Press Conference
(Post-Stable War)

Words: Lookout! Boxing.

It's standing room only inside the Lookout! Boxing press room, although Michelle Trachtenberg and security are doing their best to manage the chaos, exhibited by the steady stream of press, fans and fighters who enter the room to hear from the stable following their stable war, as rumors of roster changes have swirled through the air and judging by the lack of some of the fighters being present, those might well be true. However, to truly determine the accuracy of any assumptions, eager reporters would have to wait to hear from Paris Hilton, who was stepping up to the podium and requesting quiet in order that she could speak. When that didn't happen immediately from the buzz in the press room, Paris waited and a snap of her fingers got the attention of the room, causing them to settle down.

Seated at the front table were Vanessa Hudgens, Emily VanCamp, Nina Dobrev, Elisha Cuthbert, Missy Peregrym, Yvonne Strahovski, Kate Upton, Michelle Trachtenberg and Paris Hilton. The rest of the stable at the moment was conspicuous by their absences, although Minka had just finished the main event and was assumed to be along briefly.

“Good evening and thank you all for coming out here tonight to witness this event!” Paris said with a smile, giving a brief wave before gripping the podium and looking out over the crowd. One hand came up to brush her hand through her platinum blonde hair with a determined look in her eyes, “I plan on getting right to it. When we announced to and agreed to this stable war, we discussed the distinct possibility of changes. While we are very, very proud of our stable, it's always best not to get too complacent as we always want to keep moving forward and never wanting to get stuck in one place, no matter how successful we feel we are doing.”

One reporter raised his hand, but a withering glare from Paris had him bring his hand down immediately.

Paris pointed to a plaque overhead one of the nearby doors, “I don't know whether you can read that, but we have many such quotes appearing all over the building and that door, one of the entrances to our building, has one of the mottos that we abide by each and every day, which is: “Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious...and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” and that is a quote by Walt Disney. Innovation is key to success and that is what we're going to do today. As you may or may not have noticed, I've not been involved in the day to day operations of the stable as consistently as I'd like and that's a result of my busy lifestyle.”

A brief slideshow of some of Paris' recent adventures played out on the background for a moment as Paris beamed, one hand on her hips as the other hand examined her nails. Once it was finished, Paris turned back to the assembled crowd, “As you can see, I am VERY busy but I remain committed as ever to Lookout! Boxing. I will continue to own, help fund and contribute to what I consider to be the best stable in the FCBA but day to day operations will be transferring to one of our very own. While she isn't necessarily retiring, she will be taking a step back from seeking continually active competition. We consider her to be one of the best in the league and no matter what others might say, she's a Hall-of-Famer in our eyes. There is no question that on any day and anywhere, she can take out the best that her division has to offer and we hope that she brings that spirit to leading our stable into a new era, please give a warm welcome to our new managing director: Elisha Cuthbert!”

The shock and buzz from this announcement was immediate as Elisha rose to her feet, grinning as she strode over to the podium and exchanged hugs with both Michelle Trachtenberg and Paris Hilton, who stepped to the side to allow Elisha to speak. Of course, that wasn't easy with the sudden stream of questions being fired and Paris stepped forward to say something, but Elisha intercepted her with a quick shake of her head. Elisha smiled as she raised her right hand into the air and snapped two of her fingers together with an audible “SNAP” echoing over the rumble from the crowd, who seemed to calm down.

Once the din had subsided, Elisha laughed and said, “Now, we can get started. There's a few things I'd like to address and then we can certainly take some questions...” Elisha took a moment to lean over to Michelle Trachtenberg, nodding briefly before stepping back up to the podium.

Elisha took a deep breathe before leaning forward to speak clearly into the microphone, though things were so quiet at the moment that she didn't really need to raise her voice, “The first order of business is to announce that, effective immediately, we have traded Minka Kelly to the Lioness Club of America.”

The buzz was immediate and palpable as reporters and fans immediately took notice of that declaration. Even other fighters in the crowd appeared surprised by the announcement. The number one contender for the bantamweight belt had just been traded to a rival stable as the crowd began whispering about the long-standing power struggle between Minka Kelly and Elisha Cuthbert – one which it would appear that Elisha had just won within the organization. Cuthbert's follow-up comments did little to dispel that.

“Before anybody gets carried away, this was a mutual decision between Minka and our stable. The Lioness Club of America has been long interested in Minka and the feeling has been reciprocal over the years. With the ascension of Emily VanCamp and Nina Dobrev, we have not been able to fully support Minka or to be honest, myself, which is why I'm moving into a management position. However, I'll still be able to take fights if and when they interest me. I have a “final” match planned and am in discussions with that stable now. However, I'll say that if Minka had remained with Lookout! Boxing, I have absolutely no doubt she would've been able to carry out our vision for the stable under my leadership, but perhaps it's for the best that we don't need to find out. Lookout! Boxing is going to continue to work hard to be the best possible stable in the league...”

Many observers in the crowd didn't listen for a moment as they didn't believe for a moment that the decision had been mutual, but they didn't get to dwell on that for long as Elisha continued and the next statement made them sit up to take notice.

“Unfortunately, being a leader means making some of the tough decisions in order to keep your organization at the top and as a result, we have made some of those difficult decisions to get our fighters consistent work. Also effective immediately, Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Caity Lotz, Ashley Tisdale – in addition to the already traded Minka Kelly – have been released from Lookout! Boxing. This is not a criticism of them or their careers, but we are choosing to focus on the positives in that the remaining stable members are going to continue to work towards the top with each and evey match they participate in. We, of course, wish them the best and will be working with each and every one of them to see whether we can find them new management. We appreciate everything they have done for this stable and have no doubt they will find work before long. Given the difficulty of this change and the transition for their boxing careers, we have decided to hold a separate but private ceremony to allow them to say goodbye to their fellow stable members.”

Elisha took a moment as she looks like she was getting a little emotional as reporters took a moment to observe the scene as none of the fighters sitting around the table looked too shocked at the moment as it appeared they had been prepared prior to the press conference. Not too much in advance, however, as it appeared that Vanessa Hudgens was positively furious with this turn of events.

Once Elisha was able to resume, “Now, we aren't going to dwell on who isn't here as they are definitely going to be missed and this does not preclude them from coming back later, if they were willing to resume with us, either on the roster or in a different capacity, but we are very proud of all of our fighters. Now, the current roster is going to be our roster for the foreseeable future, though we still reserve the right to make additional changes as events warrant or the situation dictates. Now, for example, we are going to be adding another flyweight here in the next few days. We are a huge fan of intra-stable rivalries as we believe that they really push one another towards being better and competition can work out for the best! However, due to the sensitive nature of this transition, we are holding off on any announcement for the time being.”

Already there was a lot of speculation about the next flyweight to join the stable in the wake of these incredible roster changes but again, as seemed to be the theme for this press conference, things kept forward as Elisha stated with a smile, “Now, I'm sure you all are eager to go follow up and file these stories with the news cycle so competitive, but we will take a few questions about tonight's fights...”

Immediately, a reporter with the Archer News Services was the first to have his hand recognized as he asked, generally, “How does it feel to win a stable war against one of your biggest rivals? I know you've had some stable war success in the past, but how does this one feel?”

Vanessa Hudgens responded just as quickly, “First of all, I don't know whether we really “won” tonight.” as Michelle Trachtenberg tried to say something, but Elisha allowed Vanessa to continue, “We lost Minka Kelly and the lightweight championship, plus some of the best d*mn fighters this stable has ever seen in the aftermatch. However, beating up Jessica FINALLY has me feeling so freaking good. I took down her friend Annalynne recently too and of course we had Neens taking down Shenae Grimes tonight too, so it doesn't matter whether it's the CW, whether it's ABC Family...”

“Or the Little Liars....” Nina interjected, “Because they sure as hell aren't pretty compared to us. I'm, as I've been very clear on, the prettiest fighter in the league and anybody who wants to dispute that, can certainly take that up with me. Personally, I think that's one of the reasons that Minka left. I know she's beaten me a few times....”

Emily VanCamp snorted, “You mean like every time....”

Nina continued angrily, glaring over at EVC, “But, that's probably why she requested to be traded. Threatened by me. Our last couple of matches were pretty close and she knew it was only a matter of time before I overtook her as the prettiest and the tuffest in the stable.”

Emily rolled her eyes, as Nina kept talking “But, Shenae Grimes has gotten a taste of what's in store for her if she ever tries to take me on again. Obviously standards at the CW have fallen, but I am the CW Hegemon and I am going to bring this organization to the top, even over Disney – sorry Nessa – and if I have to drag their chubby asses up with me, then you can freaking bet I will.”

“Of course, I'd like to take a moment to address this CW thing as we just took down Jessica Lowndes and if her fat ass learned any lesson from me kicking it, it's that she better stay out of my way. What I did to her tonight was only a taste of what I've got in store for her if she ever stands in my way again. I warned her that I was better, fitter and that I was going to get my revenge. I will never have her gross body standing over me ever again or her inferior boobs in my face, alright? I'm going to get my freaking flyweight title back and prove I am the fittest flyweight in the FCBA. In fact, the entire Lioness Club of America better back off, because Selena and I have always been good friends, but right now, she's the reason that I don't have Tizzy with me here tonight and so, she better watch out!! Tonight's win over loser Lowndes is dedicated in honor of my best friend, Ashley Tisdale.”

Elisha Cuthbert added, “And of course, to the rest of our excellent roster. Of course, every single win is a good win. I've been a part of many stable wars in the past and it's always exciting to win whenever you get an opportunity. We get along well with the management of the Lioness Club, although there are certainly some differences between many of our roster members. For example, I have great respect for Nichole Scherzinger, but personally, I didn't necessarily get along with her. A lot of talk about how she was the best on the beach. I've won a ton of matches on the beach and to hear her talk about how she is the best today just made me mad.”

Yvonne Strahovski grinned as she chimed in, “And you don't want to see her angry...”

The audience laughed quite a bit at this remark, but once that died down, a reporter from Blonde Magazine took a moment to ask, “And Yvonne, how do you feel, after losing the Lightweight Championship to one of your biggest rivals and a brunette?”

“I've had better days.” Yvonne said coolly, though, “As much as I'm a proud blonde and happy to be a 'Golden Goddess', hair color doesn't matter to me that much once I get into the ring. Blonde, brunette, redhead or whatever, all that matters is I need to hit you harder and that's what I've been doing throughout my career. Tonight and there's no sugarcoating it, Odette put it all together and she was better. But, I want to make it clear, that's for tonight. Next time is going to be definitely different.”

“There has been some speculation over whether Odette was able to get any psychological advantage, whether this is due to it being a set battle in addition to being a championship match or whether a letdown after defending the battle against one of the league's all time-greats, Charlize Theron. Any thoughts on that?” a reporter from Brunette Magazine was quick to follow up with.

“Let me make it real clear that Odette did not get into my head. Whether she got into anywhere else, you'll have to watch the tape for that but whether she got any kind of advantage over me mentally...” Yvonne gave a dismissive shake of her head, “No. I'm too freaking smart for that. I don't think I experienced any letdown after taking on Charlize, who I have to say, I totally respect, but I think those results speak for themselves. But, upsets happen. I mean, look recently at Serena Williams. One of the biggest matches of her career and she just lost. Simple as that. I've never lost a battle for set dominance on any show I've ever been part of going back to Chuck, Dexter, 24 and if Odette thinks for one moment that she is suddenly set Alpha, she is going to be in for a rude awakening. What she did to me after the match is not something I'm going to tolerate for a minute and so, first opportunity I get, her ass is mine.

Another reporter from the FCBA Tattler asked: “Do you still consider yourself to be one of, if not the best, pound for pound fighters in the league?”

Yvonne gazed coolly at the reporter with a smirk playing on her lips, “Absolutely.”

A reporter from FCBA Magazine asked next, of Kate Upton: “As a world-class supermodel yourself, a lot of your fighters tend to be up against other models. Do those battles bring up an extra level of competitive edge and do you tend to fight harder in those?”

Kate smiled, leaning forward to give the cameras a good view of her infamous cleavage, “Like Vonnie said, it doesn't matter necessarily who you're facing in the ring. You just want to walk out with a win and more import_antly, just be the one walking out proud. Having said that though, the modeling world is competitive enough as it is and we all believe, on some level, that we're the hottest, we're the fittest, we're the best. Getting to get into the ring to actually determine that is always a visceral thrill and that's why I love taking on other models. Early in my career, I took on girls like Adriana Lima and Bar Refaeli and fell short, but I kept getting better and now I've beaten girls like Paula Patton, Catherine Bell, Jeri Ryan, Gemma Atkinson, and Alexandra Daddario just to name a few. Models bring out a little extra to a match...”

“What do you think models bring to a match that might not normally be there?” a correspondent from Boxing World Online asked.

“You tell me....” Kate smirked as she leaned backwards for a moment, shaking her jugs for a moment as the crowd laughed and cheered, “But, seriously, besides the obvious, a lot of people don't take models seriously. We're hot and everything, but people don't seem to appreciate just how smart, tough and talented we are. But, now I'm the JMDD Champion, we've got Miranda as the Queen of the Ice Hotel and plenty of models waiting to go after more gold. We're not going to stop there. If we want more belts, we're freaking sure going to take them and if anybody tries to stop us, good luck to them. Karolina is one of the hardest hitters I've taken on, but I don't expect anything less from a fellow model. We are always competing to be the top model and by the time I'm done around here, I plan on being the best. I know there are plenty of girls like that cow Charlotte McKinney, Brooklyn Decker, Stacy Keibler, Adriana Lima, Candice Swanapoel, Bar Refaeli, Miranda Kerr and so many others that I want to take on, whether it's JMDD, regulation or both, but I am going to the next Top Model here in the league.”

“Anything else to add on a potential new flyweight coming to the stable?” a reporter from Fighting Ingenue asked quickly.

“We'll have something to announce in a few days.” Michelle Trachtenberg said with a smile, “Give it a little time but just to fuel your fires coming up, we do already have somebody in mind.”

“Any other thoughts on the fallout from tonight's stable war?” another member of the Fifth Estate, this time from Tractorpull Magazine, asked.

“Addition by subtraction...” Nina said with a smirk “We are all going to miss those fighters who aren't going to be with us on a day by day basis, training and working with us, but those of us who are still here are going to work harder than ever to make sure we are consistently awesome. Other tv shows, rosters and rivals better watch out.”

Vanessa shook her head, “Disney girls are clearly the best, so I don't think we've necessarily added anything by losing talented fighters like Ashley, but we are going to hopefully be a stronger and closer stable because of it. I plan on being the best freaking flyweight around, no matter who they add to the roster and I do plan on being part of those discussions, no matter who they have in mind.”

Emily VanCamp smiled, “While I got to be on the sidelines of this particular stable war, I've been the subject of a stable war tonight and so, I know how it feels. With all due respect to anybody currently or recently on the roster, I think I've been the best bantamweight here for some time now and now that I'm the lead bantam...”

“Says who?” Nina said furiously.

“Says the girl who didn't lose to Miley “Twerking Terror” Cyrus...” Emily said with a smirk, “And the girl who has held the bantamweight title TWICE now and trust me, a freaking third is on the way. Minka may be the number one contender, but while YOU can't beat her, you're going to see that I totally can...”

A verbal altercation erupted between the two as a new power struggle at bantamweight appeared to be starting, while Missy Peregrym rose from her chair to try to pull the two apart as she was one of the voices of sanity throughout this Stable War event. As she did, Elisha Cuthbert stepped back up to the podium with a smile, “Clearly, we have a lot of exciting times ahead for our stable and as you've heard some of the remaining members speak up, there are a lot of plans ahead. Some of the girls who have caused our stable trouble tonight are definitely part of our future plans, which are going to include regulation bouts, JMD and JMDD bouts. Of course, despite the results, our congratulations go out to Selena Gomez, Charlotte Church and Odette Yustman and to each and every fighter who competed tonight. We couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to compete here in the FCBA against some of the best singers, actresses, celebrities and yes, athletes in the world. It's an honor and one we are going to take very seriously as we begin a new and exciting era in Lookout! Boxing.”

Vanessa Hudgens, Emily VanCamp, Nina Dobrev, Missy Peregrym, Yvonne Strahovski, Kate Upton all stood up along with Paris, Emily and Michelle to hold hands high up into the air to show off the current roster of Lookout! Boxing, which was certainly 'new', but whether it was improved would be something for the future to determine. Numerous photos were being taken of the new roster, hand in hand united, but it was a fair question to ask whether this would last and whether these changes would bring them closer together in the long run. This was a bold shake-up, especially at the start of Elisha Cuthbert's tenure as the manager of Lookout! Boxing, with Minka Kelly gone along with the lightweight championship, but sometimes, fortune favors the bold. Whether this would be one of those times would be something industry observers would be watching very closely in the future! For the time being, they would have to stay tuned to see how this stable, the Lioness Club and the rest of the league responded to this change and the ripples it might cause throughout, if any. Things should be very interesting going forward...!
