BEFORE: Katherine Jenkins' career is nothing short of a disaster over the past three years, the Welsh diva racked up eleven consecutive defeats and finds herself fighting for pride rather than a proper salary against Australian newcomer Samantha Jade. The bubbly brunette rocketed to fame thanks to the domestic X Factor show - and that's a popular theme to make the celebrity boxing grade given Fleur East and Rebecca Ferguson's endeavours lately - but it's almost an insult to a classically trained singer like Jenkins. However when you've lasted tasted victory in July 2012, then everything comes in handy, even an undercard scrap against a completely unknown opponent. Hopefully the faithful Cardiff audience will at least provide some proper support for the blonde struggler tonight.

Samantha Jade wears a neon green bandeau bikini and silver gloves. Katherine Jenkins wears a navy blue basque top, white hotpants and white gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Jade's trainer Holly Valance is an experienced campaigner and she orders her girl to stalk the blonde singer straight from the bell which results in a massive barrage of punches that immediately puts Katherine under severe pressure. The high guard begins to buckle very fast exposing all of Jenkins' defensive flaws and even the Cardiff support helps very little as Samantha lits up the head snapping display and barges her way into the blonde's rack to make her scowl in pain. Katherine almost tumbles down in the corner before being backed up into the ropes; she bends forward underneath all that Aussie power and is whipped against the ropes when Samantha rushes in with more jabs. The precision lets the rookie down in the final minute and despite a pillar-to-post beating, she's unable to knock Katherine down which everyone in the BBU HQ is relieved to see. A nightmare start for the Welsh diva!

Round 2:
More punches split the Jenkine guard and even though the blonde finds some response over the top, she can only hang on in the exchange until the minute mark when Samantha nails her with a wild swing to the liver area and sags on soft knees already. Katherine seeks a quick clinch but is wrestled back and as Holly Valance leads the Oz support, Jade cracks a left/right combo on the nose to drop the blonde's guard for good and rips a left cross on the eye TO SEND JENKINS DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE in the middle of the ring. Disaster strikes for the Welsh fans and Katherine can barely shrug the knockdown off, she's up at eight but looking for the exit door already... Samantha gives her no respite after the command and resumes the head snapping show, pounding the lacklustre diva back to the corner where she ignores the leaky high guard and rips more leather into the navel making the older singer groan in pain again... the Welsh demise continues and Katherine simply can't respond anymore. She just bellows out into a desperate earmuff cover with the Aussie brunette hammering down on her midsection and letting all those screams out of the Welsh throat... Ref looks on in horror and somehow wants the local diva to survive the onslaught but when Jade cracks a left hook on the ear to shatter the high guard, Jenkins goes all shimmy shake and effectively collapses into his arms... it's a ruthless no-go for the blonde and the ref spares her the heavy knockout and escorts her back to the corner... TKO2 Samantha Jade!!!

AFTER: That was a five minute drill on how to destroy a Welsh classical singer! It doesn't get any worse than this for Katherine Jenkins who got absolutely smoked here by a vastly superior opponent. However nobody inside the Cardiff Arena knows if Samantha Jade is really that good since she was fed with a terrible mismatch and took full advantage of the circumstances. The Metermaids head coach Holly Valance indicates that former top prospect Amelia Lily Oliver might be a suitable follow up for Samantha and the entire stable doesn't have plans to return to the Oz homeland just yet: "The AFL season's over so we've got nothing to do back there yet... and I'm not really interested in the Bathurst 100 if you ask me..."

Final result: Samantha Jade def. Katherine Jenkins TKO2.
