Before: “I’m not impressed,” Song says of Krissy’s monster-whack dismissal of Tisdale. “Ashley’s there to be knocked out—it’s a right: stopping her doesn’t make Kristin the next Lucy Liu. I’m not gonna stand there and take her punches like some big blonde dope—I’m gonna be givin’ her THIS (suddenly bobs and weaves, turning her shoulders, being supple at the podium). Krissy’s not gonna be able to handle that.” Kreuk all scowls—very serious, business like little fighter these days. “First,” Kreuk says at the mic. “it’s ‘Kristin’ to you—not ‘Krissy’. Second, Tisdale’s going to look like Rocky compared to the way you’re going to swoon out—so don’t act so smug, If you don’t get it by now, you’re here to take a beating and make me look good. Just do your job, get paid , and maybe I won’t have to end your career.”

Song in black bikini; small black gloves; curly ponytail with curls framing face. Kreuk in maroon bra style bikini top, sturdy white cotton bottoms; small black gloves; low ponytail.

During R1, 2: Flat footed, supple, free-swinging slugging—and it’s all Song. Girls will step wide with the right foot, put weight in it, then pull a limber left hook across. They’’ shift weight to left foot, crouch, and pull the right hand over top lanky. Both bend deep at the waist, then lean back in exaggerated fashion—very lithe, undulating movements, secured by flat feet, designed to torque the maximum amount of leverage from sleek little bodies. Time and again, Kreuk will miss and pay; this improvisational slugging is totally Song’s fight. Through 2 angry mouse already shading in under Krissy’s left eye—she’s taking Song’s biggest bombs well, but clearly getting out hit early.

R3: Song grinning, eyes tormenting Krissy: Brenda’s carrying her right hand high, left hand low, tilting herself forward, right foot well back to allow a quick exit if need be. Kreuk eyes narrowed—dukes collected at her mouth—she crouches while pawing the jab, looking to creep-step in close. Kris inching forward—Song counters a whippy left hook from her thigh, clouting Kris behind the ear while pivoting left around Kreuk’s right flank and KREUK GOES DOWN! Clapping hook startles Kris, she stumbles to all fours, up immediately as Brenda hoots, jogs to neutral corner. Kris impatiently pushing against Ref as she give her 8—Kreuk immediately engaging toe to toe, landing several satisfying rights and lefts to Song’s ribcage, denying Brenda a quick finishing pounce. Song lopes away, circling right—down the stretch she’s increased distance again, has Krissy swinging and missing—clever Laotian finding ways to dart in and ring Kreuk’s bell to the break. Camera zooms in on Kreuk’s taut rump as she wanders back to her corner: discouraged wobble clearly evident as Song’s been checkin’ that chin regular.

R4: Brenda right hand  high, left hand low, feinting with her head as she tilts forward, then leans back into right foot to slide away, Kreuk scowling, scuffed up—she’s got no choice now but to come forward and make the fight—playing into her nimble opponent’s clever hands. Song routinely batting that limber hook as Kristin’s coming in, clouting Kreuk upside the head while pivoting smoothly ‘round her right flank. Song leading with elastic, pinging right hands, then hooking as she’s bouncing to her left—shifting weight and punching from either foot with either hand. Kreuk moving her head, not engaging at distance with her agile adversary—Krissy looking to fight at middle and close range, Kreuk able to touch Brenda ribcage and flanks at times—but Song’s mobile slugging still getting it done through 4.

R5: Insult to injury—Song reaching in to grab the waistband of Kreuk’s sturdy bottoms, pulling the veteran off balance and spinning her: Song laughing, eyes dancing as ref issues repeated warnings. Kris sticking to her knitting—jabbing to find Song, dipping low to evade Song bombs; rising up into the Song ribcage with the short right hand. Kris still losing minutes, but she’s no longer getting gonged hard, slowly getting her distance and starting to make her presence felt.

R6: First clear Kris Kreuk round as Song lays in more, fighting shoulder to shoulder before stepping out to regroup. Kris compact, elbows in, getting low as Song’s sweepin’ , then stepping inside. Short right hand finds a reliable home in under Song’s left breast—Kreuk able to dig that home, then scrounge lefts and rights in close, tidying up the Song breadbasket and jugs, Brenda grimacing, giving ground—she’s answering back inside, flurrying to midriff and jug as girls crowd close. Fight goes to ropes, Kris on top—veteran starting to impose will, even punching Song’s biceps big-girl style.

R7: Son frowning, right at her chest, left across her tummy as she leans in with left shoulder. Kreuk’s and position identical—she leans in with left shoulder as well—girls rotating gently counterclockwise as a natural progression of their bump-n’-slug. Kreuk digging out the best of it—she’s harder nosed: when they trade equally, it’s Song who backs away, giving up canvas and position. Kreuk able to work her foe to ropes, then keep a shoulder in Songs chest, snatching away at young breadbasket, ribs and jug while Brenda looks to clinch. Kris warned for getting her elbows up as she’s trying to push clear of Brenda’s grapples: getting rough in there and that’s to Krissy’s benefit.

R8: Similar stuff, Kristin has Brenda fighting almost exclusively toe-to-toe: wide ranging, sweeping power shits no longer a feature of the fight. It’s all tight, shrugging, swiping, cuffing clout being administered—flyweights in there cheek to cheek, working hard. Always and everywhere, Kreuk steps Song back: Brenda giving ground grudgingly—fighting for it—but being resolutely beaten by her elder now.

R9: Song growing desperate, opening up wider on the inside, trying to slosh something heavy onto Kreuk. Kris clever—leaning into this stuff—getting outworked early, but slipping the hard stuff, letting Song slug herself out of position. Final minute, Krissy bending at the waist while stepping back in good order; Songs missing over top, slugging with lips curled back off her teeth and Kreuk RINGS HER UP THE HOOK! Good clapping clout as Kris slips under a one-two, walks Song into a torrid clout: Brenda staggering away hurt, relies on curvy legs to hold her up. Kris grinning, drops left hand to her side as she hops in a straight right to song’s body; clouts the right to Song’s ear’ clips Song the right uppercut, Showy pasting off the p[ower-connect steals the round for Kreuk.

R10: Shutout Kristin Kreuk—she’s shoulder to shoulder with a hurting, broken down Brenda Song, steadily working the Disney Phenom over. Kris supple, relaxed—right hand at her chin, left across her gut as she bumps the left shoulder, hooks tummy and chin, fits right uppercuts into jug or teeth. Brenda stumbling along, hands up at temples—she’s buffeted and swatted from one foot to the other as Kris lures her in, tidies her up, steps around her. Kris in constant contact either with mitts or shoulder—touching, touching, touching Brenda, never letting her rest. Bell: Kris brightens, turns on her heel: damp ponytail wipes across Brenda’s open mouth as Song can only fume. Comes back UD10 one point—BRENDA SONG!

After: Whole arena astonished as Kreuk had established control by the end, but it’s 5 rounds a piece with Song’s little knockdown of Kreuk holding up as the extra point. Kris open-mouthed, left eye badly swollen, blinking—Song immediately in her face, poking a finger into Kreuk’s chest and bleating at her—officials separate fighters as Kreuk’s about to escalate hostilities. “I proved I’m badder than Kris ever was,” Song crows on camera. “I kicked Kreuk ass tonight—MAJOR! I said all along that In wo9uld dominate her and I did. Look at that eye! I did that!”
