(Josie Davis you can see on “Titans” tonight, blonde, athletic as hell--catch her while you can because “Titans” is  profoundly bad. Eva is currently on “Third Watch” in a supporting role, but she made her bones on “All My Children”, winning an Emmy in the process, As beautiful a brunette as there is, enjoys tae kwan do, by all accounts multi-talented with the best legs you’ve never seen, early 30’s 5’7 2/2, French-Puerto Rican descent--kind of exotic girl next door.)

Before: Victoria Principal wants Josie to have to take the so-called ‘deep breath” fight before looking to challenge lightweight powers. Larue a legendary daytime boxer/puncher--often called in when the stars need “hard’ sparring--10-year grind in the soap mills may have give Eva the proverbial sparring partner mentality, but opportunity’s definitely knocking tonight.  Noticeable leg rivalry between the two girls--neither used to be challenged in that department. Teal beach volleyball bikini for Josie, red string bikini for darker bodied Eva.

During R1: Josie storms out of the gates, chasing Larue to the ropes with a series of clubbing right hands that get mostly blocked, but Davis’ blood is up Hammering a short right hand in between Eva’s breasts, Josie repeatedly nails crisp left hooks to the chin and moments into the round EVA IS DOWN! Larue wide-eyed, on her knees, gets her bearings and recovers nicely--rest of the way is a bitter struggle with Davis cornering Larue, Eva with her right hand at her chin just opening up the left shoulder to clip little right counter uppercuts as Davis bombs away to the brunette’s sides,. Davis nodding, smiling confidently as she bludgeons her way to a 10-8 first.

R2: All Davis as she walks Eva down, initiates shattering exchanges that force Larue to bail and seek open canvas, Davis looks the harder puncher, Eva the slicker ring technician, sliding around the ring, staying off the ropes by turning the blonde--Larue just trying to contain the action as Davis stomps forward. Down the stretch, Eva stepping back in good order, reverses field, shifts to her front foot to paint a smooth left hook across blonde belly, doubling it into a licking left uppercut, falling in to shoulder the stunned blonde onto her heels, then NAILING Josie with a slinging left hook ion the jaw and DAVIS GOES DOWN! Beautiful Trinidad-style work with the left mitt putts Josie on her butt and Davis gets all tremble-bodied, Round ends before Larue can consolidate--thoughtful glare from the brunette before she struts to her corner.

R3: Josie shaking off the hurt, gets right back in top, outworking Eva, forcing her into retreat, but Larue still composed. Midway through the round, some sweet in and out action from Eva--pressing her shoulder into Josie’s chest, pulling out to lick the fall away left uppercut across the chin, rocking back in with a slinging right hand on the temple, then a clinch-and-turn move leaves Josie wobbly butt, Davis showing remarkable durability, takes over I the final minute, burying Eva under an avalanche of clubbing lefts and rights, Larue slipping and blocking very well, but there’s not getting under the pressure as she backpedals to the bell.

R4: Josie’s pace actually uptempos and Eva starts to wilt. Davis pounding away to the shoulders and arms of her foe, going body with both hands, working her way to the head--constant two-fisted pressure starts to break Larue down, Eva buffeted ropeside--right hand at her cheek, left hand low--she slips and rocks back trying to evade the incoming with some success--problem is the sheer volume of leather coming at her. Down the stretch, tireless blonde starts to plant vicious left hooks in behind Larue’s elbow--Eva’s face twisting in pain. Josie piling on, Last few seconds are touch and go for the brunette as Davis clubs her into a stupor--punching on after the bell as the ref jumps in. Davis nodding, lifting her mitts, leaves Eva drained, hurting in the ropes.

R5: Back to back shutouts for Josie as she starts to roll Eva up. Larue back on the ropes, looking very defensive, turning her shoulders, rolling, reaching to clinch--but not actively punching back, Davis happy to work, scrubbing her close cropped head back and forth under Eva’s chin, fists working midsection, finishing up salvoes with a cracking left hook in right to the jaw. Eva’s curvy legs holding her up, but she’s starting to swell around the eyes and her ribcage has  GOT to be hurting after 5.

R6: Eva shuffling to her left, shows Josie the jab early and is picking Davis off, but once again the blonde’s sheer energy is overwhelming. Clubbing, snapping lefts and rights beat arms, hips, torso and jaw as Larue just can’t defend it all and is forced ropeside once again, Davis finishing up strong, helping herself to the dusky gut, bullying Eva back and clouting that pretty face with short rips from either shoulder. Davis going chest to chest at the bell, forcing eye contact with the drained brunette--Larue just wants to get to her corner.

R7: Eva stepping out behind a perked up jab, has Josie guessing at last, doubling up on the redefined, jerking a tight hook as Davis tries to close and turning the blonde with a neat pivot to the left, Josie a little over-anxious, trying to close the show, and Larue works some Boxing 101 stuff, walking Davis into punches slipping Josie’s overworked right hand and coming back with snapping left hooks on the chin. By the midway point, Davis soaked up more punches than she has in the last 3 rounds and is visibly shaky--a hard lead right stuns her--Larue letting her hands go with vicious hooks and rights, snapping the fists back to her chest on follow through drives Josie to a stunned seat at the ropes, Eva’s momentum carries her onto the blonde--Larue taking her time getting her legs out of Davis’ face--Josie up at 8. Josie busted up, puts her dukes and waves Larue--crowd-pleasing eruption as Eva goes toe-to-toe--both girls getting lit up over and over in the brief, but violent interval to the bell.

R8: Both girls showing wear and tear--but legs look fresh after 8 punishing rounds. Larue goes in the offensive, stepping in off her jab to stick hard left hooks to the body--Davis now giving ground with a pained expression, Eva step by step, punching with murderous leverage, backs Josie to her corner and proceeds to administer a clinical beat down. Davis getting NAILED--the slashing left hook on the jaw, the crashing right hand as Larue ducks in and down on follow through--and butt wobbling body work as Eva gets her hips into withering hooks to the liver, Davis pushing punches back, eyes going glassy and she is staggered by chopping right hand on the cheek that leaves her helpless. Larue putting punches together, turns Josie’s head with a whipping left hand, then SINKS the left  the blonde’s taut midriff--DAVIS GOES DOWN! Josie on her face, mouthing mat in a groggy stupor, Victoria Principal only inches away screaming “Get UP you blonde piece of (crowd noise)!” and Davis is OUT! KO8 Eva Larue upsets rising contender Josie Davis in a thriller.

After: Hard fought vindication for Larue as she answers critics with a gritty, hard-hitting performance. Davis looked to have this one wrapped up in the middle rounds as Eva did assume a sparring partner’s posture under the blonde’s insane pressure, but poise and technique never wavered--Eva able to box her way back into slugging position takes out a rising star--legions of AMC fans never doubted it for a minute. Josie does indeed take that deep breath and then come--remain to be seen if she can turn this beating into a valuable experience.
