Before: Ashley Greene doesn’t seem to be intimidated fighting Laura V. “Yes, I hear she is supposed to be a ‘beach legend’, but she’s lost her last four fights including that one on the beach with Nicole Scherzinger. She may have won a lot of beach fights in the past, but she’s clearly not as good as she used to be. Oh, I know she’s got a couple of inches on me, but this isn’t beach volleyball, I don’t think it will matter at all. Laura is on the skids on the beach and I’m going to hurry the process along. I remember my previous beach fights back in 2014—I beat a supposed tough blonde, Caity Lotz knocking her out in just 2 rounds. Then I beat Dani Fishel—another so-called ‘legend’-- knocked her out in 6. I knocked Katie Cassidy out in my last fight and like putting blonde’s down for the count. That’s what I’m going to do to Laura V.” 

Laura Vandervoort sits  listening to then brunette without so much as raising an eyebrow, but once she has her turn at the podium she shoots a withering glare at her opponent: “Ashley may have a point about my struggling this year. Anyone who knows me, knows that going 1-4 is totally unacceptable to me. I get what she’s saying: I am vulnerable and why shouldn’t she be able to take advantage and pick up a nice win? She won’t because I am not going to let it happen! You understand that, Ashley? You are NOT going to win the fight!” 

Caught by surprise by Laura’s sudden menacing outburst, Ashley blinks, but then her gaze hardens defiantly. 

“Yes, I will!” Ashley says in a low voice that is nevertheless audible in the back of the press tent where the event is being held. 

Laura gives Ashley an icy glare right back and the tension is thick until Laura says: “Then we settle this is the ring.” 

“Fine with me!” retorts Ashley. 

The splendid beach weather continues as Laura and Ashley arrive in the sandy ring. Laura is a bright blue Maxim bikini with matching gloves. Hair hanging loose. Ashley is in a black bikini with golden gloves and golden band securing her pulled back hair.  Laura and Ashley glare and give each other hip bumps until celebrity referee Pam Anderson in striped ref’s shirt and black shorts restores order. Laura and Ashley scowl and listen to Pam’s instructions then go back to their corners to await the opening bell. It comes and the battle is on! 

R1:  Laura and Ashley charge at each other across the sand and start slinging leather as soon as they are in range. Ashley going to the body with driving lefts and rights into Laura’s firm midsection and flicking uppercuts up into Laura’s bikini breast cups. Laura reaching over Ashley’s incoming to strike Ashley’s face, knocking her head back and as the round progresses, forcing Ashley to back up.  Ashley trying to move around Laura, but the blonde always one step ahead on her to block her path. Ashley obliged to hunch down and bang at Laura’s body as she can’t seem to find an opening to get at the blonde’s head. Ashley fighting stubbornly in close has reddening lumps all over her face. Laura landing more punches to the bell to clearly win the round, but Ashley only lumped, not broken and gives Laura defiant hip bump as they part. Laura whirls ready to pounce on the brunette, but Referee Pam will have none of it and gets between the two while sternly lecturing them both on following the rules. Laura and Ashley slink away with “Don’t-Blame-Me-She-Started-It!” pouts. 

R2: Laura steaming across the sand to get at Ashley Greene the second the bell rings. Ashley moves nimbly to dodge the charge and catch Laura from the side with solid punches to the head and ribs. Laura lurches over to the ropes. Ashley pouncing forward pounds Laura as she clings to the ropes for support. Laura manages to turn and clinch Ashley at the waist. Referee Pam breaks it up, but Ashley seems charged up and goes right at Laura before the blonde has a chance to steady her defenses. Laura forced to fight backing up as she tries to keep the smaller brunette off her, but not it’s only slowing Ashley not stopping her. The best Laura can manage is avoid knockdown punches as she has to allow Ashley take the round wide. Referee Pam quick to move between fighters at the bell to make sure there are no more incidents. She can’t anything about the angry looks the blonde and the brunette exchange. 

R3:  Laura more tempered her approach this round. Ashley waiting to see what the blonde veteran has in mind. Laura moving slowly circling the brunette as Ashley warily tracks her. Then Laura steps forward to attack Ashley’s tummy with solid hooks that tip the brunette forward and allow quick uppercuts into Ashley’s chin.  Ashley pulls back, but moves quickly to circle Laura herself and then strike back with hard shots to the blonde’s body. Laura stays put and there is a fierce close-in battle of body punches. The sexy spectacle of those strong, sweating, straining bodies taking and giving punishment has the crowd cheering lustily. Ashley forcing her way in, finally gets to Laura’s chin with her left and right. Laura moves back quickly and when Ashley follows, the brunette runs into a solid blonde jab. Ashley thwarted in the follow up but she presses Laura to the bell and manages to win the round close. 

R4: Ashley eager to get back at Laura, but she runs into that Vandervoort jab. Laura showing some interesting angles of attack with that jab. Ashley getting hit repeatedly to the jaw and chin. Brunette trying to ignore the fog filling her brain and focuses on hammering away at Laura’s body. Laura grunting with these impacts and trying to use her footwork to catch Ashley off guard. Very close in action most of the way until Laura suddenly shifts attention back to Ashley’s belly. Ashley doubling up, trying to protect her face as she retreats out of there. Laura in pursuit, trying to move Ashley to the ropes, but Ashley manages to avoid this even as she gets banged on the side of the head by a lunging Laura.  Ashley staggering on shaky limbs, but she gets her jab going in time to blunt Laura’s follow-up. Laura has to settle for being the one to win a close round this time. 

R5:  Ashley seems slow off her stool this round and she keeps her high guard up as Laura closes in on her. Laura using feints and quick hits to keep Ashley off-balance with hits to the body. Ashley trying to jab, but she is sluggish and Laura is working around the brunette’s defenses. Laura maintaining steady pressure, not allowing Ashley time to recover, and roasting the brunette’s midsection like it was a heavy bag in the gym. Late in the round, Ashley has to lower her guard to protect her agonized midsection and Laura strikes like lightning at the brunette’s already swollen chin. Rapid series of uppercuts have Ashley’s head bobbing, then blockbuster right cross/left hook AND ASHLEY GREENE IS DOWN! Brunette stumbles back a couple of steps then just crashes onto her back, arms flung over her head. Laura goes to neutral corner and watches as Referee Pam starts her counting. Ashley struggling to rise, she can’t seem to get her arms and legs to cooperate. She rolls to her side, but that’s the best she can do as Pam Anderson’s count reaches “TEN!” 

The winner: Laura Vandervoort KO5. 

After: Laura rips her gloves off and rushes over Ashley Greene. She hauls the dazed brunette to her feet. Ashley’s legs are so shaky that Laura just drapes her over the ropes and proceeds to give her black bikinied tush a vigorous spanking. Ashley howling more in helpless fury and humiliation than pain until the thrashing finally stops. Then Ashley just hangs there softly moaning. Laura applies a wedgie to Ashley’s bikini bottoms to allow photographers to snap her posing next to those bright red buns and then strolls off as her fans cheer loudly. 

“If anyone doubts my place in Beach Fighting, I trust this will give them something to think about,” Laura Vandervoort tells Archer News beach correspondent Tawny Sands. “Ashley was an arrogant punk. I think she knows better than to sass me like that. She should take that as a painful, but needed lesson.” 

Ashley Greene scowling as she talks to Tawny: “Arrogant, blonde bully! That’s all Laura V. proved in this fight.  I admit she rattled my brain in R4 and I was still dazed in R5. That’s how she got the better of me this time, but she’s not that much better than me. Next time she’ll be the one getting her butt swatted!” 

A competitive fight most of the way as Ashley Greene seemed able to keep up with the veteran Laura Vandervoort much of the time. However able to detect signs she had Ashley hurt in R5 and moved to finish her. Might be too soon to say :”Laura V. is back!” in beach fighting, but this was certainly a major step on the road back for the famed blonde “beach pouncer”.
