SUPERFIGHT

Before: "As far as starpower goes," says a matter-of-fact Jen Connelly in prefight, "there are only 4 fighters at bantamweight: me, Britney, Jolie and Alba. Every other name is like an ornament on a christmas tree - I feel like we're the four fighters who matter and it's important to dominate that group. So let's look at it: I've already mastered Spears, which leaves Angie and Jess. Obviously Alba's not in Jolie's league, but she's hot and the fans really respond to her, but hyped fighters have never been great fighters. HBO has done everything in their power to coronate Jessica, but she's just not there yet: she is NOT championship fit. I will give Jessica Alba yet another beating - no way she's ready to step up and take somebody of my class."

Alba non-plussed: always very confident when she's not taking hits. "Does anyone else think Jen's looking tired and hard these days?" Alba mocks at the podium. "Does anyone really think that this (gestures grandly at her sleek chassis, giving a supple little hip-roll) is really going to have any trouble blowing the doors off that? (curls a lip in Jen's direction). Connelly's had her day - the sooner old skanks like Jen C step aside, the sooner I can put the FCBA on my shoulders and take this thing to the next level. The one good thing about beating up a withered old crone like Jennifer is that it also makes me better than Britney, since Spears couldn't handle Connelly's aging heat. I'm going to kill two overated, under-hot birds with one stone in this fight. Next stop: championship city!"

Jennifer in white bikini, coming to ring instructions in long white crushed velvet coat, white cowboy hat, definitely scoring a sartorial TKO over Alba in neon baby blue bikini top, rainbow thin-striped bottoms. White gloves both vixens - both refusing to touch 'em up at ref's request: A list egos won't permit it.

R1: Jen: chin tucked, eyes serious, right at cheek, left lower and more forward, ready to pulse jabs. Jessica using her legs, hopping the perimeter, changing directions to shake the pursuit. Alba hands low - she'll lift a potshotting right off her thigh - tap or brush with it, fall off to the side; she'll stoop and jab tummy or breast, scooting away before the receipt. Connelly patient, walking Jessica down - late the round Jen gets to the Alba ribcage with thump: big batting, almost straight arm lefts and rights to prompt Alba clinches. Jessica commanding ring with her legs, boxing to control and contain rather than hurt: Jen striding to her corner at bell, probably out-touched and outmaneuvered but seemingly unconcerned.

R2: Alba flighty - skiffing and slapping her punches like a Derrick Gainer - she's more smoke than fire, but it's very pretty, athletic-looking stuff. Jess all loose limbed, supple as she trots the ring, attacking in flapping squalls, then sliding away before Connelly can respond. Jen resolute, covering up and accepting spank on her shoulders and guard, then looking to step in - but Alba's not sticking around to engage. It's no accident: when Jen steps back, drops her hands and gives Jessica a withering "Come on" expression - Alba grins, shakes her head "No" and continues hopping well to the outside. Once again, Connelly able to close in the final minute and punish Jessica's svelte ribcage - good thudding lefts and rights until Jessica's canny clinching gets her out of the round.

R3: Jennifer growing impatient with Jessica's will o' the wisp act: Connelly storming forward, getting nibbled and turned in the process. Alba's legs never better: springy, sleek, tanned - she's motoring effortlessly, using every inch of ring, turning on a dime and hitting off her pivots. Alba able (say that 10 times fast) to bring slinging swipe off her thighs with either mitt - lashing at Jen's skull, forcing Connelly to duck and evade long enough to permit Jessica's escapes. Alba pestering with the jab, feinting Jen into a blocking crouch, then jabbing her flat tummy, scooting away with a maddening grin. Connelly frowning at the bell - she's shutout, frustrated. Corner sits Jen down and tells her: "What're you waitin' for? Get on this kid and hurt her to the body. You want her to stop runnin'? Bang the damn body like we trained!"

R4: Easier said than done - Connelly doubling up her jab and getting into range to crease Alba's midsection some juicy hooks, but Jess able to absorb, retreat and dance away. Second minute, Connelly bearing down on the midsection - she bangs a hook/right hand off Jessica's hips: Jess responds with a greasy right uppercut/left hook on Connelly's chin - it's Jen C wobbling away with wonder in her eyes. Alba coming forward for the first time tonight, pasting Jen jabs in the mouth to get her ropeside, then CARVING her a big right hand in the body that has the crowd groaning in sympathy. Jen dukes up, taking a good shot - she comes slugging off the ropes and Jess just fades it, batting punches out of the air, luring Connelly back to midring. Alba coasting to the bell, letting her legs beat Jen - just touching and brushing enough to keep Connelly occupied to the bell. Alba shouting "TOO SLOW!" as the ref moves in: Jen's cheeks hot with shame at Jessica's taunting.

Alba/Connelly conc.

R5: Connelly baits Jessica forward with feigned retreat - Alba coming up the middle for the first time all night, gets to hooking. Girls trading batting left hands, robust wallop on taut waists, climbing torso to clang away on chins and ALBA SCOOTS TO HER BUTT! Connelly smoldering, glaring down as she walks past - Jessica hopping right back up, more embarrassed than hurt. Jess immediately takes to her bicycle, but Jen won't have it: Connelly stepping over, dipping and hooking Alba firmly to trunks, halting Jessica's lateral movement with a cry. Jen stepping-to, her hands palming Alba's outer shoulder-heads as she crowds in, then she bangs the body: rich, beefy, batting lefts and rights to ribcage. Alba groaning, stepping back woozy into ropes - she's hunched forward, she's hurting, giving Jennifer a slow torso roll look to slip the incoming. Connelly strong in the pocket, expression never changing: she's just digging into Alba, emphasizing hooks off the front foot, but short, clouting rights on the mouth are tagging the elusive Alba head. Final indignity: Connelly bodying Jess into ropes, then easing back a half step to get room for a breathtaking jug-barrage: drumming work to Alba's rack has her open-mouthed in shock. Bell: Jennifer's still harvesting jug, getting after Alba's bouncing goods until ref tackles Jenn off. Connelly wrenching her arms free of the man's grasp and stomping back to her corner: Alba's lip curled in pain as she slinks back to hers, hugging her ribs and battered jugs, whining about rough treatment during the break.

R6: Jennifer relentless, moving her feet as she tracks Alba with jabs, pincushioning Jess to ropes, then sailing into the waist with wide, strapping lefts and rights to put Alba's backside in ropes. Jennifer going at Jessica now, punching her to the body, lifting her torso up with knuckle-pushes whenever Alba tries to weave low. Scouring work - Jenn content to bang that body - Alba grimacing, rolling her torso, reaching around Jennifer's ribs to slow the punishment, but Connelly won't have it. Jenn very rough, very physical in there: pushing, grinding her forehead, tapping Alba's trunks and thighs when Jess gets too grabby. Connelly won't be held, won't be bogged down: she's punching, pushing, mauling, bullying. Right uppercut picks Jessica's head up pretty - eyebrows high, eyes closed, mouth open - Jennifer swats a mop up hook to ear, then sells her soul to bury that left hook in under Alba's right elbow. Sweet sigh of pain Jessica - she's crippled to the body, stooping forward, reaching for Connelly's waist. Jenn steps back coldblooded, walking Jessica into short, carving lefts and hatchet right hands, tagging the mouth, mopping up those jugs, beating in the right flank. Jessica stumbling forward, taking merciless abuse and ALBA GOES DOWN! Jessica openly weeping, trembling on all fours - she sits back on her haunches, spits her mouth piece out and hugs at a shattered ribcage the KO6 loser! Jen C struts away all hard-working smiles, hands high.

After: No doubt about it, Jennifer Connelly made Jessica Alba quit tonight after the latter romped to a cutey-pie four round lead. Price of winning a fight with your legs is that there's not a lot of wear and tear on the opponent - Jennifer able to keep coming, finally solving her opponent's loping movement and giving Alba a heartbreaking setback on the night. Connelly resplendent in victory, removing her gloves, running fingers through tangled black locks - she wants more, she's earned more, and by God, she's taking more.

Connelly over to Alba's corner and pulling a sobbing youngster to her feet with hands gripping rough on biceps - Jess blubbering, protesting, but Jennifer won't hear it. Strong right arm snug about Jessica's svelte waist, Connelly steers sobbing blonde out for a blistering walk of shame - the kind of walk only a proud 30 something can give a haughty 20 something to show her: "I'm not too old to kick your ass".

Connelly stopping to pose Jessica at times, speaking in calm, conversational tones to Alba: "Show 'em your ribs. C'mon: up." Poor Alba snivelling, wincing as she lifts her arms as directed: Jennifer helping to keep Jessica's long blonde hair from obscuring the bruises. Once around the ring, then Connelly helps herself to a clapping handful of Alba derriere, sending a distraught Jessica on her way in style.

"Jessica's only chance tonight," Jen affirms in postfight midring, "was to come out winging and hope to get lucky. She can punch a little, so I was initially wary of mixing it up, but when I saw she was trying to fight a technical fight, I just thought 'well, that's it. I've won.' It was only a matter of time before I walked her down and took her out. Guess I should thank Britney: she either deliberately messed with Alba's head in camp or simply botched the training sessions. Either way - nice work Brit!"
