TESS VALMORE
Tractorpull stopped covering the FCBA last January and did not return to the ring war coverage until late August. I came on board in September. Our selections therefore are restricted to what took place since September and what we could glean from Archer’s history. Tractorpull has historically confined there awards to lightweights and welters.
LIGHTWEIGHTS
UPCOMING LIGHTWEIGHT NOT RANKED
ANNA TORV She broke in last year without much notice but this year, under the Wiz’s guidance she went 6-1.
DISAPPOINTING LIGHTWEIGHT OF THE YEAR
Runner up MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD. She was our rookie of the year two years ago. This year she went a poor 1-4
Winner. JESSICA BIEL Started off the year in fine fashion but ended the year with three KO losses and a 3-3 record for the year
KNOCKOUT OF THE YEAR
FREEMAN/ BIEL Cassidy Freeman flattened Jessica Biel in the fourth round of their 11/3 fight with a right uppercut
LIGHTWEIGHT OF THE YEAR
YVONNE STRAHOVSKI She is our number 1 lightweight. Had a 7/2 record this year and held the championship between June and September
WELTERWEIGHTS
FIGHT OF THE YEAR
RIGHETTI/ REGAN: It didn’t last five rounds but it was a real war with both hitting the canvas
KNOCKOUT OF THE YEAR
REGAN/ RIGHETTI Regan’s savage left hand that ended Righetti’s welter reign in a heartbeat
FIGHTER OF THE YEAR
Runner Up BRIDGET REGAN Was 4-0 for the year and is the current champ
Winner. AMANDA RIGHETTI. Can’t deny her. She had a 11-2 record. Won the welter tournament and then had three successful title defenses for a total of nine straight wins.
INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR
GINNY Her “Sim rolls, I write” practice has allowed Academy fighters to mass more fights in a shorter time than any other stable. This practice could ultimately be the savior of the FCBA
