General speculation about Punchfest '15 had been flowing from sources of varying reliability as soon as the event had first been officially announced. Most reputable analysts seemed to agree that Punchaholics Anonymous had either gone off the rails, or devised an impossibly complex plan to turn a one-time disastrous event into some sort of valuable resource. The latter theory was abandoned when the company revealed that it had reserved space at its chosen venue several times after the first event; the former had yet to be disproven. 

However, things went smoothly enough on opening night. Both the ground floor and the balcony of the medium sized venue were packed on all four sides of the ring with restless, standing fans -- or if not fans specifically, at least members of the general public curious about what was about to unfold. Above, nearly hidden, a small set of box seats surrounded the ring. Management, wisely, had erected a chain link barrier separating the ring and backstage entrance. Despite the early hour, a small pile of thrown water bottles and general litter had accumulated outside it. 

The comments from the press did not seem to have discouraged debuting actress Xenia Seeberg, though there was always the possibility that her statement had involved extensive coaching. "I'm very excited to be part of the first fight of the first Punchfest. I'm making history here! And I intend to do it twice in one night by getting the first knockout in the history of the event as well. Jenna, I hope you're listening!" she finished up with a big grin on her face. 

Jenna Jameson expressed different ideas in her interview. "There's something wrong with her face. She looks like a goldfish, or a goblin, or something weird like that. I'm disappointed that my triumphant return will be ruined by my less than amazing looking opponent, but the good news is I get to personally make sure she gets destroyed utterly." 

General attitudes remained the same during the setup. Jameson, making her entrance in a yellow sling bikini, put on a well practiced show for the fans during the setup, largely ignoring the actual proceedings in favor of cute poses. Seeberg, in a blue one piece, did her best to tease her rival, but to no effect. Rose McGowan, brought in as a combination MC and referee, locked the cage once Seeberg was inside. The pretty brunette's appearance had been something of a last minute announcement, though by now any critic inclined to question decisions from management had long since given up. McGowan, dressed in a black and white sleeveless top with a low neckline, black skirt, and black opera gloves, did not present the image of a serious referee. However, she managed to keep things together until the bell, controlling both fighters with no outside assistance (none would be forthcoming, as the cage was locked) and making the necessary introductions (conveniently glossing over the resumes of both fighters). 

Round 1 

With Seeberg's debut enough of an oddity on its own, and the event itself putting additional instability into the equation, no one was quite sure how the rookie actress would fare in the opening. The first results were shockingly average -- Seeberg displayed a decent grasp of the basics, but tended to wilt under pressure from her opponent, who had experience outside of laboratory conditions. Seeberg showed promise for brief periods and kept Jameson in check, but Jameson did consistently land her swings. Even worse for Seeberg, after her loss she was forced to face her trainer during the break. 

Round 2 

In the second round, evidence suggested that Seeberg's weakness was not getting yelled at, as the blonde actress showed massive improvement after much needed one on one time with her trainer. Looking more reliable under fire, the actress beat Jameson back early on, hitting but overcoming numerous speed bumps along the way. Soon, it was Jameson's turn to play defense as her taller attacker pulled further ahead. 

Round 3 

In the third round, Jameson faced further difficulty as her rookie opponent continued to overperform. After earning herself a solid punch in the mouth during a poor opening performance, Jameson began to up the ante with a much riskier all out offense. The retired porn star had some success, but not enough. Seeberg's reach advantage proved troublesome for Jameson, and the blonde actress managed to club her rival periodically as she continually adjusted herself. However, Seeberg could not claim total dominance either; her shorter opponent managed to break through occasionally, and Seeberg's jaw paid the price. The point advantage went to the bruised but pleased Seeberg at the bell, though the result only seemed to solidify Jameson's resolve. 

Round 4 

Bruised but looking battle ready, Jameson persistently prodded her opponent's defenses in the opening of the fourth round. With the experiment a success, the former porn star was able to go after Seeberg effectively, winning exchanges clearly by shutting down the actress' offense. While Seeberg remained unhurt, Jameson was in control, and several times the blonde actress was forced to scamper out of danger, swinging wildly to reset Jameson's advantage, narrowly avoiding being pinned down and taking a beating she could ill afford. 

Round 5 

Jameson's period of dominance fell apart in the fifth round early on as Seeberg stood her ground in each encounter, giving back better than she got until her opponent was forced back. After a few successes, Seeberg became dissatisfied with control and pursued something more, getting what she wanted by chasing Jameson down after another failed attack. What followed was an unsophisticated but effective beating; Jameson continually tried to dig herself out of the hole and Seeberg easily put her back in. Jameson was on her feet at the bell, but not looking her best, as Seeberg had landed solid head shots mixed in with her less efficient attacks. The break saw Jameson slumped on her stool, staring ahead blankly with sweat gluing strands of hair to her face, while Seeberg eagerly awaited the next round. 

Round 6 

Jameson had little fight left in the sixth round. Seeberg wasted little time, slugging the shorter blonde right out of the gate as she struggled to mount an offense. Several more quick blows from Seeberg left an increasingly disoriented Jameson swinging a fist at the air beside Seeberg. The movement caused the dazed woman to lean into Seeberg's fist as the actress closed to finish the fight. Jameson was knocked backwards in an instant, only managing to avoid being left flat on her back by becoming tangled in the ropes. The former porn star slid down, eventually ending up on her side with one hand on the bottom rope, unaware that the count had passed her by entirely. 

Seeberg stood over Jameson, hands on her hips, looking quite satisfied with her opponent's condition. The retired porn star remained on the ground in a daze, unaware of her opponent's presence, or the crowd chanting her name. McGowan seized the opportunity to grab the victorious actress by the wrist and raise her hand, causing her to happily ignore her victim for a moment. However, when Jameson managed to struggle to a sitting position, Seeberg would not be distracted. Picking up her victim and setting her upright in the corner, the blonde actress leaned in and whispered something in her confused victims ear before bringing a fist up into her stomach. Jameson whimpered, tilting her head away from her rival and attempting to sneak back down to the floor where it was safe. Seeberg would not have it, striking the helpless woman twice more before McGowan could politely pry her off, grabbing her firmly by the arm and taking her for a victory lap around the ring. Seeberg smiled and waved while McGowan, on her arm, stared up at her with a fascinated look on her face. Jameson, meanwhile, still not in the best of shape, tried to rise, attracting Seeberg's attention. The victorious actress began to excitedly trot over to the beaten woman's corner. Jameson, showing some self preservation, flopped back down to the ground, and with some encouragement from McGowan, the winner finished her victory lap. 

Once the cage had been opened, and Jameson made an exit with some assistance, Seeberg faced McGowan for the interview. "I did it!" exclaimed the actress excitedly. "I know I had a lot of doubters, but I think I showed all of them. And if Jenna wants to try again, I'll knock her out even faster next time!" 

The period before the cage opened caused some frantic activity among the remaining fighters' staff as they rushed to confirm that Jameson's suffering had been a mistake. However, since the event staff made no adjustments, it was safe to say that the first match had gone exactly as intended.
