Before: "I've come back to mop up one of our legendary blondes," a chipper Gale says in prefight, clearly delighted to be back in Melbourne after posting strong rounds Stateside. "It's the passing of the torch in Australian boxing, and I'd say it's bloody hard for anyone to crown me queen without first seeing me put the boot to Nik. She's bigger than her prime - but softer, more vulnerable in the basement. I'll take my time - set her up right - then take her out splendid!" Visser flanked by scowling blondes Rachel Hunter, Elle McPherson, Peta Wilson, Anja Coleby and even Nicole Kidman: cabal of anti-Megan vixens funding and supporting Visser in this Gale-busting effort. "Megan hasn't made many friends on her way up," Nikki says at podium. "She's never trod softly, nor respected the great South Pacific fighters who came before her - and frankly - I don't see what all this 'MeganMania' is about. During R1: Nikki not the scampering wonder we've seen in the past: she's flat footed; succulent; stepping to spots, crouching, well balanced. Gale carrying herself a little more upright, hopping after Nikki, engaging via the jab. Big girl gun-platform stuff early - each shelling the other's defences with stiff left poke. Gale's insistent, plowing jab to Nikki's chest usually getting the better of the sessions, forcing Nik to evacuate. Visser acknowledging Megan's booming form outside - blonde trying to edge in close and work: brunette hunching down, getting her hands on Nikki's shoulders and pushing her off, denying inside position.

R2: Crashing one-two at the open, Megan to Nikki: Visser's knees buckle - torso whipsawing - she staggers away in shock, rocked to chin. Megan hops-to: slapping left hook sets up jarring right hand to chin; Visser spilling to ropes wide eyed, open-mouthed as Megan walks her down. Nik covering up earmuff to absorb a buffetting around her ears: Megan reloads, leaning in close to plow both fists to Nikki's firm golden-brown tummy. Visser beaten breathless - she clinches up under Megan's arms: brunette squirms, wedging her hands down inside the embrace to counter-clinch NIKKI'S ribs, bodying her into ropes. Writhing work here - girls grunting with the effort of wriggling in under each other's arms, then turrrnnnning the other into ropes and pushing on her. Beefy whacks in the body as girls hold each other with left hands in under opposing right arms - right hands doing the punching. Ref's breaks see Megan always looking to get back on: Visser still gunshy, tremble-bodied - looking to buy herself a little time. Running from Gale a mistake: long brunette able to extend on jabs or right hands, knocking Visser violently off-balance as she's moving away. Nikki eventually settling on clinching with Megan inside, trying to maul her against ropes. Good strategy - but Gale's up to it: she punishes Nikki inside and out to take the second.

R3: Beautiful Nikki disheveled, panting slightly: she's concerned, trying to creep-step to her right, crouching and giving Gale angles. Megan bright-eyed, walking Nikki down, shelling her jabs whenever Visser stops moving. Nikki wincing, blocking poke, rotating her torso on her hips: this is a rifling, hammering jab Megan's deploying, giving Nikki all kinds of problems. Fight moves to the apron - Nikki prowling to her right with back to ropes: Megan stalking her, paralleling course and speed. Meg shooting out systematic jabs to Nikki's left breast and bicep - occasionally leaning in to pound the right hand home to the same area. Visser grimacing, getting spanked numb, but hooking Megan to the chin and breasts in spots - just enough to keep Gale honest. Third straight round for Megan: she's patiently reducing a very strong blonde in these minutes.

R4: Visser changing tack - feinting then lunging in on Megan, trying to tie up and walk her to ropes. Gale reacting well, hunkering down to walk Nik into clinches, then heaving her back outside. Visser bewildered by Megan's sturdiness: brunette throwing her blonde around at times - Nikki's not used to feeling small. Second minute - methodical Megan back working her jab, stepping in with authority, taking canvas away from Nikki. Final minute, textbook mop-up: Megan punishing Nikki along the ropes - just shelling her extended lefts and rights, beating at blonde biceps/shoulders/breasts. Bell: Nikki open-mouthed, shell-shocked; Megan marching back to her corner, very business-like and alert.

R5: Megan stepping in that jab like a power-punch - hammering back Nikki's bruised face; spanking it off Nikki's tanned belly. Blonde girl in wincing retreat - psychologically breaking down as Megan seems too fresh and strong. Gale's eyes bright, dancing: small smile in place as she sees how discouraged Nikki's getting. HARD right hand lead pounded palm-down and straight off Nikki's midsection has blonde gurgling backward into ropes: Megan driving the breath from her girl with that blast. Meg stalking into position, right hand at her mouth as she pumps jabs into Nikki's raised guard, then it's dip the right shoulder; rip the short right uppercut; split blonde mitts and clip Nikki's chin. Visser sagging into ropes, then wilting to her knees: Gale just missing a savage sweeping left over the top. Nikki ramshackle, trembling on all fours, but bravely beating the count: she's swaying on the spot - a battered shadow of the majestic blonde who had strutted to the ring. Megan moves in at the hop - jabbing Nikki's face a deuce-poke; dropping a short right hand into those bulging jugs; shrugging in a short left to jug; plowing in a short right to jug; tucking home a muscular left to belly. Visser groaning, pitching forward into Megan's arms: Gale gathers her up, piles her back into ropes, stabilizes her, then gets back to work. Short, muscular, bludgeoning work: Megan delivering from close range - elbows close-in to her body as she drops compact, shoving blows into Nikki's breasts and ribs. It's all too much - Visser sobbing, getting ragdolled, unable to clinch or back off Megan off. Ref moves in as Nikki's baring her throat: TKO5 in savage fashion - Megan Gale.

After: THAT'S the blonde-killer performance Megan wanted against Hunter: Gale just stepping to and breaking down one of the all-time great Aussie blondes with a brutal, in-your-face pummelling of the first order. Visser crying in her corner, throbbing from heavy handed blows hip to head: seething companions trying to console her while casting baleful looks in Gale's direction. "What a glorious, glorious day," beams Megan - basking in the sun, and in the magnitude of her own victory. "I battered Nikki - BATTERED her. I knew I had surpassed her, but she's physically imposing and we didn't know how much she had left, so to completely dominate her like this is a bit of a shock. Still, it proves I'm head and shoulders above what came before, and shows that we Aussies can fight on even footing with the best American girls. This was a great win for me, a great win for my fans, and I truly believe the sky's the limit from here!"
