FCBA Enquirer: Your trusted source for unsupported rumor and irresponsible speculation since 1999.

As noted by Simguy, it's nearly time to look back at the year that was 2010. While not comprehensive as to nominations or even categories, the FCBA Enquirer staff proposes the following nominations

Knockout of the Year: March 12, 2010 - Elizabeth Mitchell KO1 over Carrie Prejean Yes, they are hardly household names (even in their own households) but, to quote from the original write up, "Crazy near double KO goes KO1 Mitchell!". Yes, we very nearly saw both of them on the deck simultanenously listening to the count - and when was the last time THAT happened in the FCBA?

Beatdown of the Year: July 23, 2010 - Jennifer Love Hewitt TKO2 over Jenny McCarthy What, you say, not going for a ten round shutout? Or even an actual knockout? To which we respond - just watch the tape! McCarthy was knocked out 30-40 seconds before the ref stopped this one; Love Hewtitt literally lifted her up, stabilized her and sat McCarthy in the ropes to play "heavy bag" with her. Was there ever a colder sight than Love Hewitt's icy eyes and half smirk when the dazed McCarthy got off her stool to come out after that brutal first round beating? Turn up the volume and you can hear Love Hewitt whisper "That's my girl!" at the prospect of getting one more round of belting the helpless blonde.

Fight of the Year: February 16, 2010 - Amanda Righetti 1 point decision over Natasha Henstridge for the vacant welterweight title Does it get any closer? Five rounds apiece and a one point decision! Do the stakes get any higher? Three grueling fights in a tournament with the top welters just to get there ... and now the belt is the prize? Fight of the Year is usually a tough call but we at FCBA Enquirer thought this one was easy, as was the next one ...

Fighter of the Year: Amanda Righetti Eleven wins ... against only two losses ... in the division where the big girls play? A nine fight winning streak and against the cream of what could be the FCBA's most competitive division? Some might find it odd to be awarding "Fighter of the Year" to a girl who lost her title in her last fight, but off the year she had, we think its a no brainer. And we'll boldly predict Righetti will be wearing that belt again in 2011.

We may comment on other categories as others discuss them or suggest "honorable mention" type fights in these categories, but this should serve! Who agrees? Who disagrees? Lets get the debate started!
