LUCY HALE VS EMILY BETT RICKARDS
Results: Lookout Writing: Archer
Lucy: 26 YO, 5’2 (1.57 m), 15-17-0 since 2010, Pretty Little Punchers
Emily: 24 YO , 5’5 (1.65 m), 4-0-0 since 2013, Unmanaged.

Before: “This should be an interesting fight for me,” Lucy Hale cheerfully tells the press, “I mean, I’m giving up 3 inches, she looks like she could be a bantam, but I kind of like being ‘Lucy the Amazon Killer’—no offence, Emily, I’m sure you are a nice person even if you did knock out my friends Willa Holland and Sasha Pieterse. Dani Fishel always tells me ‘Just because you’re smaller than most other fighters doesn’t mean they can’t beat them.’ I want to find out if I can be like Dani and take out girls bigger than me. It hasn’t always worked in the past, but I see no reason to stop trying. What am I going to wear? Oh, I you know I always think of myself as a Country Girl, it will be something like that.”

Emily Bett Rickards seems affable enough when she takes the podium, but she is not above giving her petite competition some verbal.

“You know, I almost didn’t take this fight,” Emily says. “I mean what do I get out of it if I beat down Little Lucy? Worse, if the ‘Tiny Terror’ were to actually beat me—it would not be embarrassing, but spoil my undefeated record. Then I decided I couldn’t back down from a challenge so I signed up.”

“Besides, she needed the work—she hasn’t had a fight since May,” Lucy says drawing a icy blonde glare. “I find it interesting you’re afraid I might beat you.”

Emily tries to ignore the brunette’s needling and says: “I see this as a showcase where I might get the attention—and management I deserve.”

“Better be careful, you might get what you deserve—not what want,” Lucy says.

“You know you have a sharp tongue in your mouth,” Emily snaps. “And to think you are supposed to be so sweet.”

“I am sweet—but not to someone who thinks she can add another PLP girl to her ‘Win’ column<” Lucy said.

“So now you’re the PLP ‘enforcer’?” Emily responds struggling to cointain a laugh. “They must be hard up if they got to get you to take me out.”

“You know, if I can’t do it, there is Ashley, :Leah and maybe even Shay or Troi—we’ll just keep on coming Em. One of us will get you—I just want it to be me,” Lucy says with a smile that makes Emily Bett frown.

“You losers just keep on coming—I'll leave you jobbers stacked in the ring if you do!” Emily snaps.

One of the reporters does inquire about Emily’s Halloween attire. The blonde seems relieved at the change of subject and smiles winning:
“I will say it will be ‘Team Arrow’ related,” Emily says.

“Oh great!” Lucy Hale pipes up. “She’s going to come as ‘Felicity the Tech Nerd’—you going to wear glasses? ‘Cause I can wear glasses too and that way we can both hit ‘girls who wear glasses’.”

“Oh, I am SO going to enjoy putting your little ass on the canvas,” Emily huffed.

“Not as much as I’ll enjoy putting your big one on the canvas,” Lucy fires right back.

Emily seizes a pitcher of water next to the podium and marches over to Lucy. Lucy jumps up and just stands there hands on hips with a you-would-not-dare look on her face. Emily Bett smiles and empties the pitcher over Lucy’s head.

Lucy is drenched, but she never moves.

“You realize this means war,” Lucy says in an ominously calm voice, wiping a stray tendril of hair from her face.

“It sure does, see you on Halloween—Tiny Terror!” Emily says marching away.

“Hey, Betts!” Lucy calls and Emily automatically turns around just in time to get a face full of water from a second pitcher Emily had evidently forgotten was next to Lucy.

Emily gets drenched and lets out a scream of fury, then she lunges for the petite brunette who is already lunging for her. The two of them grapple, slip on some water and go down in a heap. They are tearing at each other’s clothes and hair. The bigger Emily is trying to pin Lucy, but the small brunette squirms out from under and tries to pin the blonde. Finally, Security rushes in pull them apart. They are last seen being dragged away to separate exits kicking at each other and uttering dire threats. No surprise the incident is big hit on social media, though neither catfighter will comment beyond “I’ll see her at the PPV.”

It must be said that Lucy Hale sticks to her plan. Accompanied by PLP stablemate Leah Pipes marches to the ring, smiling and waving in a black cowboy hat wearing a black dance skirt and a light blue sleeveless vest over a black halter. The smile vanishes when Emily Bett Rickards marches to the ring. Except for ankle-high boxing boots, Emily is wearing a tight professional skirt and white blouse. Her hair is pulled back into a bun and she’s wearing glasses. A bemused Katie Cassidy accompanies her.

“You are going to fight in that poofy skirt?” Emily asks snarkily.

“No,” Lucy says, stepping out of the skirt to reveal blue jean short shorts, she also hands off the vest and cowboy hat to Leah Pipes. “Beat that.”

Emily smiles wickedly, unzipping the skirt and removing her blouse. She is wearing a black faux leather body suit and black fishnet stockings.

“How very ‘Black Canary’,” Lucy says and turns to Katie, “you better watch out. Bett will be stealing your job next.”

“I’ll risk it,” Katie says as she and her co-star exchange high-fives.

Lucy remains calm and the two fighters are gloved up by their seconds. Once Katie and Leah have departed the ring, the referee takes charge and all seems to go well—until they swipe gloves and the fight nearly right then and there. The referee takes charge and sends them to their corners.

R1: Given the level of hate between the two fighters it is no surprise that they are across the ring and punching away from the opening bell. Exciting and wild leather starts flying as the crowd cheers them on. No sign of defense as both get their heads swatted and jaws smacked hard. Then attention is directed to hammering belly, breasts and some smarting shots to the ribs. Bigger Emily is forcing Lucy to retreat and the brunette eventually is obliged to start using her defensive jab. It’s a good jab and Emily’s face get hit enough to make the blonde more cautious. Emily comes back though and she tries to hammer away through Lucy’s gloves to get at her chin. Lucy moving backwards steadily, but still jabbing and she does make the round close, but Emily B still wins the round. Hot glares between the two after the bell until referee gets between them and averts more conflict.

R2: Lucy ready to duel Emily in close and she is hammering the blonde’s body with determination. Emily not willing to back off is trying to get at Lucy’s head, but thanks to Lucy’s heads movement, more glancing blows than direct hits are striking the Hale noggin. Lucy just grinding forward as she drives her leather into Emily’s body, but Emily steps back and comes right back with some hooks to Lucy’s tummy. Hot action that rages to the bell and referee has to push them apart to stop it. It’s a close round but Lucy Hale pulls it out.

R3: Emily seems to be moving a bit stiffly as this round opens. Lucy goes right back to putting the hurt in the blonde’s body. Emily trying to stay there and trade close-in punches, but she doesn’t like the pressure and starts circling to keep Lucy at bay. Lucy shows some nice footwork as she moves to cut off the ring and start back in on Emily’s achy body with fresh punishment. Emily looking drained of energy as the round wins and the stanza goes wide to Lucy Hale.

R4: Lucy heads for Emily Bett’s body once again at the start of the round, but the blonde has pulled herself together and the brunette is greeted with some rapid-fire jabbing. Lucy’s breasts are the first to feel Emily Rickards’ power and her small body trembles under the initial impacts. Lucy looks hurting and her guard weakens allowing Emily to light up the brunette’s chin with swabbing rights and lefts. Lucy in retreat on rubbery legs as Emily drives her back to the ropes. Lucy goes face-in-gloves, bent over as Emily just pounds away at her ribs. Lucy sliding along the ropes trying to escape but Emily won’t let up. Lucy is actually sitting in the ropes, face still in gloves at the end of the round, but it takes several moments for her to peel herself off the strands and stagger to her stool. No surprise that EB takes this round wide.

R5: Lucy cautious, trying to avoid another trip to the ropes as Emily tries to send her right back to the strands. Lucy doing the circling, trying to evade being cut off and jabbing back defensively. Emily gets more body punches but she seems willing to take them in return for being able to knock Lucy’s head around. However Lucy hanging in there, fighting to keep Emily back, but the sheer volume of punches means the brunette can’t stop them all. Lucy shaken by repeated blows to the chin and the sternum as well. Battle rages to the bell and again the referee has to jump between them to stop the fighting. Round goes to Emily, but Lucy narrow the points gap this time.

R6: Lucy waiting for Emily to come in and then goes after the blonde’s body once again. Emily again having her belly, breasts and robs blasted by the churning attack of the smaller brunette. Emily being forced back looking distressed and Lucy adds to her misery with uppercut to the chin that makes Emily stutter-step backwards, though she does not go down. Emily thrown to the defensive as she tries to keep Lucy back, but Lucy seems fired up and just tearing away at blonde’s body to the bell. Lucy steps back and looks at a worn and battered Emily Rickards, then spins on her heel and marches to her own corner.

R7: Emily slow off her stool as the round gets started. Lucy circling around her, firing in shots as Emily struggles to keep up. Lucy working Emily’s body with steady drumfire of punches until Emily is pushed to the ropes with a forlorn look on her face. Lucy crouching down as Emily takes a seat on the strands pops up with a hammering uppercut into Emily’s chin. Emily ‘s head jerks back as her body shoots erect and then just topples sideways along the ropes. Emily ends up stretched out along the ropes, her right arm hanging limply over the bottom rope as Lucy strides to the neutral corner and the ref moves in. Emily stirs and tries to rise only to sink back down lips slumbering wetly against the canvas as the count reached “…TEN!”
The Winner: Lucy Hale KO7

After: “I want to thank Dani Fishel for her advice on how to cut a bigger opponent down to size! Thank you Dani, you are the greatest!” Lucy proclaims in the crowded ring after her victory. She keeps looking over at Emily Bett Rickards who is being brought around as she leans against the ropes. “And I hope when Emily wakes up they tell her I said ‘I told you that you would end up on your ass at the end of this fight.’ She’s lucky I don’t care to punish a defeated opponent who won’t remember it!”

“I cannot believe how hard that little bully hits,” Emily Rickards acknowledges later, “but it’s really my own fault for letting her get away with it. I should have stopped her before she stopped me. That’s something I won’t forget.”

A major win for Lucy Hale as she stops an opponent some thought she shouldn’t be fighting. Dani Fishel’s advice apparently paid off big time for the petite PLP fighter. Meanwhile, Emily Bett Rickards suffers a bitter upset. It’s never good to be on the wrong side of an upset. How EBR copes with this setback should tell a lot about her and her celebrity boxing future.
