BEFORE:

"No, I haven't won an FCBA fight yet," says a hard-eyed Dakota. "But, that's going to change. I can fight and I'm going to prove it. And that starts against Arterton tonight."

"She has ability," says Gemma with a nod. "There's no question of that. But. She's not in my league, not now, and maybe not ever. But, definitely not now, as she's about to find out."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Love Me Like You Do' by Ellie Goulding and that can only mean that the lovely Dakota Johnson is on her way to the ring..."

McCarthy: "And, as she already pointed out herself, she's a typical Dancing Hooker opponent...NO FCBA wins!"

Tess: "And, allow ME to point out that she's only had TWO FCBA fights and they were against Lawrence and Daddario, neither of which is exactly a tomato can, especially Lawrence..."

McCarthy: "I'm not sold on Daddario, who only gets fights because she's always showing off her rack on TV..."

Cassie: "I'm going to slide back away from the table now so that I'm out of the way when the lightning bolt hits..."

McCarthy: "I'm not even completely sold on LAWRENCE. Oh, she's not terrible, but she's no Adrianne Palicki..."

Tess: "As I recall, she and Adrianne had quite a fight last year..."

McCarthy: "A fight Palicki WON..."

O'Dell: "Johnson into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal a white number that doesn't leave much to the imagination..."

McCarthy: "Leaves a lot more to the imagination than she did in that movie! That was just SHAMELESS..."

Tess: "Jenny, I'm going to go ahead and slide my chair back to where Cassie's sitting..."

O'Dell: "I'm BEGGING for lightning to strike me, so I'll just stay right here and listen as 'London Calling' pounds through the arena to herald the arrival of 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

McCarthy: "Arterton a typical overrated Dancing Hooker. If I were running Front Street, she'd be IN the street with all the other bigs not named Torv or Sobieski..."

Cassie: "And if I were Queen of England and we were living in the 17th Century, I'd have you declared heretic and burned at the stake..."

McCarthy: "WHAT..."

Cassie: "And THAT has as much chance of happening as you do of running Front Street!"

McCarthy: "SHUT UP, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "Come ON, lightning. No? Ok, then, Gemma into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that violet two piece she likes, and it's time for some picks. Tess favors Gemma. Mac?"

McCarthy: "NO FCBA wins. Arterton."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, absent the lightning, here we go. Dakota to the jab early. Likes to use the left as we've seen in her previous fights. Likes the jab-jab-cross stuff. Technically sound stuff, but the slickness and reaction that comes with experience is what's been lacking so far..."

McCarthy: "Talent's probably lacking, too, if Weirdo signed her to come in here..."

O'Dell: "Arterton feeling out right now. Cautiously jabbing, moving the feet well as always. Gemma a contrast to Torv who's a sleeker light. Arterton powerfully built, but moves extremely well. She's stalking carefully at the moment, showing that excellent footwork..."

Cassie: "Johnson has pretty good hand speed from what I'm seeing. She's getting the hands out and back, finding range on Gemma."

O'Dell: "Both ladies mostly limited to one and two punch stuff. Both landing a high percentage, working for position before letting the hands go. Just like in our last fight, it's all tactical stuff here in the first. There's the bell. Dakota."

Tess: "And, I'll say it again, never a bad thing for the underdog to get the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second begins with Arterton turning up the heat a little. Gemma stepping to, wants middle distances, using that heavy Front Street Jab..."

McCarthy: "It's. A. Jab! All fighters have one!"

O'Dell: "But not one as heavy as the Front Street bigs do. Arterton using hers to set up hard right hands, forcing Johnson to give ground. Dakota looking to circle now, but Gemma cutting that off, bringing her to battle, banging away with hard leather..."

Cassie: "Johnson does not want to trade with Gemma. No question that Arterton has the power advantage."

O'Dell: "Arterton forcing the issue, though. Not exactly crowding, but cutting the ring and the distance, forcing exchanges at middle distances, exchanges her heavier guns are winning. Dakota firing back as best she can, trying to hold canvas, but not having much luck. Final seconds tick off and there's the bell. Arterton's round."

Tess: "19-19 after two, but if Dakota can't renegotiate terms, the cards won't matter."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third begins with more pressure from Gemma. She has the offensive rolling and wants to keep it going. Dakota giving ground, trying to back and circle, but being cut off. Gemma using the heavy jab to set up the hard right hands..."

Cassie: "Johnson needs to find a way to get some space here. She wants to work at range..."

O'Dell: "But, Gems has other ideas, closing to middle distances, thumping Johnson and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND FROM DAKOTA AND GEMMA'S HURT! Johnson with a sneaky right hand counter wobbled Arterton!"

Tess: "We saw that counter power against Lawrence and there it is again! Keyholed that right hand perfectly!"

O'Dell: "Dakota going all in, winging away at Arterton, looking to finish in what would be a huge upset. Gemma giving ground, backs to the ropes in a high guard. She's jabbing back in spots, keeping Johnson honest, but Dakota throwing punches in bunches. Arterton with the body on sale, but Johnson not buying at any price. She's working upstairs, landing solid shot, cleaning up right to the bell. Wide for Johnson!"

McCarthy: "Who's back up 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with Dakota on the offensive. Johnson pressuring Gemma, who's giving ground, executing a fighting retreat, but it's still a retreat. Johnson's attack sound, but effective. She's setting her punches up, but committing on them. Arterton working in counter when she can, keeping the guard high..."

McCarthy: "Kid's smart. She knows Arterton isn't all the way back and she's going to keep working to try to end this thing."

O'Dell: "That, she is, Mac. That, she is. Dakota on a roll here. Getting good leather home. Upping the workrate even more as this round goes on. Gemma landing some in counter, not being rolled over, but Johnson's calling the shots here, clearly fighting lead and in control."

Cassie: "And, give her credit for not getting overly aggressive. She's getting work done without leaving a lot of openings for Gemma."

O'Dell: "Arterton on the ropes and taking as we head down the stretch. Seems to be firming a bit as the round goes on, but Dakota rolling, getting into a good rhythm, keeping Gemma defensive. Good right hand, Johnson and Gemma a solid counter as the final seconds tick off. There's the bell. Another wide win for Johnson..."

Tess: "Who's now up 39-37 and threatening to take control of this fight."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Into the fifth now and Johnson back to the offensive. Arterton holding ground now, seems to have the legs back...and we're seeing some heavy exchanges now! Both fighters getting off some solid shot as Dakota tries to continue fighting lead and Gemma not going to allow it..."

Cassie: "Arterton's getting punches put together right now and she's backing up Johnson..."

O'Dell: "Dakota hanging in pretty well, though. Not giving the field to Arterton without a fight. Gemma slowly taking, though, getting those hard right hands on target. Johnson now using the slide step to get off square..."

Tess: "Good idea, because, like Cassie said, she can't stand toe to toe with Gemma..."

O'Dell: "Arterton moving the feet well, squaring up Dakota despite Johnson's own footwork. Gemma getting things rolling now. Banging solid leather home. Johnson giving ground, trying to get space with the feet and the left jab, but mostly unable to get it done. Five seconds left. Good right from Gemma, and there's the bell. Arterton solidly."

McCarthy: "48-47, Johnson still ahead."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with Johnson now doing some legging for the first time. Dakota circling wide, creating space with the legs and jab, not stopping, just popping, making Gemma chase. Arterton stalking, looking to cut..."

McCarthy: "More smart stuff from the Johnson kid. Not going to stand in front of Arterton..."

O'Dell: "Johnson moving very well, showing quite a bit of athleticism here. Gemma patient. Not going to force anything. Working the feet, looking to cut, and, when she can, getting off with heavy leather..."

Cassie: "This is good, tactical stuff from both fighters. Like Mac said, a nice adjustment from Johnson, who looked to be in some trouble last round..."

O'Dell: "Dakota all about the legs right now. Bouncing, jabbing, now making the odd stop to land a quick one-two before hopping away. Nice tool to have in the bag for Johnson, this movement. Coming down the stretch here in the sixth. Arterton cuts, lands a good right, Johnson circles away, jabbing, legging, right to the final bell. Close. Johnson."

Tess: "58-56 Dakota with four left."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Back to work and Dakota back to the legs. She's on the move in a major way and Gemma responding by stalking aggressively. Arterton cutting the ring, banging hard punches home. Johnson trying to slip away, but Gems not having it. She's stepping to, crowding, banging, backing Dakota up..."

Cassie: "Gemma very aggressive right now, Jenny. She's bringing the power..."

O'Dell: "Sure is. She's thumping Johnson to the head and body. She's got Dakota trapped in a corner and she's giving her a beating. Johnson trying to fire back, but getting suppressed here. Too much volume of power shots from Gemma. Arterton POUNDING Johnson right now..."

McCarthy: "Dakota needs to clinch. Has to find a way out of here..."

O'Dell: "Gemma not allowing it. When Johnson clinches, she punches free, and when she tries to slip away, Gemma corrals her. Arterton just PASTING Dakota! Johnson doing well to hang in and fire back when she can. Final seconds tick off. BIG right hand Arterton and there's the bell. Shutout Gemma, but Johnson still ticking..."

Tess: "And still leading, 67-66."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth begins with more pressure from Arterton. Gemma after Dakota in a big way, pinning her down, backing her up, working her over with both hands. Johnson's game, fighting back hard, but Arterton's got the bigger guns and it's showing up as she controls exchange after exchange..."

McCarthy: "Johnson's got to get terms changed and quickly..."

O'Dell: "Right now, Gemma not allowing it. She's all over Dakota and DOWN GOES JOHNSON! Classic left-right from Arterton and Johnson crumples on her right side along the ropes!"

Cassie: "That left the key, set up the hook perfectly."

O'Dell: "Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Dakota to her feet at eight..."

McCarthy: "Kid has more guts than sense..."

O'Dell: "Referee going to give her the mandatory and waive Arterton forward. Gemma right after Johnson, backing her into the ropes immediately and hammering away with both hands. Johnson wobbled with a left hook...staggered with a straight right! Dakota clinching, UPPERCUT GEMMA! Dakota's legs shimmy and it's OVER! Referee's seen enough! He leaps in between the fighters and bundles Johnson to safety and your winner by TKO8 is 'The Gravesend Gladiator', Gemma Arterton!"

Tess: "Watch that knockdown again. Jab. Back goes the head. BOOM! There's the hook behind the glove and it's all but over."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I've got our winner, Gemma Arterton, and, Gems, it looked like she gave you some trouble early but you found a solution..."

Gemma: "She's athletic and she tried some stuff. After a while, though, it was time to get after her, and I did."

Tess: "What's next for you?"

Gemma: "Who knows? We'll see what challenges develop and what management wants to do."
