Before: Heigl getting a surprise sot at the title--Tripplehorn’s handlers want her to step back, bag a few names before answering big paying challenges down the road. Heigl, a hamfisted slugger with a big, brawny body, but nor too slick--Jeanne’s made a career out of picking apart girls like Katherine. Tripplehorn in beige bra and panties. Katherine in pale blue bikini, ponytail.

During R1: Girls step to mid ring, plant and throw--clubbing exchange ends when Heigl stuffs a crude right mitt deep into the pit of Jeanne’s belly--Tripplehorn nearly going down, sags gurgling ti the ropes as Katherine stalks afterward. Heigl sloppy with hurt meat in front of her, missing as Tripplehorn dips and rolls with the blonde’s punches and by the midway point, brunette s fighting well off the ropes, Right hand at her cheek, left across her gut, Jeanne picks Katherine up with little swatting right uppercuts or clouting left hooks, leaning easily up against the ropes or taking Heigl’s shots on her shoulders as brunette gets the better of blonde in toe to toe action. Down the stretch, Heigl’s had enough, retreating slowly as Jeanne punches her way off the ropes. Straight right hands ,  pound over the to to Heigl’s cheek, driving her across the ring and the crowd roars as Tripplehorn finishes up with cranking hooks, chopping right hands that have Heigl trembling at the bell.

R2: Jeanne in control, working off that slumping jab that pounds flat and hard against  Katherine’s face with staggering accuracy. Tripplehorn hooking and crossing with a fluid shift of her hips--Heigl crossing her arms awkwardly, looking bewildered as her head routinely spanks back from contact. Final minute, girls trade right hands and just like that Jeanne scoots to a seat on the mat, shocked by Heigl’s heavy hands. Jeanne up at 8, clinches her way to the bell and stumbles slightly on route to her corner--legs still wonky from Kathy’s single shot force.

R3.4: Heigl getting her body on Jeanne--fight starts t get away from the brunette in these close, very competitive rounds. Tripplehorn laying in with Katherine, basically able to hold her own, but Kathy finishes up the rounds with gusto, exploding her fists I crisp, short arcs against Jeanne’s defence or sinking them into the creamy gut--Tripplehorn getting buffeted whenever Heigl sets down on her punches--steady, workmanlike tempo.

R5; Jeanne unpacks the jab again--fight gets easier as Heigl is kept outside and punished by the machine-like thudding stick from Tripplehorn. This is Jeanne’s fight, steering and positioning blonde with the jab, then slicing in the hook, dropping short right hands down the pike.

R6: Heigl jumping in, bodying up effectively, and once again Tripplehorn has to struggle against the blonde in close quarters. Heigl’s beefy body blows and cudgeling power to the arms soon have Jeanne jelly legged and looking to hang on. Down the stretch, Katherine steps in with a Lucia Rijker straight right hand to the ribcage, buckling Jeanne’s legs and leaving her sick against the ropes. Better finish for Heigl as she concentrates in Jeanne’s thick midsection, digging her fists in and bullying the hurt brunette back with a meaty shoulder. Tripplehorn slumping at the bell--eyes glazing over from Kathy’s sledgehammer blows downstairs.

R7: Tripplehorn responds like a champ, pounding out with the jab and initiating a new tactic: Targeting Heigl’s lead shoulder and bicep, Tripplehorn starts landing jabs and hard short one-twos, punishing the meat and bringing a pained quiver to Heigl’s lips as the blonde begins to droop. Jeanne able to capitalize at the two minute mark, landing not one but two big right crosses in quick succession, putting Heigl wobbly butt and rendering her helpless for the final minute. Tripplehorn heaps it on, going to the plush body of the blonde with both hands shouldering her back and cranking hooks to the ear at the bell.

R8: Jeanne working off the jab, breaks Katherine down early and bashes Heigl’s head to the side with a licking left uppercut/left hook combination to once again leave the blonde reeling out over get. Tripplehorn working hard, muscling up inside to push the blonde back to the ropes, then digging beefy punches o the trunk line and chest--Heigl constantly looking to tie up--sweaty work for both the punisher and the punished.

R9: Tripplehorn working with an assassin’s calm, dipping under Heigl’s ragged hook, coming back with a ripping left, turning it over to a left uppercut in tight to put  deep bend in the blonde’s legs, Heigl hanging on once again--Jeanne’s head clinched in tight to Kathy’s neck, but the brunette’s arms are free, plunging into the cushy give of Heigl’s waistline. Round finishes up with Tripplehorn smearing Heigl up against the ropes--one big woman beating another down in ponderous action.

R10: Jeanne hooking hard off the jab, owns Heigl in the first minute, but at the midway point, girls trade hooks and Tripplehorn comes out the loser. Head lolling badly, limbs suddenly limp--Jeanne’s wrecked by the shattering power of Heigl once again. Katherine too battered to really take advantage, bodies up and walks Jeanne to the corner, leaning exhaustedly up against the brunette as the ref works to separate the big bodies. Down the stretch, Tripplehorn is able to come on with crisp combinations, but can’t hurt the blonde. Turns out to be the difference in a close fight--UD10 Katherine Heigl.

After Tripplehorn stunned and weary at the decision, but classy in defeat, gives her conqueror a tired hug and pat on the back of the head as Heigl lifts the belt. “Katherine’s power is no joke,” Tripplehorn reveals in post fight, “she would hit me in the shoulder and I’d see spots. I thought I had her at the end, but she caught me--that’s the way it goes some times.” Heigl really gutting it out, shaking off big Jeanne t power shots in the 7th, 9th and 9th to still sling heavy leather in the final round. Kathy’s face a sore and swollen wreck after this fight--but it’s the face of a champion.
