ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Aly Michalka. Were there other contenders? We don't know: Aly totally eclipsed any other names who might've come to mind. She's the CW Hegemon - a 5'8", chesty bantam who is destined to move up in the next year or so. Can she duplicate Missy P's success by flattening the bantam class en route to Lightweight? That is the question.

Runner up: Gemma Arterton. Breaking the back of the Zeta-Jones/Hurley junta that has ruled Britain with an iron fist for a decade HAS to be worth a mention.

FIGHT OF THE YEAR: Britney Spears vs Tiffany Amber Thiessen.
http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/29901550/26-August-2010-Britney-Spears-vs-Tiffani-Thiessen

Not a title bout, or even a big-ticket event, but Thiessen/Spears was a thing of buxom, bruising beauty that reminded us all of how amazing Britney Spears can be in a tummy to tummy slugfest.

Runner up: Leighton Meester vs Minka Kelly.
http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/31932276/15-October-2010-Minka-Kelly-vs-Leighton-Meester

Not satisfied with a draw, Minka pushed for a unique tennis-style first-consecutive-rounds format to settle things. After 16 grueling rounds, Meester succumbed, and Kelly proved that the World's Sexiest Woman was no cupcake. Jmac take notice come St. Paddy's Day: Little Minka looks cuddly and harmless...until you try to take her lunch money and wind up blocking punches!

Eva Larue vs Lis Rohm

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/25500336/16-April-2010-Eva-Larue-vs-Elisabeth-Rohm

It would come down to a last minute knockdown by Larue to overtake Lis on the cards, and break her heart. As sexy and under-rated a match up as we saw all year.

Righetti/Regan.
http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/33073348/12-November-2010-Title-Ch-Amanda-Righetti-vs-Bridget-Regan

A slugfest for the ages which would finally depose boxing's most dominant champ in heartpounding fashion.

Bjorlin/Regan

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/30984852/24-September-2010-Nadia-Bjorlin-vs-Bridget-Regan

Regan does it again - fighting a brutal, pulverizing big-woman contest against violent Nadia Bjorlin.

St. Paddy's Day Massacre.

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/24696966/9-March-2010-St-Paddys-Day-Massacre

It's almost not even a boxing match, but it's certainly a fight, and what a brawl it truly was.

Charlize Theron vs Tricia Helfer

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/33050316/3-November-2010-Tricia-Helfer-vs-Charlize-Theron

Talk about iconic: tall, cool Hitchcock-blondes - both used to having their way in all things. Sorceress vs Goddess; Tricia's elegance and class placed in the shade by Theron's Oscar. They fought as clever and hard a tactical fight as we saw all year, and the margin of Tricia's victory was as fine as a single strand of blonde hair. Motivated by the narrow loss, CT would dig down to deny Bridgett Moynihan in similar circumstances later in the year.

Allison Mack vs Dani Fishel

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/31927029/8-October-2010-Dani-Fishel-vs-Allison-Mack-7

Hard to imagine a fight with bigger personal stakes for the fighters. It was a career best of 7; a best of 3 rematch between bitter, bitter same-class rivals. In the end, Fishel broke Mack's will in a fight so brutal and personal that one wonders how much either girl has left for the future.

FIGHTER OF THE YEAR - Amanda Righetti. She hammered her way to prominence in the Welterweight tournament, and never looked back. In a division that stubbornly resists the very idea of a single dominant figure, Amanda went 11-2, crushing the best big women in the game en route.

Runner up: Lacey Chabert. Yeah - Lacey Chabert. She got little credit for her '09 campaign, but consider this: going back to July of 09, Lacey was undefeated, going 6-0 before being outboxed by Sienna Miller in November of 2010. She was champion for much of that span, and was victorious in defences against Hayden, Sarah Carter, AND Claire Danes. Considering the competition, that's one of the best flyweight title reigns in history.

Yvonne Strahovski. StraHOTski went 7 and 2 and held the belts for a time, but most importantly, she solved the critical riddles of Jessica Biel and Erica Durance this year. It's largely because of Yvonne, than neither Jessica or Erica could be considered the year's best fighter.

MOST IMPROVED VIXEN - Beth Harnois. "Flimsy and undergunned": that was the assessment of HISC scouts when Harnois turned pro to little applause. To make matters worse, they were right! Look at her now - 6-1-1 in 2010...and not all of the six were gimmes.

Runner up: Mila Kunis. Once thought of as Rachel Bilson's bytch - few would make Billie a favourite over Mila now.

MOST IMPORTANT MOVIE STAR - Scarlett Johannson. Johannson came into her own this year, finally answering critics with convincing wins in high-stakes fights to take the summer away from a bevy of cinematic beauties. Also significant, Scarlett backed up her star status by putting down the always dangerous Sarah Carter in brutal fashion: movie stars have often capitulated under similar circumstances in the past. Plus - coppery curls and black leather seems to have solidified her fighting image.

BEATING OF THE YEAR:

Righetti humbles Kris Loken

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/23847531/12-February-2010-Kristanna-Loken-vs-Amanda-Righetti

The first round of the 2010 Welterweight tournament was a portent of the year to come when Amanda Righetti stepped up to former champ Kris Loken and beat her 8 rounds to 2 with 2 knockdowns. When you take it from a welterweight like Big Rigs, for 8 rounds, you know you're a candidate for BOTY.

Runner up: Radha Mitchell vs Penelope Cruz

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/24698274/10-March-2010-Penelope-Cruz-vs-Radha-Mitchell

Cruz had no idea what to expect when she traveled to Australia, there to face the country's best young starlets. She certainly didn't expect a 9 rounds to 1 bullwhipping at the fists of a sleek young greyhound named Radha Mitchell. So demoralized was Cruz by this thrashing, that she promptly gave up a KO3 to genre journey woman Melissa George in the same campaign.

Hayden Panettiere takes Hillary Duff out back the woodshed

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/30372773/18-September-2010-Hilary-Duff-vs-Hayden-Panettiere

Duff is tuff as prison beef, and she needed to be in this one. Hayden unleashed hell on a girl who should have given her all sorts of problems, proving that when Hayden's on, she's a little blonde nightmare.

UPSET OF THE YEAR
Mila Kunis stops Kristen Bell

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/25046940/31-March-2010-Kristen-Bell-vs-Mila-Kunis

She had been bullied by Bell on-set of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and had never come close to beating Kristen in a boxing ring before. All that changed in a thunderclap, and when Kristen had been counted out, Mila Kunis had effectively altered the course of her entire career.

Runner up: Blake Lively stuns Charlize Theron

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/30378643/18-September-2010-Blake-Lively-vs-Charlize-Theron

In retrospect, perhaps it wasn't unlikely that a free-swinging tyro might catch an overconfident veteran with something robust, but going in? Nobody saw this coming.

Cassidy Freeman beats down Jessica Biel

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/33048603/3-November-2010-Jessica-Biel-vs-Cassidy-Freeman

Not the upset of the year because boxing insiders knew how strong and determined Cassidy was coming in, but for the public at large, this seemed like a catastrophic meltdown by the formerly untouchable Ms. Biel. Perhaps more earthshattering in terms of public perception than either of the other fights on this list.

Lacey Chabert turns back Hayden Panettiere to retain the belts.

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/28036569/10-July-2010-Title-Ch-Lacey-Chabert-vs-Hayden-Panettiere

It's not that Lacey wasn't considered a good fighter coming into her July title bid against Panny - she was champion afterall. It's just that Hayden was considered virtually unbeatable and a heavy favourite to regain the flyweight title. Consider this: Lacey gave Hayden only her second loss in 10 fights in 2010; Lacey STOPPED Hayden with a vicious beatdown, AND; Lacey and her cohorts consummated the win with perhaps the most heinous JMD smothering of all time, against the most physical woman in the division.

Leelee Sobieski punishes Cindy Crawford (welterweight tournament)

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/22985219/6-February-2010-Cindy-Crawford-vs-Leelee-Sobieski

Forget how old Crawford is: Sobieski was supposed to be a tasty blonde snack. Instead, Crawford might have gotten a career-ending case of indigestion!

KO OF THE YEAR
Cassie Scerbo KO3 over Hayden Panettiere

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/23905270/20-February-2010-Cassie-Scerbo-vs-Hayden-Panettiere

Bitter rivals in and out of the ring, Cassie got into Hayden's head in this one, got her slugging and walked her into a thunderclap knockout that would forever change the relationship between these two. Insult to injury: Hayden was roughing Cassie up in this fight, until Scerbo dropped the hammer!

Runner up: Elisha Cuthbert pole-axes Evangeline Lilly

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/28433240/23-July-2010-Elisha-Cuthbert-vs-Evangeline-Lilly

It was supposed to be a routine blonde-processing bout for Lilly, but Elisha C had other plans. Cuthbert's been on this list before: she knows how to erase quality with blunt force trauma.

SEXIEST DRAW

Laura Vandervoort vs Kate Beckinsale

http://fcbahistory.pbworks.com/w/page/26635564/7-May-2010-Kate-Beckinsale-vs-Laura-Vandervoort

Yummy. If only they'd instituted the consecutive rounds draw-solution here - these girls might still be fighting! As much as Becks hates Jmac, it is scalding for Kate to see a young blonde like Laura doing so well for herself.
