Before: Two seniors circuit still in great shape, very complimentary towards one another during ore fight., Tiegs the more respected fighter in her prime, but Smith a durable veteran with a good all court game. Tiegs in her pink pinup bikini, Jaclyn in a very conservative white bikini.

During R1,2: Jaclyn surprises many with a strong start, using good movement to slip that infamous Tiegs jab and counter with short rights to the jaw. Smith just a little too fast, seems to have Tiegs number in these rounds just beating her to the punch and proving more elusive than Cheryl anticipated.

R3-5: Cheryl shortens up her strokes and brings the jab back quicker, with the result that the fight gets a lot easier for her. Tiegs hits upon a nice move early in the third: a sharp lead right, drop back the right leg, and really crank a wide left hook to catch Smith coming in. Jackie is slow to adjust, and the right side of her face is puffy and sore after, courtesy those biting left hooks from Tiegs.

R6: All Jaclyn Smith as she gives Tiegs a merciless, bell to bell beating this round. It starts when a Smith overhand right hurts Tiegs, an d the big model never recovers. Smith takes Tiegs apart with slashing combinations, pushing and keeping the pressure on as Cheryl sags on the ropes, Tiegs’ pride keeps her on her feet, but she is battered this round as Smith finds the will to really go beyond the essentials. Jackie goes low as Tiegs slumps forward as Smith finds the will to really go beyond the essentials. As Tiegs leans back on the ropes, Jaclyn goes all out to score the knockout with searing left/rights, At the bell, Tiegs’ second rush out to help her to the corner as Jaclyn returns to her corner all business.

R7,8: Jaclyn practically punched out, but Tiegs is destroyed and only hoping to go the seniors distance of 8 rounds. The two women lean on one another, and Jaclyn bullies Tiegs in the clinch, using her head to rub roughly against the lips and chin in between  punches. Decision is unanimous and lopsided in favour of a very good Jaclyn Smith tonight.

After: Tiegs owned this fight until that horrific beating in the 6th broke her heart. Jaclyn rides that 10-8 round to a big victory, coming from behind to hand of the real legends of celebrity boxing a dreadful loss. Smith gives Tiegs a hug and words of encouragement after the victory, becoming a good sport only after getting the W.
