BEFORE:

"Last time here was HUGE for me," says Shailene with a smile. "My first FCBA win and I proved I could compete at this level. But, now I've got to show it wasn't a fluke and that, no disrespect to Leven, I'm BETTER than she is. Well, it wasn't and I am and I'm GOING to prove it."

"The fight in March," Leven says, shaking her head. "She fought very well, and I didn't. It was a low point for me, with a lot of people questioning my future, and a lot of them still are. I need this one tonight, and, no disrespect to Shailene, but, I'm going to GET it."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside, and that's 'Stray Heart' by Green Day, and here comes 'The Houston Solution', Leven Rambin!"

Cassie: "Uncle Wiz again showing his class, giving Shailene the honors tonight, as she won when the two fought the first time..."

McCarthy: "CLASS? WEIRDO? I just did a spit take with my diet soda!"

Tess: "And you got it all over the tablet Front Street issued you, not that you USE it..."

McCarthy: "It's fine! I'll just wipe it off, and..."

Tess: "It's SMOKING..."

Cassie: "Hang on..."

McCarthy: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Tess(laughing): "You are QUICK with that fire extinguisher, Cassandra Lynn..."

Cassie: "Fire safety is important..."

McCarthy(coughing): "I'm COVERED WITH WHITE GUNK...."

Cassie: "It's actually potassium bicarbonate..."

McCarthy: "I DON'T CARE WHAT IT IS IT'S IN MY HAIR AND MY MOUTH AND UP MY NOSE!"

Cassie: "If you weren't setting fires around here you wouldn't HAVE that problem..."

McCarthy: "YOU LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "AHEM! If we could concentrate on the ring..."

McCarthy: "IT'S IN MY EYES! I CAN'T SEE!"

Cassie: "And, if history is any guide, that won't affect your work in the slightest..."

McCarthy: "I'M GOING TO STRANGLE YOU ON LIVE TV!"

Tess: "You're choking the fire extinguisher. Be careful with..."

McCarthy: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Cassie: "It's JUST too easy..."

O'Dell: "IF WE COULD STOP THE SLAPSTICK! Mac, stop shooting yourself in the face with the fire extinguisher. Truck, get some stuff out here to clean up Mac and this table. And, ladies, let's concentrate on the RING..."

McCarthy: "I CAN'T SEE THE RING!"

O'Dell: "Broadcast by sound and smell, Mac..."

McCarthy: "MY EARS, NOSE, AND MOUTH ARE CLOGGED WITH POTASSIUM CHLOROFORM!"

O'Dell: "Truck, if you HAVE chloroform, bring it and USE it. Rambin helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal the bubblegum pink bikini she likes, and that's 'Orpheus In The Underworld' by Offenbach you hear..."

McCarthy: "I can't HEAR it!"

O'Dell(sighing): "And here comes Shailene Woodley..."

Cassie: "Shailene one of the most exciting young prospects in the FCBA. Loads of talent. She's going to be a big star."

O'Dell: "Woodley into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Bazz corner. She's wearing that sky blue and white two-piece she wore the last time she was here, and we're about ready for some picks. Tess likes Leven. Mac?"

McCarthy: "My mouth tastes like I've been eating dryer lint!"

O'Dell: "Do you have a pick?"

McCarthy: "If Woodley's actually IN the ring, because I still can't see, I'm picking HER..."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I'm going with my girl Shailene!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell, and, no surprise, both of these tall bantams want to establish their jabs and work at range. Rambin a bit more aggressive in the early going, working more right hands, while Shailene mostly holding the right at bay..."

Tess: "Both girls moving well, aren't they, Mac?"

McCarthy: "I have no idea! I can't see!"

O'Dell(sighing): "Well, they ARE moving well, both showing excellent footwork. Rambin a nice right hand there and WOODLEY ROCKS HER WITH A LEFT HOOK! Shailene a NASTY left and Leven is hurt!"

Cassie: "What a punch! This kid KEYHOLED that thing!"

O'Dell: "She did and now she's rocking Rambin with a flurry of leather, sending her wobbling into the ropes. Leven trapped, taking in a high guard. Shailene going body briefly, then back to the head, SHAKING Rambin with a right! Referee looking closely at this. Not going to allow much more of it. Leven sponging right now, jabbing back here and there, but taking a lot of shot. Legs holding her up as we head for the bell. Woodley a good right and there it is! End of the first and a big opener for Shailene!"

Tess: "Only a 10-9 lead for Woodley, but, psychologically, huge."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Mac getting cleaned up here between rounds. Can you see now, Mac?"

McCarthy: "Yes, but my mouth still tastes like I ate a Wheaties box..."

O'Dell: "Shailene looking to consolidate as we start round two. She's after Leven, getting a little sloppy here, trying to make something happen. Rambin countering well, she's giving a little ground, landing solid right hands. Woodley being slowed in her pursuit, getting picked up by Rambin as Leven lands the left to set up the right..."

Cassie: "Shailene needs to settle down in there. The first is over. Leven's shaken most of that off. Time to get back to work."

O'Dell: "And Woodley starting to do that now. She's getting back to the left hand, back to boxing at range. Rambin responding in kind, coming off the counter and beginning to try to get off first here. Both women showing the good head and foot movement now as we've got a slow turn going..."

Tess: "Got to like the way Rambin's responded here, Jenny. She's settled this down, gotten right back into the fight."

O'Dell: "That she has, and she's actually getting the better of the exchanges now, getting off in combination, throwing Shailene onto the defensive. Woodley firing back in counter now, as Leven takes over boxing lead. We're coming down the stretch of what's been an interesting round with plenty of action. Ten seconds left. Nice trade there with good rights landing from both fighters and there's the bell. Rambin."

McCarthy: "19-19 after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round sees us back to range as both blonde and brunette want to box and use all that length. Rambin bobbing, slipping, looking to work the feet for position and Woodley doing exactly the same. This is good, slick stuff from two fighters without a lot of experience..."

McCarthy: "Both of these kids have some physicals. It's too bad they're in such clueless stables that they'll never amount to anything..."

Cassie: "Tess, hand me that fire extinguisher..."

McCarthy: "Don't even TRY it, Scabbo! My mouth still tastes like I've been eating the contents of a sweeper bag!"

O'Dell: "Will someone please give Mac a freaking MINT, so we can concentrate on the ring, where we're seeing an excellent, competitive third round between these two young bantams? Woodley a tad more aggressive than Rambin as we roll through this one, a bit busier. Leven a little more defensive, but not to the point that she's ceding the lead to Shailene..."

Tess: "You've got to like how Woodley's settled back into the plan here..."

O'Dell: "No question about it. She's boxing well as we head down the stretch. Rambin doing the same, but, the Bazz beauty a little more effective this stanza, just a bit busier. It's been a close round, but it's Shailene who's gotten the better of it as the bell rings."

McCarthy: "And Woodley's back on top, 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth underway and, as I often say, the pattern is set. Both fighters using a similar style, and both getting comfortable at long range, where they can extend on everything and put their reach to use."

Cassie: "Very even as far as reach, too, so you aren't seeing either of the fighters trying to slip closer. Both have negotiated a distance they like."

O'Dell: "And, both being effective at that distance. We're seeing the fighters get into a rhythm now, putting punches together well. We're seeing extended flurries on both sides, with a high percentage of punches landing despite good defense..."

Tess: "And the defense IS good. Lots of movement, head, shoulder, foot, and glove. Targets aren't easy to hit, but they're getting hit."

O'Dell: "That, they are. Nobody hurt. No huge punches landing. But plenty of leather finding the target as we head down the stretch. Thirty seconds to go in a back-and-forth round. Rambin a solid right and a good rejoinder from Woodley, who backs her up a step with a right hand. Ten seconds. One more exchange and there's the bell. Close. Shailene."

McCarthy: "39-37 now for Woodley as we approach the half."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins like the fourth ends. Good, ranged boxing from both fighters. Rambin getting a little busier this round, matching Shailene's punch volume. Both fighters busy, both moving well, not much separating them..."

Tess: "Mac, how do you know where you stand in a fight like this. I mean, as you gain experience, you start to get a feel for how you're doing, but, with rounds this close, how do you know?"

McCarthy: "You rely on your corner, Walmart. You rely on them to tell you where you are and if you need to adjust. That's why a good corner is so important."

O'Dell: "Neither fighter doing much adjusting right now. Instead, they're sticking to the plan, boxing well at range, putting punches together better and better as the round goes on. Both getting in rhythm, setting punches up well, getting to spots consistently."

Cassie: "Really good stuff from both fighters, especially considering their experience levels."

O'Dell: "Agreed. Both working hard, neither trying to do to much. Coming down the stretch in the fifth. Twenty seconds to go. Rambin a good flurry answered in kind by Shailene. Leven going body a bit more as we approach the end of the round. Good right from Woodley and there's the bell. Close to Leven."

Tess: "48-47 for Woodley with five still to go."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth begins with a slight adjustment from Woodley. Shailene showing a double-tap jab now and she's disrupting Leven a bit with it. Rambin getting forced onto the defensive as Woodley drops rights off that double jab..."

McCarthy: "This is good stuff from the kid. You just want to foul her up a little bit and she's doing it with something simple."

O'Dell: "Simple, but effective. Rambin definitely out of rhythm now and Shailene able to take over lead and toss her onto the defensive. Leven now working in counter as she's being suppressed very well by the younger woman's offense. The blonde having her moments, but it's the brunette establishing control..."

Cassie: "And I want to point out again just how little experience Shailene has. This is only her fourth FCBA fight, and you're already seeing the tools that will make her a champion..."

O'Dell: "I haven't seen a thing tonight to make me disagree with that assessment. Woodley has the offensive rolling now. Leven giving some ground to get some tme and space, but Shailene steps forward into that space and keeps the punches flying. Leven firing back in counter again, but it's Woodley bell to bell in the sixth."

Tess: "And she's back on top by two, 58-56."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh begins with Rambin adjusting now to that double jab. She's pre-empting it with her own solid left, stopping Woodley with it and setting her up for hard right hands. Rambin actually stepping forward a bit now, not closing or crowding, but taking a little canvas and forcing Woodley back..."

Cassie: "Shailene's getting squared up too much right now. She needs a little more movement..."

O'Dell: "Right now, the movement is backward and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND, LEVEN AND WOODLEY'S HURT! Rambin a straght right wobbled Shailene's legs and Leven after the brunette in a big way. She's winging away at the younger woman, forcing her back into the ropes, pounding away with both hands looking to finish this thing right now..."

McCarthy: "Woodley needs to get busier. She's not countering enough..."

O'Dell: "And she's apparently realized that and is beginning to fire back a bit more, but it's still all blonde all the time as Leven fires away with both barrels, going head, body, head, snapping back Shailene's head with a right hand there! That shook Woodley! Shailene clinching now, trying to run clock. Twenty seconds left. Leven digging body then landing a good left hook. Shailene covering up. Ten seconds. Rambin throwing everything at Woodley but it won't be enough. Bell. Leven wide, but Shailene survives."

Tess: "And it's anyone's fight, 67-66 Woodley with three to go."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth begins with Rambin looking a little gassed from the big effort last round. Leven not doing much in the early going, and that's playing right into the hands of Shailene, who needs some time to get the legs back. Woodley snapping out a jab. Leven dodging, slipping it, but not throwing many punches. Looks to be a bit arm-weary right now. Woodley more than happy with these terms. She's moving a bit now, jabbing, looking to play for time..."

McCarthy: "Rambin has to get after this kid. She has a chance right now and she's blowing it big time."

O'Dell: "Leven working her own jab a little. Keeping Shailene honest, just like Woodley is doing to Rambin, but neither fighter seems able to go on the offensive right now, at a critical point in the fight, and, again, as Mac said, this is an advantage to Woodley, who's both ahead and the girl who got buzzed last round. The more clock she can run here, the better it is for her."

Tess: "Leven hearing it from the corner, as is Shailene. Both corners telling their respective girls to get busy, and the work rate is picking up a bit as we head into the final minute."

O'Dell: "It is, but it's still not at the level we saw earlier in the fight. Jabs being exchanged. The occasional right hand dropped in. But, not much in the way of punches being put together, and no real offensive rhythm for either fighter. Coming down the stretch now, and the slow pace of action picking up just a bit more. Leven a good right hand and Woodley an answering flurry. Ten seconds left. Fighters bob and weave on the spot and there's the bell. End of the eighth. Woodley close."

Cassie: "And, Shailene's back up two, 77-75 with just two rounds to go."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "We begin the ninth with a little more action as both fighters seem to have recovered from the seventh round now. Woodley moving better, has the legs back underneath her. Rambin more active with the gloves, going jab-cross now. Both women are getting back to the ranged boxing we've seen for most of the fight. Leven the more aggressive of the two, looking to pressure a little. Lots of close rounds in this one, so our cards may be wrong, but we have her behind, an she may have been told that she is by her corner..."

McCarthy: "Or, she might have been told this thing's pretty close, which it is, and she has to win the last two rounds to be safe..."

O'Dell: "Could well be. In either case, Rambin showing more aggression here, working to take the fight to Shailene and having success doing that. Leven throwing the brunette onto the defensive more and more, beginning to take over lead and force Woodley into responding only in counter. Rambin backing Woodley up with a right hand there, stepping forward...AND GETTING ROCKED WITH A LEFT HOOK! Shailene staggers Leven with a left hook and now Woodley going offensive in a big way..."

Cassie: "Now's the time! Shailene can put this fight away right here..."

O'Dell: "And that's exactly what she's thinking. She's backing Leven up with power punches, wobbling her with a right hand right there. Rambin covering up, giving ground and GOING DOWN AFTER A STRAIGHT RIGHT! Big right hand from Woodley and Leven dropped on her back!"

Tess: "That was a great punch, Jenny! Not sure she can get up from that!"

O'Dell: "Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Rambin rolling to her belly. Seven. Eight. Nine. She can't get any further! TEN! It's OVER! And your winner by KO9 is Shailene Woodley!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Shailene Woodley, and, Shailene, another big win for you at Asylum..."

Shailene: "I said coming in that I had to prove to everyone that what happened last time was no fluke. Well, it wasn't. I'm for real."

Tess: "This was a good fight, though, and you were in trouble for a bit..."

Shailene: "No question about it. She's good, too, and she can hit. She had me hurt a couple of times, but I knew if I could hang in there, I'd come back and get her, and that's just what I did."
