 Danielle Campbell vs. Brenda Song
Results: Lookout    Writing: Archer
Danielle:  20 YO, 5’3/1.60 m. 1-3-0 since 2014, Pretty Little Punchers
Brenda: 27 YO, 5’2/1.57 m. 20-18-0 since 2007, Bazz Fight Club

Before: Brenda Song at her badass best in the pre-fight, she hounds Danielle Campbell mercilessly at press events, once even tearing  off one of Dani’s trademark DC Comics tee shirts off. Pretty Little Punchers go to DEFCOM One to keep the gleeful troublemaker from the Bazz Fight Club from harassed their youngest fighter any further . Danielle trying to keep up a stiff upper lip in the face these tactics.

“She is just a bully you know,” DC tells Archer News Skip Tracey, “and everyone knows bullies do what they do because at heart they are afraid. From all the trouble she’s caused me—Brenda Song must be really afraid of me. I am not going to let it distract me from my fight prep, but I will tell you Brenda is going to regret picking on—er—harassing me!  I fight back in the ring and beating her to a pulp is going to be a career highlight!”

Brenda Song laughs at these brave words: “I’m ‘picking on’ her? What is this? Elementary school playground? I’m not picking on her—I’m rattling her cage, putting the fear of Brenda Song into her cuddly little body, and setting her up to be taken apart before her family and friends. Now, that may sound a bit mean-spirited, but, hey, this is a mean sport. You’re here to knock your opponent out (if you’re lucky) and that’s what I love to do. Plus I always enjoy showing a hapless rookie how she doesn’t really belong in a ring with a real fighter like me.  I would not be surprised to see her quit and take up something safe like  badminton.”

Responding to Brenda’s roasting words, DC tells Skip: “She’s even more scared me than I thought. I refuse to let her scare me off—and besides, there is no way I quit boxing even if I can’t beat her. I love the sport too much and I’ll go on no matter what she does!”

Brenda comes to the ring in an sea green one piece swimsuit with matching gloves and boots (gold laces for both). She smirks as Danielle enters wearing a red bikini top and black bikini bottoms, Red gloves with black laces, black boots with red laces. Danielle’s hair piled on top of her head. Brenda’s pulled back into a French braid with a sea green ribbon woven in. Brenda reaches out and strokes Danielle’s hair like she’s petting a cat. Danielle twists away indignantly. Referee has to jump to restore order and get the fighters to their corners for the opening bell.

R1:  Brenda on the attack with confidence lights up Danielle’s forehead as the newcomer crouches behind her high guard. Then Brenda catches DC by surprise in dropping down to pound away at her youthful belly. Dani backs up, gurgling with pain, and Brenda bangs the youngster’s cheekbones with some solid lefts and rights. Not looking good for the rookie until Danielle suddenly remembers her jab and splatters Brenda’s face as she leans in a bit too casually. Brenda jerks her head back with a cut to her left eyebrow and a red mark on the bridge of her nose. She’s not too pleased about this and goes back in with some heavy shots to DC’s chest. Impacts knock Danielle back, but she sees an opening and instinctively fires a right uppercut between Brenda’s gloves and smacks her hard under the chin. Brenda doing a shaky dance backwards, she felt that uppercut and Dani lunges to follow up. Unfortunately. Brenda blocks Dani’s incoming right with her left and fires a straight right into DC’s nose. DC lets a moan escape as a trickle of red coming out of the nose, but the rookie snaps her guard up. Blocked high, Brenda goes to the body as Dani twists to evade her. Danielle punching back nicely to score points, but Brenda hitting harder mainly to the ribs and belly. Round ends in a close Brenda Song win, but she’s not looking happy and neither is Danielle Campbell.

R2:  DC and Brenda battle for control of this round right from the bell. They charge each other and the punches fly once they get within range. Fast moving action without much defense early on and fans get to enjoy heads being swiveled, bodies battered and jugs jolted. DC not seeming to be intimidated by Brenda’s bombardment of her boobs, just grits her teeth and gives Brenda counters right to the breast cups. Brenda breaks off the jugg mugging to swat DC to head, but DC’s got good head movement now and she’s getting more clips of Brenda’s chin to shake the older fighter up.  Defense now returns late in the round with some jabbing whenever one or the other tries to come in. Dani adding some good swipes to Brenda’s tummy and Brenda grows more cautious as time runs out. Danielle comes away smiling with a close win on points. She has the nerve to give Brenda Song a playful swat on the bottom! The nerve of that kid! Brenda whirls around ready to tackle DC, but referee throws himself between them. After a finger wagging lecture to Ms. Campbell order is restored (but ref misses when DC stick her tongue out  defiantly at Brenda who stamps her foot in anger, but is locked up by referee and will have to wait to get her revenge).

R3: Brenda Song in a fury between rounds, kicking her spit bucket and waving her gloved fist at a smirking DC Campbell among other outbursts. Trainer tries to get Brenda calmed down and refocused, but bell rings before the job can be accomplished. Brenda comes barreling across the ring at DC, who manages to duck under Brenda’s rage-fueled blockbuster right and pop up to smite Brenda under the chin. That puts the Bazz fighter on trembling stems and DC plows right into her trying to shoulder Brenda back to the ropes while firing rights into her tummy. Brenda manages a desperate right to Danielle’s jaw which stuns the rookie and allows Brenda to stagger away from the ropes. DC shakes off the jaw shot and goes after Brenda who is trying to pull herself together at center ring. Danielle goes to the belly first to double Brenda forward and then rips upward with a powerful rights and lefts into Brenda’s. BRENDA SONG GOES DOWN! Brenda falling to her knees, looks up plaintively as blood drips from the reopened cut over her eye, lips and nose leaking crimson as well. Referee starting to count as DC watches anxiously from neutral corner. Can she have just pulled off a major upset? BRENDA SONG BEATS THE COUNT! Face wrecked and bleeding, but Brenda standing and telling ref she can go on! However Brenda strictly on the defensive to the end of the round. Danielle cheered loudly by her fans and goes happily to her corner. Brenda walks back to her stool, grimly aware blind fury is not a good adviser in the ring.

R4:  Bazz corner people working hard to patch Brenda up during the break, but she looks woozy as she slowly comes off her stool. DC seems a bit cautious early on, not sure this isn’t some sort of veteran trick, but some probing punches and lightning lunges soon show a lot of energy has gone out of Brenda Song. So Danielle quickly ups the pressure and tries to drive Brenda back to the ropes. Brenda not fighting back hard, but she is fighting back using some good defensive skills to blunt Danielle’s attacks. DC landing a lot of punches, but they are not the sort that will get Brenda down again. DC seems to accept this and concentrates on keeping her punch rate up and., indeed, wins the round by a wide margin. Sharp-eyed fans note that Brenda walks briskly back to her stool, but Danielle is not among them, she is waving to her cheering fans, soaking in the support on her way to her corner.

R5: Danielle approaching Brenda more quickly this round eager to do battle. At first Brenda seems content to stay on the defensive with her jab and evasive body moves, but when Dani pauses to decide where to attack next, the older fighter strikes. It is a right sweeping up over DC’s lowered mitts and straight into her nose! DC shudders and freezes as the pain of her now bleeding nose goes through her body. Brenda just surging into the rookie pounding her face from side to side, then adding a quick uppercut. Dani in big trouble, but she gets her right into Brenda’s left eye. Now it’s Brenda’s turn to feeling a rush of pain as that eyebrow cut reopens. Both fighters hurting and trying to keep some distance while they recover. Action resumes within seconds, but not so intense now as they circle and strike. Late in the round DC makes a rush, striking first to Brenda’s side ribs and then going for her face (likely aiming at the now swollen area above the left eye). Brenda jabbing hard finally drives DC back with a shot to Dan’s swollen nose! Dani shuddering again, but bell rings before Brenda can take advantage. Brenda is able to break DC’s string of round wins by taking this one narrowly.

R6: Now it’s the PLP corner crew working on their fighter to get that nose repaired in time for the next round. Brenda’s Bazz people working on her problem left eye. Impressive amount of damage done to both fighters, but they are both off their stools with grim determination as the bell rings. The two clash at midring and it is a close-in action from thereon.  Crowd loves the sight of these two petite warriors bruised and sweating bodies straining to the utmost as they battle it out with body punches that are just pounding belly, breasts and ribs. DC managing to get in little uppies to score Brenda’s chin. Not hard, but the damage seems to accumulate until Brenda backs off protectively and allows Danielle win the round close.

R7: Brenda keeping DC at a distance at this round opens. She is now showing mobility and obliging Danielle to keep up with her. Dani seems able to do this, but it is loosening her defenses and Brenda starts firing straight shots through the gaps. DC starting to take a lot of hits to the head though she manages to keep her swollen nose protected. Danielle’s cheekbones puffy and discolored, jaw liner not looking much better, but she jabs strongly to try to restore the defenses. Brenda then goes down to the midsection and gives that area another working over. Danielle starting to look tired as she tries to protect her middle only to get her face swatted around. Dani’s jabbing finally gets Brenda to back off late, but she has won this round convincingly.

R8:  Brenda watching Dani closely during break. DC is lolling back against the turnbuckle as her people work on her. Brenda’s got that killer smile for the first time tonight. She’s liking what she sees on the other corner. Still, Brenda takes her time, getting to Dani. She starts out with some quick shots to the body, raps the head a couple times and then works on herding Dani around the ring. DC struggling to find the strength to deal with this latest Brenda offensive, but her counters her faltering and poorly directed. Brenda then slowly builds up the pressure to the body, belly punching steady but relentless. Then Brenda’s young jugs come under attack and she tries to back away, but Brenda’s got her cut off. By the second minute, Danielle finds herself against the ropes and Brenda closes the show. First it is drumfire attack to the belly that leaves DC’s knees a-tremble, then her head gets banged hard from side to side and finally an uppercut right into that nose. DC lets out a loud moan, falls forward as Brenda steps aside and lies on the canvas all curled up, gloves pressed against her agonized nose.
Brenda walks calmly to the neutral corner and the referee starts counting. Dani struggling to get up. Her hair has come out its top knot and now hangs in sweaty tendrils over bruised and swollen face. Her eyes are burning with pain and desperation as she grasps rope trying to pull herself up ahead of the count. Crowd holds its collective breath as she reaches a crouching position, but then she lurches back against the ropes and slides back down into a sitting position, she hangs her head in defeat, knowing she will not be able to rise. Sure enough, it is soon at “TEN! YOU’RE OUT!”

Mixture of cheers and boos as a grinning Brenda Song lifts both arms in victory.

The Winner: BRENDA SONG KO8!

After: Brenda has her gloves removed and pushes her way across the ring to pull Danielle Campbell off her stool and her around the ring. Dani protesting groggily, trying to pull away from Brenda, who responds by grabbing DC’s black bikini bottoms and giving her a wedgie that forces her to complete the journey on her toes. DC refusing to cry out so as not to give her hated opponent the satisfaction. Sasha Pieterse finally comes over to wrestle Dani away from Brenda and get her to the safety of the PLP dressing rooms.

“I was never in trouble with her,” Brenda claims later, “that knockdown was a slip. This black eye? She got lucky, but I was the better fighter and I made sure she knows that now!”

“I ran out of gas,” Danielle admits in post-fight, “I have got to find a way to go the distance in these fights or this will happen to me again. I was able to hurt Brenda, but not finish her hen I had the chance. That was the difference in this fight.”

Very intense and exciting contest, but Danielle just not able to keep up with the more seasoned Brenda over the last half of the fight. Post-fight rumors say PLP has brought in a new conditioning team. Meanwhile Brenda Song has taken out another young fighter and is no doubt looking around for who she can beat next. The fans will be eagerly awaiting what happens next.
