BEFORE:

"I was actually quite happy to see Katy win the championship," says Liz with a stunning smile. "It was just further proof of what I've said again and again...I'm still as good as any fighter in the FCBA. And, I'll prove it again tonight."

"She was the beginning," Katy says with a shake of the head. "I had it all going, beating everyone, just pounding out girls. It felt so easy. I was going to take this place by storm. And, then she blew me up and I went into a tailspin. It took me two and a half years to shake it off completely. I should thank her for it, though. It helped me figure out I needed to do more than just try to steamroll girls. Maybe I will thank her. But it's going to be AFTER the fight."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'California Gurls' hammering through the arena, and that can only mean that the former lightweight champion of the world, 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry, is on her way to the ring..."

Tess: "Perry, of course, coming out first here because Hurley won their first meeting..."

Cassie: "And, as Katy pointed out, that loss was the beginning of the roughest patch of Perry's career. She got stopped in a huge upset by Anne Hathaway her next time out, then got knocked out by Jennifer Ellison before being shut down for a couple of months. There were a lot of questions about her future at that point, you may recall..."

O'Dell: "Perry into the ring and helped off with the robe. And there's that red bikini she likes, and the crowd liking it even more than she does..."

McCarthy: "Her body is as overrated as SHE is..."

O'Dell: "And that's 'As Heaven Is Wide' by Garbage you're hearing..."

McCarthy: "It certainly SOUNDS like garbage..."

Cassie: "That's because it IS Garbage!"

McCarthy: "That's what I SAID..."

Tess: "No, you said it SOUNDS like Garbage, and Cassie is pointing out that it actually IS Garbage, which is why it SOUNDS like Garbage..."

McCarthy: "And why are they PLAYING this garbage?"

Cassie: "Because this is one of Hurley's favorite songs and that's why she comes down to Garbage..."

McCarthy: "She WANTS to come down to garbage???"

Tess: "Obviously, because that's what she's chosen to do..."

McCarthy: "Why would ANYONE want to come down to GARBAGE?"

Cassie: "We all have different musical tastes..."

O'Dell(sighing): "Hurley into the ring and helped off with the robe to reveal that orange two-piece we saw the last time she fought Katy, and a body that shows she's still in terrific shape..."

Tess: "That's, I suspect, what people mean when they say 'supermodel body'..."

O'Dell: "I think it's as good an example as you're likely to find. Ladies about ready. Let's get some picks. Tess favors Katy. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Age ain't nothin' but a number. Hurley beat her before. She'll beat her again."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "We have a split panel. Let's see who's right. Liz aggressive early here, working the left hand to establish range. Two fighters about equal in reach, so Hurley looking to set up gun platform stuff and Katy willing to fight on these terms..."

Tess: "And, if you remember the first fight, Perry was NOT willing. She wanted to close and bang, and that's what got her in trouble against Hurley's power."

O'Dell: "Katy not making that mistake this time. She's working her own left, setting up hard right hands and SHE ROCKS HURLEY WITH ONE! Perry wobbles Hurley with a big right and Liz in trouble in the first! Katy now stepping foward behind her jab, backing Liz up. Sound stuff. Looking to finish but not getting sloppy..."

McCarthy: "Fighting scared! She should be all in here!"

O'Dell: "Perry trapping Hurley on the ropes and going to work. Liz taking some heavy fire now. The Brit jabbing back in counter, keeping the guard high, leaning back in the ropes, forcing Perry to extend on her shots. Katy splitting the gloves with a right, shaking Hurley's legs a bit. Final seconds expiring and there's the bell. Wide for Perry, who's maybe made a statement early."

Cassie: "10-9 for Katy after one."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second and Katy probing forward. Wants to see how Elizabeth's legs have recovered. Hurley holding ground nicely, getting the left on target solidly, landing a good right hand. Katy not going to force anything, willing to go back to ranged warfare here, and that's where we're headed..."

McCarthy: "Fighting. Scared. Palicki would have had Hurley out of there by now!"

O'Dell: "Fighters turning slowly in a counter-clockwise motion, both sliding to their respective rights away from power. They're using the jab to range-find and set up the right. Both fighters getting leather home, but both showing solid defensive abilities, too, slipping punches, picking others off. This is good, slick boxing now..."

Cassie: "And a perfect example of the change in Katy Perry since the first fight. Perry did not and could not fight effectively this way."

O'Dell: "She can now, as she's demonstrating, but so can Hurley. Liz has always been dangerous at range, where she can extend on her punches. She still has plenty of hand speed, as you're witnessing, and she still moves very well. Perry showing a little more head and shoulder movement as we go down the stretch, looking to foul the older woman's aim, but Hurley adjusting, getting punches on target to the bell. Close. Liz."

Tess: "And, we're even at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round starts with more gun platform stuff. The two brunettes popping those solid lefts, looking to set up big right hands. Both have plenty of power, and some of those right crosses are landing with authority. Perry a little busier this round. Hurley working a nice, consistent pace..."

Cassie: "Liz looks plenty comfortable right now, but so does Katy."

O'Dell: "Perry a nice one-two. Hurley a right hand. Katy a right misses and HURLEY STAGGERS HER WITH A RIGHT HAND COUNTER! Oh, what a right from Elizabeth! Perfectly timed and she hurt Perry with it!"

McCarthy: "I TOLD you! Hurley's got Perry's number!"

O'Dell: "Liz now going all in on this thing. She's backing Katy into the ropes, banging away with both hands. Perry keeping the guard up, countering a bit but mostly taking right now. Hurley ignoring body, hammering away upstairs. She's looking to put Perry away..."

Tess: "And she's not being shy about it. She's firing absolute BOMBS, Jenny..."

O'Dell: "She is, and some of them are landing right on target, shaking the former champion. Katy hanging on here, running clock. She's moving the head, rolling the shoulders, making Liz miss on occasion and then firing back. Hurley throwing a blizzard of leather as we approach the bell and there it is! End of the third. Hurley wide."

McCarthy: "Liz now up 29-28, and how Perry ever beat Strahovski, I'll never know. Then again, Strahovski isn't that good..."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins as a 180 of the second, with Hurley now coming forward, looking to consolidate. Perry firming up nicely, though, holding her ground just like Liz did in the second. Hurley settling back now, going to the jab, not going to force the issue against a hitter like Perry..."

Tess: "Doesn't seem to be much reason to. She's having success boxing at range..."

O'Dell: "That's probably the thinking, and she's having success again, as good, two way boxing between the beautiful brunettes resumes with a slow counter-clockwise circle and a BOOMING RIGHT FROM PERRY! Hurley's legs went to jelly for just a second, but she managed to stay on her feet somehow! Liz is hurt though and here comes Katy. Perry battering Liz back to the ropes and making with the heavy leather..."

Cassie: "Taking a lot of body this time, working the ribs and midsection..."

O'Dell: "Definitely is and she's forcing Hurley to crouch to defend some of it while she keeps the guard high. Thirty seconds left as Katy goes upstairs then back down. Hurley firing back in spots, keeping Perry honest and the referee at bay, but Liz taking by far the worst of this to the bell, and there it is. Big round for Perry who takes it wide..."

McCarthy: "But, it's still even at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with Perry on the attack. She's backing up Hurley early on, stepping forward behind that heavy Front Street jab and using the big right hand to keep Liz moving back. Hurley giving ground grudgingly, banging back hard as Katy forces the issue now..."

McCarthy: "It's about time she stops fighting scared..."

O'Dell: "Perry not looking to crowd, just to advance, to force Hurley backward, to get her on the defensive and keep her there. Hurley countering well, but most of the offense IS in counter, as Katy's now boxing lead and DOWN GOES HURLEY! Perry a right hand and Liz dropped to her back!"

Cassie: "That right could have knocked an ELEPHANT down! This thing is over..."

O'Dell: "Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Hurley with the eyes closed, not moving. Seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It IS over! And your winner in one-punch fashion is 'The Santa Barbara Slugger', Katy Perry!"

Tess: "Check the replay on this right hand. Watch as Katy lands the left, takes one step forward behind it, and, as Hurley's readying a counter, she steps into a right and BOOM! Right on the button. Liz is out before she hits the mat."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Katy Perry, and Katy, that was a heck of a fight!"

Katy(smiling): "Yeah, that was fun. Liz can hit, and with that range and as smart as she is, she's dangerous. I didn't think this thing was going the distance, but, this time, I wanted to be the one standing when it was over."

Tess: "Talk about the punch that ended it..."

Katy(shaking her head): "Just trying to pressure a little bit, to follow up on hurting her in the fourth. Didn't want to force anything, but I wanted to take my shots. I beat her to one, stepped into it good, when it landed, all I could think of was, 'If she gets up from THAT one, I don't think I can take her out of here'. But, she didn't."
