimer down and convincing her to quit. "That was great," Carla gushes in postfight. "I've been overmatched a lot in my career - fighting lightweights and girls with big punches: with Charlotte, I knew I could relax, fight my fight and get things done on her. I know I can beat girls in the boxing ring - Elisha Cuthbert, Jewel, Julie Benz - that sort of fighter. It's just a matter of making the matches that make sense, then executing when I get the opportunity!"
