Before: Tension electric in the air as Dina indulges in psychological ops prefight. Meyer backed by Krista Allen and Ali Landry - girls who know Jenny's style better than anyone - Allen/Landry focusing their considerable venom in Jenny's direction, looking ready to charge the BSE side of the dais. Carpenter flanking Jenny, looking stern with arms crossed at the dais - CC not wild about letting Dina go all the way through without a softening touch, but it's O'Dell's call. "Looks like we've drawn our battle lines," Jenny grins at the podium. "There won't be a lot of suprises come fight night - we're both going to be well prepared and obviously well scouted. I know I'm going to need every angle on Dina I can get to beat her, but I gotta say - the whole tramp brigade thing isn't exactly what you'd expect from someone of Meyer's class." Dina smirking at Jenny's backhanded compliments. "I was surprised to see how much support I've gotten from the fight community once this bout was announced. Jenny's made a lot of enemies in this business - girls who are 100% committed to bringing her down, and I'd be a fool not to use that to my advantage. I'm ready for Jenny O'Dell - as ready as any opponent of hers ever has been. When we're done, she's going to wish she'd never left the beach." Jenny in black SHARK bikini, silver hip-chain, white gloves. Dina in dark green bikini, gold filigree trim, dirty blonde curls up, black gloves. Extra psychological jolt from Jenny late: venue is switched to O'Dell's lair at the Mirage (piped-in feed to PPV audience) - champ using her clout to impose circumstances on her foe - nothing Meyer can do but grit her teeth and accept the conditions.

During R1: Dina wants to box: not Jenny. O'Dell pouncing from the get go, laying her head in close to either Meyer shoulder and lapping underhand rights and lefts with constant batting action downstairs. Fight rhythm is Meyer accepting body blows, scampering away from it, getting hounded to ropes, shipping more body blows, clinch/spinning her way in the clear, getting chased down and suffering MORE body blows from a relentless Jenny. Meyer frowning - showing a right hand under the chin, left across the body look when she's at the ropes - bending and twisting best she can to help distribute the incoming evenly. Jenny keeping her elbows in close to her body, generating terrific torque with legs, backside and back - her non-stop licks sending a definitive message in the first as sturdy Dina is swamped for a shutout. Hugely pro-Jenny Mirage crowd bellicose in support of the champ: Meyer looking a little rattled at the ring-rattling cheers early.

R2: Dina still backpedaling, but getting jab up off her hip, looking to twist into sneaky screened right hands to catch Jenny coming in. O'Dell not just throwing herself at veteran comp: blonde jabbing into the chest, double-pumping poke to close, then strapping hard amidships - O'Dell routinely out-throwing Meyer 3 to 1 here. Dina doing a better job keeping her back off the ropes with circular evasion - but she's still getting crowded and harmed at the apron - Jenny making this a close-in, hard-working, blue-collar affair - Meyer not used to this level of disdain from foes. More bruising points for Jenny - blonde getting good work done on a notorious tuff-girl by fighting Dina's fight.

R3: Dina's getting used to the pace, finding range - she shows her skills this round. Meyer fading in good order, tracking Jenny up-jabs off the hip; cuffing her swatting check-hooks, then pivoting on the front (left) heel to turn champion's right flank. Jenny unable to get on top and smother this round - she's getting tagged coming in, turned, dressed up a bit. Ominous sight at the midway point: Meyer snapping that vicious hook of hers - grazing Jenny only - but the bite is unmistakable, drawing an appreciative gasp from ringsiders. O'Dell forced to be more thoughtful down the stretch, eyes narrowing - girls circling warily clockwise, looking each other over, probing jabs to the bell.

R4: Jenny reads and reacts, spicing Dina up with sudden, sneaky lead right hands off a slight hesitation. Meyer chin-checked for the first time - taking it well, but she's back on her heels and retreating again, allowing O'Dell to come forward. Jenny stepping smartly to either side, testing Dina's footwork; stooping to get tummy jabs on Dina - just vexing and harrassing her before coming in hard. Dina perplexed by the change in tactics - stop-and-go Jenny's fighting when she wants to fight, circling and scowling when she wants to rest - champ controlling challenger midring like a matadora flashing a cape.

R5: Both girls hook viciously to offending breadbaskets - Jenny popping her hips right and batting away La Motta style in twos and threes; Dina dipping her shoulder more, also popping her hips, but delivering with a more lanky, cranking action up underneath. Right hands generally held beneath chins as hooks are expressed - this is brutal, beautiful stuff as proud beauties put bodies and hearts on the line in a bid to break the other down. Crisp, but not hurried pace - girls up tempo but methodically going at each other, gently turning clockwise with the natural action of the hooks. Punch for punch, it's Jenny: Dina's hook is a shocking beast of a punch, but Jenny's raw determination and volume proving decisive as Meyer gets the worst of fearful attrition in the fifth.

R6: Jenny's still enamored of Dina's tummy, wants to get back in there: Meyer makes her pay. Hard, smooth, quick one-twos catch Jenny coming in while simultaneously setting Dina's hips, legs, feet and torso for that lashing hook - midway through, Meyer lands a SCORCHING hook off the one-two to swivel Jenny's head midring. O'DELL GOES WOBBLY BUTT! How-could-you stare in Jenny's suddenly forlorn eyes, feet stamping shabby as Jenny desperately pony-trots her way out of a sure knockdown. Meyer smoldering, attacks savagely to the body, driving Jenny ropeside with ringing right and left roundhouses: Jenny bunched up, badly hurt for the first time tonight - she reaches to clinch. DINA WON'T HAVE IT! Meyer staying compact, keeping hands free - rejects Jenny's clinch with a rolling burst of hup-hup lefts and rights bounced taut off Jenny's stomach - brutal shoulder-bump in Jenny's chest pushes her into cables head-a-bobble. RIGHT HAND DINA MEYER! Sliding clout pounds Jenny's face aside, instantly loosening and dropping her guard: Dina baring her teeth, grunting as she comes back with a brace of hooks in Jenny's ribs and waist CHUP! CHUP! CHUP!. Blonde gurgling, proud legs holding her up: MEYER POUNDS JENNY'S RACK! Seconds left - Dina forgoes the KO attempt to concentrate on Jenny's bulging jugs: challenger's left hand stabilizing Jenny at champ's right shoulder - Dina's free right mitt delivering PULVERIZING blasts to those helpless hooters. POOR JENNY! O'Dell openmouthed, shouting in shock: Dina scrubbing home with Irish Washerwoman rights, painting on the shellack in thick, repeat sheets to the bell...AND BEYOND! Ref has to pull seething Meyer off wilting Jenny as champ reels wonky to corner for emergency repairs. Landry standing, clapping, nodding strong as she catches Dina's eye from ringside, earning a Meyer wink that says: "Oh yeah - I got in there".

R7: Punch-n'-clutch Jenny gets her legs back, wins a pivotal 7th to deny challenger any momentum. It's ugly, but exactly what BSE corner wanted: Jenny stalking to her left (away from Dina's hook), piecing out the jab, easing back to lure Meyer in, then falling in with hard, single right hands before tieing up. Grunting, mauling, belly-on-belly round - Meyer frustrated as strong Jenny walks her to ropes and pins her down for breaks. Dina unable to add to Jenny's woes: O'Dell pulling her fat out of the fire, clears the cobwebs in a tactical seventh.

R8: Jenny back to outworking Dina - stepping to angles, hitting Meyer disruptive lead right hands or stiff jabs, then edging in to beat that bodkin. Dina wearily engaging - Jenny's pace just a shade too hectic for the older vixen - Dina likes to stalk and work a little more judiciously than Jenny's allowing tonight. Jenny bouncing on balls of her feet as she leans in close - punches lifting in and batting against her foe's ribs, tummy, flanks, breasts. O'dell buffetting Meyer, then sliding off to either side, turning Dina, preventing her from setting her feet for the big hook. Meyer relying more and more on one big shot to turn things around - getting swamped in the process. Jenny using a healthy points lead on the cards the way a good poker player uses a big chip stack to pour on the pressure. No one punch does it, but Dina's sent wobbly butt to her corner after this round: Jenny's constant touch taking a terrible toll on Meyer through 8.

R9: Oh, they're hooking each other scrumptious again - just shoulder to shoulder midring, taking turns busting each other to gut, right hands tucked in under chins with the tight deliveries. Bruising stuff - both girls relaxed, breathing through pursed lips, taking the time to nudge each other with the left forearm or shoulder, pivoting left to reset balance and angle. Wince-making give and take for 2 minutes - then Meyer drops one of those oily right hands onto Jenny's chin to turn this thing around. O'Dell frozen - spellbound by the cross: she never sees Dina's whip-hook off the hip curl up and around, taking O'Dell in the temple. JENNY GOES DOWN! O'Dell sprawled awkwardly to all fours: Landry and Allen roaring up out of their seats, screaming and jumping with glee as seething Dina's pushed back. Swaying 8, Jenny: she blunders forward off the ropes, dukes at her chin, eyes blinking, gait unsteady as Dina strides forward. Meyer stepping hard like she's coming in, fades back instead as Jenny pushes out a weak jab, then Meyer leans forward with 100% committment behind a searing overhand right, catching Jenny flush onna face as blonde's looking to deliver same. DOWN GOES JENNY! DOWN GOES JENNY! O'Dell caught a slobberknocker - her right hand sailing over top the crouching Meyer - Jenny swooning, hitting canvas heavily on her right shoulder/forehead. Crowd screaming as Jenny rolls to her back - eyes closed, lips parted in shock - sheer agony to watch this beautiful woman fight off the KO and SOMEHOW get to her feet at the bell. Meyer strutting, hands held high as BSE cornermen rush to guide Jenny back to her stool for a quick ice-water dousing.

R10: She did it before, she does it again: punch-n'-clutch Jenny bogs Meyer down, desperately foiling mop up attempt. Dina pulling close on the cards after the 9th, but she can't add to it: Jenny stymieing her girl with potshotting right hands and brawny clinches, stagger-stepping Dina to ropes in a writhing embrace. Jenny very rough with Meyer in the clinch, showing a little beach salt as she rubs Dina's face with forehead/tousle, bumps Dina shoulders in the mouth, pushes Dina back over the top rope with a forearm at the throat. Not pretty, but Jenny steadily discouraging Meyer, crowding her, running the clock - Dina roughed up - and she NEVER gets roughed up - as Jenny mauls her girl to bell. Hard feelings upon separation - Dina pushing Jen in the back as blonde turns away. Comes back UD10 by a single point, for the winner and STILL champ: Jenny O'Dell.

After: Welcome to Title-Defence boxing, Jenny O'Dell - where every fighter comes in with everything they've got to take away your livelihood. O'Dell still dizzy in postfight - face starting to swell: Ms. Meyer had her out, but blonde pride simply wouldn't allow Jenny to quit on her face tonight. "I'm hurt," Jenny mumbles on camera, looking dishevelled and worn, "but that's the thing girls like Dina need to realize: I win hurt, I win ugly, I win pretty - whatever, I just get it done, no excuses. That's really what separates me from Meyer, Krista and Ali - even though it kills them to admit it. When we get on the five yardline, my will prevails, and they give ground." Ouch - Jenny just laying it out there for her foes with one of the baldest I'm-better-than-you statements we've heard in a good long while.
