Before: Spears aching to get Jessica in the ring and put an end to all this “rivalry” talk. “What rivalry?” asked Brit in pre-fight. “She’s the worst imitation Britney Spears I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to slap her down.” Simpson more orthodox than Spears, and strapping young lass herself, but once they’re face to face, no question Britney’s the brawnier, fitter blonde, and a much more dynamic force in the ring. Britney in pink sequined push up, pink boy cut trunks, pink shoes, white gloves—Jessica in black and silver push up, black bikini bottoms, black shoes, white gloves, hair tied back.

During R1: Britney’s ego dictating her tactics—she bodies up and trades shoulder to shoulder with the much less mobile Simpson. Girls in wide stances, snapping hooks into tummies and firm breasts, then reaching in with the left to anchor for chopping right hands in toe to toe action. Spears strength shows as she clubs Simpson in a wandering circle, girls constantly leaning in together in compact punching action round.

R2: Girls body up again, but Simpson sneaks a short lead right onto Britney’s jaw, then bodies up to walk a suddenly shaken Spears onto her heels, Brit recovers and does good work the rest of the way, putting her punches together, putting her head on Jessica and walking her back, but Simpson showing  signs of being a heady fighter, starts to give Brit subtle angles inside.

R3: Britney’s best round sees her step to Jessica, out her lead shoulder in hard, then snap off clubbing lefts and rights to the belly button. Simpson pummeled to the ropes—she’s got her face covered, elbows in, letting Spears work unmolested to her flanks and tummy. Great shove and slug from Britney, using that shoulder and chickenwinged left arm to push up on Jessica, then turning her hips in behind thudding licks to the body. Spears al smiles as she peels away at the bell.

R4: Jessica falling in and nailing Britney with that sneaky little right hand, has Spears holding on and getting outhustled early on, Simpson uptempoing, cradling Britney in her left, turning her and swatting her face and kidney with the free right hand. Spears getting cuffed and buffeted and late in the round, leaning well forward onto Simpson’s shoulder, Britney is pulled off balance and hurt by a clipping right uppercut on the chin. Simpson giving shoulder, steps in and jerks that uppercut again, snapping Britney’s head back and DOWN GOES SPEARS! Britney up teary eyed, shaky legged as the bell sounds—corner giving Spears the pep talk, telling her to forget the knockdown during the break.

R5: Simpson scoring that little lead right AGAIN, falling in with the hurt Britney, clinching her and walking her off balance. Spears wobbly butt, hands at her face and Simpson is able to methodically break her down. Left/rioght to either side, in with the shoulder, uppercut between the mitts, clinch and walk—Repeat. Brit soaking up the shutout, can’t shake off the damage from that first pounding right hand and staggers back to her corner hurting and discouraged.

R6: Britney getting her act together, but where are the legs, slashing angles and other trademarks? Spears just wading straight in, muscling Jessica back, brawling through tight punching exchanges and walking Simpson down as the blonde gives ground. Jessica definitely outfought this round, but she’s got Britney slugging mindlessly and it’s to Simpson’s advantage.

R7: Toe to toe action midring, girls pushing off with shiny shoulders, bouncing tight left/rights off one another, leaning in cheek to cheek between bursts, Midway through, Britney lands her hardest punch of the fight—a savage left hook blast just above the hip that has Simpson cringing, wilting to the ropes to recover. Spears all over her prey in the final minute, bulling Simpson into the ropes, heaving in both hands to smooth stomach of Jessica—Simpson blocking upstairs very well under siege.

R8: Girls meet at center ring, and once again Jessica Simpson nails Britney Spears with a very short lead right hand as the girls fall in together—Spears wobbly butt, nearly takes a knee and is helpless in Jessica’s arms. Simpson now opening up, shrugging Britney back and swinging from her hips with clubbing lefts and rights. Spears rocked, stumbles straight back to the ropes, gloves at her face as Jessi pours it on. Simpson has better hands than expected, touching Britney with a right to the stomach, then ripping the right uppercut, repeating the combination with her left hand as Spears sags against the ropes, Merciless accumulation breaks Britney down and she sinks to one knee at the 2 minute mark, badly battered about the face and weary, bodies up and cradles Britney into the ropes, working with short right hands to the cheek and stomach while wrapping Spears up with the left.

R9: Britney Spears a desperate fighter, has some luck outside with looping overhand rights and wild left uppercuts, but Simpson defends well, avoids the most damaging blows with an efficient defense, clinching when necessary to slow Britney down. Frustrating round for Spears as she takes the points, but can’t get get foe in trouble.

R10: Jessica backing up, looking to dodge, block or clinch early as Britney opens up from her thighs with wild bombs. Spears storm proves short lived as the girls fall into the same shoulder to shoulder pattern, and Simpson starts to batter Spears into pouting compliance. Late in the round, Jessica twisting a short left into Britney’s stomach, butts her shoulder into Britney’s teeth, then turns over a short right hand on the jaw to spin Spears a quarter turn to the side—Britney caving to the ropes with tears in her eyes. All Simpson as the crowd goes wild—Spears bent over double, hands at her face, sobbing as Simpson squares up and goes at her back and sides with savage lefts and rights to the bell. A wildly exuberant Jessica Simpson leaps for joy at the break—Spears sniffling, hurting and beaten—UD10 Jessica Simpson in an upset.

After: Britney bawling for rematch, knows she fought stupid and let the limited Simpson go to work on her—loss is deeply cutting to Spears who was considered way too much for Jessica coming in, Simpson going on and on about the Lord giving her this gift—but she showed some defensive savvy and exploited openings with some bnice hsort power punches to give Spears this nasty shock.
