KO7 Ryan.

Don’t let the KO fool you - this was a back and forth, oft-times electrifying struggle that had both women drooping when a classic Ryan drifting right hand ended matters half way through the 7th.

Cat Bell herself expressed concern in the press that Ryan was “taking Daniel too lightly.” “If Ryan thinks she’s going to bully Brittany, I’m afraid this could get crazy,” said Bell. “Daniel has the speed and tenacity to outwork Jeri - maybe even stop her. Nobody wants to see that happen.” When a blistering Daniel combination tore up Jeri’s chest and checked her chin to put Ryan wobbly butt at the end of the first minute - Bell’s concerns  look well-founded indeed.

Ryan would get revenge the very next round - shaking Daniel up with the first of many humming right hands on the chin, but Brittany would not be discouraged. Daniel rampaged back, aggressively working inside her taller foe and going heartlessly, relentless to the bosom, breaking Ryan down at the ropes and trying out the chin to cap off explosive combinations. Meanwhile, Ryan made sure Brittany paid the price, jabbing Daniel’s face to ribbons, getting her shoulder behind clean rights - it was a night when both women were able to do what they wanted at times, and both would sure for it.

In the sixth, it looked as though Daniel had finally imposed her will, dropping Ryan at the bell after a staggering 16 punch combination against the ropes. With Brittany smiling confidently, the seventh began as a Daniel romp, but Ryan would prove once again why many consider her to be the most devastating right handed hitter in the game. Beating Brittany to the punch, Ryan twisted into a perfect right cross to the chin, turning and walking away before Daniel’s face hit the canvas. With another very competitive loss, the jury’s still out on Brittany’s lightweight experiment: she’s able to hurt - and in this fight - drop big, quality lights, but whether she can take it in turn remains in doubt.
