"ACB VISITS BBU" MINI-CARD FROM CARDIFF ARENA

(Fight Club UK vs The Bondi Babes)

BEFORE: When Ali Bastian knocked out Emily Blunt every BBU fan thought they've got a genuine blonde bombshell just announcing her arrival. However the Fight Club UK based actress was subsequently rushed in too soon against divisional elite Sayuki Matsumoto and Helena Mattsson and her stock plummetted dramatically ever since to the point even Lioness Club journeywoman Zoe Salmon was able to dispatch her in just five rounds last year. The recovery proccess begins right here in Cardiff with the Bondi Babes veteran Sarah Wynter ready to enter the female celebrity boxing scene aged 42 and not exactly setting the odds on fire.

Bastian's prospects still look extremely better than Katherine Jenkins' so the Samantha Jade one-woman show from the opening bout of the night doesn't channel any negative vibes for the Welsh crowd. This only changes when they learn that Wynter's coach at the Bondi Babes stable is the pro boxer Lauryn Eagle who certainly knows everything about throwing a mean punch or two!

Ali Bastian wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Sarah Wynter wears a floral schemed yellow & green bikini set and neon green gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Ali's quick to pounce on the veteran but gets blocked off in mid distance and both women trade meaningless jabs for most of the round unlikely to break their stride. The fight becomes a complete turnaround from the frantic if one-sided Jade/Jenkins clash but Ali finally kicks into gear late in the going and swings a couple of hooks grazing Sarah's temples and forces the older blonde into a more agile movement. However Wynter fails to prevent a left/right combo bursting into her face and Bastian jumps into a quick flurry of jabs straight up the alley to rock the veteran's head back & forth in the dying seconds which meets an angry response from the coach Eagle. Sarah barely lands a clean punch in that exchange and allows Ali to back her up into the turnbuckle, being lucky enough to see the clock expire moments later.

Round 2:
Sarah's forced into more quick moves on her feet as Ali gallops into her midsection trying to take full advantage of that sluggish start. She keeps swinging over the top but Wynter's agile enough to escape trouble and mounts a slow response jabbing at the fellow blonde's body. There isn't much breakthrough after a close range tussle where Sarah actually seeks a lenghty clinch to restore her attire and Bastian simply allows her to take over the wrestling struggle. Ref separates them several times but the end result is almost exactly the same and has Wynter obscuring action every way possible; the crowd doesn't like that stalemate at all but coach Eagle looks more relieved during the interval and pads her protegee on the shoulders.

Round 3:
Ali seeks another blitz and clubs the Aussie blonde between the mitts to rock her on the heels instantly; a flurry of overhand jabs backs Sarah into the ropes before a belter of a hook nails her on the liver area and makes her squeal. A ripping uppercut bursts the guard wide open and allows Bastian to slam a one/two hooking combo on the nose... AND WYNTER GOES DOWN... the older actress simply collapses in the corner after taking a solid blast there on her BBU debut! Ali bunny hops around the fallen rival but is forced into more action soon as Wynter shakes the knockdown off at seven... this time she attacks her with wide slaps from both sides but struggles to land that big punch and is overwhelmed by a speedy rush from the English blonde... Ali has much less trouble in landing clean shots and bullies the Aussie veteran into the turnbuckle again where she dumps her into a moaning earmuff defence that makes coach Eagle scream all over the rampant Welsh applause... Sarah takes a solid beating in the corner and if only Ali switched to the gut checking assault quicker, she could have send her down again before the clock expires. Still, it's looking really good for the former Hollyoaks actress now as Sarah displays a hollow look in her eyes and even coach Eagle shakes her head in visible frustration.

Round 4:
Sarah tries to work from the back foot but gets rocked on her feet by another pacey approach from the English blonde who keeps smacking the older woman's cheeks repeatedly in the opening minute and simply drops Wynter's cover. She can land unanswered punches to bruise Sarah's face thereafter and reels her onto the ropes where a quick switch on the midriff makes the outclassed blonde wince in pain. Bastian whips another riffle set on the face and whips Wynter against the turnbuckle; adds a doouble combo on the temples and bends the veteran into a spiralling uppercut on the jaw that bumps a sagging Sarah into the ropes and bounces her into a nasty cross on the mouth... WYNTER GOES DOWN AGAIN... she crashes flat on her face and it's suddenly all gone horribly wrong for the visiting Aussie crew... Sarah really smacked the boards hard and allthough she's up at eight, she looks very wozzy and wobbles into the referee's arms covering her jaw that took a brunt of that last punch as well... coach Lauryn Eagle looks completely distraught rather than angry but she can't do anything about the stoppage... TKO4 Ali Bastian!!!

AFTER: That was a much needed victory for the English blonde which might just save her BBU career from journeywoman status. She turned on the heat on the older actress very quickly tonight and clearly overwhelmed her with numerous barrage of punches. Sarah lasted as long as she could but never mounted a serious comeback and was doomed ever since the first knockdown. The Cardiff Arena would have preferred Katherine Jenkins to celebrate this BBU victory against the ACB visitors but Ali's attractive enough to earn herself a standing ovation too! However Georgie Thompson thinks that's the last UK success on the night since she's heard a lot of positive things about Jesinta Campbell who can secure the Australian crew overall success in the upcoming welterweight finale.

Final result: Ali Bastian def. Sarah Wynter TKO4.
