BEFORE:

"I think a slight miscalculation has been made," says Elizabeth with a gorgeous smile. "I know what my opponent's management thinks. Here's a girl with one FCBA fight three years ago. She's hot. She's got a name. She's a nice stay-busy for 'The Next Big Thing'. Well, it's ridiculous that I've only had one FCBA fight and against a girl who's tipping the scales at WELTER, despite what her people say, but, I've been around this game a long time. I've been in the ring a lot. I've worked hard and I've beaten people, but I haven't had any chances against a girl my size on the big stage. Well, tonight I get one. And, I'm going to use it to show the FCBA what it's been missing."

"I'm coming out here to do one thing," says Chloe with a shake of the head. "And, it's the same thing I always come out here to do, knock out whomever management puts in front of me. It's not personal. It's business. And, I'm going to take care of business."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Closer' by Nine Inch Nails you hear pounding through the arena, one of the favorite songs of the lady bouncing down to ringside right now, Elizabeth Banks..."

McCarthy: "And, I might as well point out right now that Banks is a typical Dancing Hooker opponent. NO FCBA wins..."

Tess: "In her defense, Elizabeth has had only one FCBA FIGHT, and that fight was against Jennifer Lawrence, who might not be a welter, but is MUCH bigger than Elizabeth..."

McCarthy: "Zero minus zero is still zero..."

Tess: "What does that even MEAN?"

O'Dell(sighing): "Banks into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a yellow number and a body that's clearly been doing some serious training, and that's 'Uh Oh', pounding through the arena, and that can only mean the singer of said song, 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet is on her way to the ring!"

Cassie: "Bennet still just 24 years old and this is only her tenth FCBA fight, but she's risen in the rankings faster than any Front Street fighter..."

McCarthy: "It's not hard to move up when you're fighting stiffs like Dixon and German..."

Cassie: "Of course, she's also fought Holt, Taylor, who was undefeated at the time, and Lotz..."

McCarthy: "Not one of them is fit to carry my bikini top!"

O'Dell: "Bennet into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that blue number she likes, and it's time for some picks. Tess favors Chloe. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Bennet's as overrated as all the other Dancing Hookers, but even she can beat Banks..."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Bennet quickly to the left jab. Chloe slightly taller, has a bit of reach, wants to make use of that. Banks using a slide step to get off square, angling on Bennet, staying away from the jab..."

Cassie: "Very nice footwork from Banks, good head and shoulder movement."

O'Dell: "And it's fouling Chloe's sights, no question about that. Bennet unable to get the jab on target with any consistency. Can't dictate distance or set up the right. Instead, Banks slipping to the side, then forward, landing a couple of quick punches, then sliding back and to the right away from Bennet's power..."

Tess: "Banks pretty slick here, Mac..."

McCarthy: "No doubt about it. I expected her to come out here and try to bang like she did against Lawrence, but she has other ideas."

O'Dell: "Indeed she does. The lovely blonde slipping and dipping, causing all sorts of problems for Bennet, who wants to go on the offensive, but can't get anything going. Banks slowing everything down, dictating not just pace but space and geometry. And there's the bell. Excellent first for Elizabeth Banks."

Tess: "It's only a 10-9 lead, but Banks and her corner looking plenty pleased."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second now, and Bennet back to that left hand. Banks working the feet, moving the head, tucking it in behind the left shoulder now. She's slick and slippery, getting past that left to close a step and get off with one-twos. Bennet firing back, but Banks able to slip, block, counter..."

McCarthy: "Elizabeth taking this kid to school right now. She's obviously found some stuff on video, put together a game plan, and she's making it work."

O'Dell: "Bennet clearly needing some adjustments here. Banks not hurting her, but she's out-boxing her. Chloe not getting anything home clean, while Banks is able to put punches together, set things up..."

Cassie: "And, it's all one punch stuff for Chloe. She can't get any rhythm against this defense of Banks'."

O'Dell: "Bennet has to be getting a bit frustrated. Don't recall two consecutive rounds where she's been able to get less done than she has in the first two here. Banks cruising. Everything working just like she planned it. Final seconds of the second tick away, and there's the bell. Banks wide."

Tess: "And, now the lead's 20-18, but, like we sometimes say, it looks a little bigger than that at the moment."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "We move to the third, and, as far as the blonde is concerned, it's not broken, so she's not going to fix it. Banks showing that excellent defense that she's turning to offense. Head moving, feet moving, shoulders moving. She's tucking that head, dipping past Bennet's defenses, and getting off..."

Cassie: "Bennet responding to the body now. Banging the flanks and midsection when Banks goes to middle distance..."

McCarthy: "About time the kid makes an adjustment..."

O'Dell: "Banks undeterred. She'll give up some body to get her work in, especially as Chloe's still not able to get much on target upstairs. Elizabeth working a bit of body herself in response, but, otherwise, simply sticking to the plan, which continues to work."

Tess: "Mac pointed out that she's surprised by Banks' tactics. I'm even more surprised by how effective they've been. She didn't show a lot of defense against Lawrence, but that's the danger of putting too much stock into one fight."

O'Dell: "Banks hooks the ribs with the left and lands an uppercut to the chin. Bennet bangs back to the body as Banks slips right, angles, lands a nice one-two. Bennet again to the body in response. Thumping leather downstairs. Getting off with some power for the first time tonight. Final seconds slip off the clock. Bell. Closer. But, Banks again."

McCarthy: "And that's that big three point lead after three we talk about. 30-27, Banks and Bennet officially in trouble."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth underway and Bennet not bothering with the jab now. Brunette stepping to, closing with Banks, cutting off the angles and going to work. Elizabeth banging back and we've got ourselves a Donnybrook!"

McCarthy: "THIS is the Banks we thought we were going to get, and she was sturdy enough to stand toe-to-toe with a big light like Lawrence..."

O'Dell: "And she looks sturdy enough to do it with a big bantam like Bennet! This is back and forth stuff, heavy fire from both sides as they grind in close. A lot of body being worked right now as both fighters are finding openings to the flanks, ribs, and belly..."

Cassie: "Neither fighter willing to take a backward step. Plenty of head and shoulder movement, though, good foot movement, too. They aren't just winging away..."

O'Dell: "But, they're getting plenty of hard leather home to head and body. Both fighters working hard. Both shipping punishment to sturdy frame and and firing return salvos. We're coming down the stretch and a GOOD right from Banks and a HARD left hook from Bennet at the bell! Staredown!"

Cassie: "And, the unspoken words right there are, 'I'll be right here all night.' And the unspoken response is, 'No, you won't'..."

O'Dell: "Bennet's round close. 39-37 with six to go."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "We're into the fifth and the ladies quickly close again and go to work. Bennet wants the phone booth and Banks more than willing to get in there with her..."

McCarthy: "You know, Donnybrook is one of my nicknames for Donny. Maybe we ought to trademark that thing..."

Cassie: "You CAN'T trademark it. It's a district in Dublin...says the Italian girl sitting next to two Irish lasses..."

O'Dell: "Well, ONE of us knew that..."

McCarthy: "Well, that's no reason I can't trademark it...besides, I can't trademark my other nickname for him..."

Tess: "We don't..."

McCarthy: "Jackhammer..."

Tess: "See? I KNEW we didn't..."

O'Dell(sighing): "Meanwhile, in the middle of this comedy routine, we have a fight going on. Bennet and Banks, blonde and brunette, 'Next Big Thing' and crafty veteran, and they're working at close quarters for a second straight round, working the body even more this round..."

Cassie: "Both no doubt for three purposes, score points, bring down the guard, break down the body. Only the first of the three working right now, though."

O'Dell: "And both fighters doing plenty of scoring, working down, up, right back down, hooking body then using straight jabs or rights upstairs. Steady pace of work from both blonde and brunette. Not slowing at all as the bell nears. One more solid exchange and the bell sounds. Another brief stare exchanged before they turn back to their corners. Close to Bennet."

Tess: "And she's within a point, 48-47 after the slow start."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Into the second half of this one and Bennet and Banks back to work. Chloe closes, works body, Elizabeth not giving ground, banging right back, and we're back to close quarters warfare..."

Tess: "Are you surprised Banks isn't trying to get some space here, Mac? She was doing well at middle distances..."

McCarthy: "Not really. She's doing well on these terms, too. Those last two rounds were very close. Judges could be seeing them the other way, and, if they are, Banks has a huge lead. She's comfortable where she is."

O'Dell: "And there's a SOLID right from Banks that backs Bennet up a step! Best punch of the fight so far. Chloe steps right back to and BANKS IS ROCKED! BANKS IS ROCKED WITH A LEFT UPPERCUT!"

Cassie: "Set that up with a right hook. Caught Elizabeth dropping the head to duck it and wobbled her knees with that uppie!"

O'Dell: "Bennet backing Banks up now. Hard-eyed stuff from the beautiful Chloe. She's POUNDING straight ledfts home, squaring Banks up with them and then following on with hard rights. Banks forced to the ropes now, taking heavily to head and body down the stretch. Blonde covering up, answering in counter when she can. Final seconds. Good right Bennet! Banks wobbled again but there's the bell! Bennet wide."

Tess: "But, Elizabeth still on her feet, and, if our cards are right, dead even in the fight at 57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "We begin the seventh with Bennet closing and Banks holding her ground. Chloe clearly wants to consolidate here, but the blonde not having it. Banks responding to Bennet's heavy leather with salvos of her own and we're back at it toe-to-toe..."

Cassie: "This is one of the things you never know about older fighters. There's stamina, of course, how long will the legs hold up, stuff like that, but there's also recovery time. How quickly can they shake off stuff like what happened last round? It looks like Banks has done that pretty quickly..."

O'Dell: "She has, indeed, and she's right back to giving as good as she gets inside, digging body, going upstairs, then back down. Bennet willing to bang away in there as well, gets the head snapped back by a right, but follows with a hard left of her own..."

McCarthy: "Neither woman willing to back up or back down..."

O'Dell: "They most certainly are not. There's a good right from Bennet. Banks digs body in response. Chloe a solid left jab and DOWN GOES BANKS! Bennet set up a BLISTERING right cross with that left and Banks dropped to her right side!"

Tess: "That wasn't quite ON the button, but it was close..."

O'Dell: "Bennet to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Banks pushes up to hands and her right hip, head still down at seven. Eight. Nine...She can't get up! TEN! IT'S OVER. Banks still on her hands and right hip as the count passes her by, and your winner by KO7 is 'The Next Big Thing', Chloe Bennet!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Chloe Bennet, and, Chloe, rough start for you..."

Chloe(nodding): "She's very slick defensively. She's hard to find, always moving and off square. You can't line her up to box at range. So, I stopped trying."

Tess: "What was behind the adjustment in the fourth?"

Chloe(smiling): "Neve said 'stop playing around and get in her face'. Well, those weren't the exact words, but..."

Tess(laughing): "What's next for you?"

Chloe: "Well, I've got at least one fight left this year, and I hope maybe two. Just want to get in here as often as possible to keep working and getting better."
