Before: Rambunctious meeting between scrappiest of flyweight—fireworks a plenty in prefight. Mish never missing the opportunity to taunt and antagonize her fiery Latina foe—Shakira constantly being held back red-faced with outrage as Williams smirks and primps her side of the podium. “I shall punish Michelle Williams as she has never been punished before,” predicts the brazen Shakira, “ she has made me wait like I am a dog outside her door  and she will pay for it.”

“I just want to tell my fans,” says a grinning Mish, “sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy this one. This is going to be me beating the truth out of another woman and it’s not going to be pretty,”

Mish in black push up, white lace, black low riding boy cut velvet trunks; Shakira in brown and tan leather bikini—wide stitching for a faux skins look.

During R1: Shakira hurtling across the ring, but she’s too anxious, smothering herself by crowding in, Mish calm, accepts the girl  on her chest, reaching under Shakira’s arms, bodying her back and swinging away to belly with plunging right hands. Early Shakira rushes are stacked up, beaten back as Williams stands her ground—Colombian tummy getting a work out. Latter half of the round sloppy—girls wrapping each other up tight, pulling and twisting each other across the ring, along the ropes, each shoehorning in punches to body and jaw out of ropey embraces. Mish sending the message after the bell—she’s got Shakira pressed against the ropes and she’s just wedging in leather between the bodies at Shak’s hip until the ref takes a hand.

R2: Shakira continues to launch herself at Mish—veteran standing in the pocket, literally catching the smaller girl with her body, wrapping her up, pushing her back and slugging in reckless right hands toi the waistline, Shakira driven ropeside, getting roughed up, butt touches ropes and she comes alive with furious side to side slugging. Crowd on its feet as Mish bears down, pounding away with a clubbing overhand right and comeback hooks—Shakira answering with 2 and 3 hooks in the ribs and a short clouting right on the teeth. Hammer and tongs slugging continues on after the bell as both girls light each other up right hands on the chin.

R3: Mish continues to do a good job of absorbing the Shakira rush and turning it against the Colombian. Shak getting worked over as Mish wraps up high with the left, pulling the girl into heartless right hands to belly and hip. Shak bullied to the ropes, hair in her eyes as Mish shoves up on her—Williams putting thumping combinations together as she sets her feet, gets low and drives in with her hips, punches short from either side, Shakira showing signs of wilt, but gritting her teeth and another spirited display of two way brawling thrills the crowd at the bell. More punching into overtime as jiggly blondes to leave each other alone until an official forces them to.

R4: Shak finally listening to her corner, charges through the front door, but gives herself enough room to get off. Smoking Latina attack to the ribs—both fists thumping off Williams’ body beneath the breast line has the champ backing up for the first time in the fight. Shakira propping and mauling Mish at the ropes, getting her head under Williams’ chin and really punishing gut with authority, Mish curling over sideways at the ropes, giving Shakira her left side, occasionally twisting to pick Shak up the right uppercut as Colombian blazes to her first points of the fight.

R5: Shutout Mish Williams, Mish not jabbing artist, but she’s throwing it at the right times, stopping Shak in her tracks, messing up her rhythm. Williams able to spot a series of right hands hard on the jaw in the first minute, Shakira visibly slowed as she backs off in a daze, Mish brawny on Shakira in the second minute, pinning her against the ropes, occasionally reaching under one arm to grab the strands with her left, anchoring Shakira for constant rib-rattling rights. Down the stretch, Shak glum and achy, not punching back: Williams on top, chin out over Shak’s right shoulder, left arm tieing up Shak’s righty and Mish is just heaving in the right hand, smiling as she feel Shakira shudder in pain from body blows. Shak trembly at the bell—Mish chesting up, forcing eye contact until referee intervention.

R6: Shak strikes back! Colombian shakes off the haze, gets after Williams with rich body punching midring, walking the champ back under a savage fusillade of short, swinging lefts and rights to jugs and gut. Williams looking frazzled as she’s beaten to the ropes, champ covering up, trying to turn side to side with the incoming as Shakira unloads. Colombian slamming home the right while keeping the left on her thigh, belting lefts with the right on her thigh—Mish fielding the odd shot clean on her face and gong slightly wobbly butt, not punching back, Mish avoids the shutout with tactical clinches late, aggravating Shakira with rough tousle-rubbing along a reddening eye, getting the challenger moving backward and taking clubbing right hands at the bell.

R7: Girls plant and punch midring, shots are short, girls twisting body and hips into crashing side to side haymakers. Right hands land on chins, Shakira beats Mish to the comeback left and WILLIAMS’ LEGS GIVE WAY! Mish in sad-eyed shock, knee nearly touching down, she straightens and wobbles away as Shakira PLOWS in! Shakira battering Mish to ropes with a stabbing hail of straight lefts and rights—little Colombian pouring it on with wild abandon. Mish guts it up, gloves at her temples, elbows in—she’s compact, calm, starting to fit choice punches in between Shakira’s swings, getting to Colombian belly and breast with gouging counters. Shakira won’t be denied—she’s touched plenty but ignores it, just clobbering away at all things Mish to the bell.

R8: Mish is hurt, shows that veteran sensibility with a new look this round. Williams featuring the jab—stiff and straight up the middle, then a little step to either side, matadoring the Colombian  bull,. Williams drilling Shakira lead right hands, catching the singer with her left on her thigh, beating her to the punch, then stepping away. When Shakira charges in, Michelle nabs the round, and more importantly, gets her legs back into this fight with a good recovery stanza.

R9: Shutout Shakira! Colombian is irrepressible—outclassed in the 8^th, she goes right back at Mish, daring her to be that disciplined again. Gambling rights and lefts catch Mish looking—Williams backing straight up, Shak stepping with and hammering home walking lefts and rights. Up against the ropes, Mish is hugging herself in stupor—Shakira just WAILING away side to side, fists bashing off belly, arms, hips and breasts. Colombian using the heels of hands to push Mish’s torso up but he shoulders, exposing torso to abuse. Sleek brawny down the stretch, palming Mish into the ropes and trying to take her head off with tight uppercuts from either fist. Williams taking and sagging into ropes, arms crossed as she slumps forward stupid with punishment. Shakira’s turn to chest up and taunt at the bell—Mish open mouthed, staring in response.

R10: Who wants it more? Shak opens with a murderous bombardment to her foe’s ribcage and arms, shelling Mish senseless and backing her to the ropes. Williams bogs her challenger down with clinches, getting breaks, then starts to pick her up on the way in with the jab, then starts to turn the tide with right hands as Shak’s kept at arm’s length. Down the stretch it’s Mish backing Shakira up—jabs keying the bashing right hands on the skull, then a top-off hook on the chops that has Shak queasy kneed. All Williams late as she has her way at the ropes—Shakira dazed, arms crossed against her body, facing into b lows as Williams wallops away without restraint. Ref pulls Mish off after the bell—Shakira swaying in the breeze. Comes back UD10 for the winner and STILL Flyweight champeen—Mish Williams!

After: Welling tears of disappointment from emotional Shakira—tears of jubilation from Mish—girls forcing each other to dig deep in this one. Mish rubbing it in with a post-fight belly dance in front of Shakira—Colombian sobbing in outrage at the mockery of her style. Shak overanxious early, gave away the first three rounds—throw that out, Shak wins 4 of the remaining 7 to give Mish all she could handle. Williams learning from her Li’l Kim debacles—she went at Shakira pretty much straight up, but used her jab, used her legs when she needed to, used savvy early to take advantage and the result is a solid, veteran defense of a tough-to-hold title.
