Anna Popplewell seemed generally positive when asked about Fergie, her latest opponent. "She's faced some tough opponents and come out looking pretty tough. I mean, she made Allison Mack sweat and went the distance with her twice. There are plenty of bantams who can't pull that off!" However, the cute brunette did have one issue. "I think if she wants to sit next to me in the rankings she needs to get into the ring a little bit more often, though."

"She looked pretty strong in the ring with Alexa Vega," commented Fergie. "But she's far from the most challenging opponent I've ever faced."

Fergie, in a black sports bra and trunks, and Popplewell, in purple athletic wear, touched gloves before the match, while commentators predicted fireworks once the fight actually began.

Round 1
Both fighters took a slow pace in the opening of the fight. This seemed to favor Popplewell, who slowly but consistently tagged Fergie while avoiding her rival's responses. Fergie, in a bad but salvageable spot, escalated the fight to a higher speed, only to be matched exactly by her taller opponent and outclassed once again. Realizing her dilemma, Fergie briefly upped the stakes again before simply fighting to slow the bleeding. Popplewell seemed happy to fill the space left available.

Round 2
Fergie, after starting out the fight as a resilient punching bag that left onlookers wondering if she had a path to victory, fared much better on her second try. Once again, Popplewell played it safe, slowing Fergie down but getting pummeled on occasion. Fergie's successes, while inconsistent, were enough to give her the round, though Popplewell's resistance kept her from having much control.

Round 3
The third round was as contested as the second. Fergie managed to attract the attention with bigger periodic plays, but Popplewell held out, slowly building up the attrition rate on her blonde opponent. The near draw fell on Fergie's side late in the round as the singer spent her time in something close to control, but both fighters were facing similar wear and tear at the bell.

Round 4
Looking strong in the opening, Popplewell managed to surprise Fergie with her ferocity almost as soon as the round began, striking the blonde singer twice in close succession with enough force to knock her back. Fergie, off to a bad start, stood her ground and eventually won a pyhrric victory, driving Popplewell back after enduring her attacks. Popplewell, after several tries, eventually took the fight back to Fergie, who despite a contested period, eventually succumbed to the brunette's persistence. Popplewell had few big moments to brag about, but the overall victory was clearly hers this time, and seeing Fergie running low on energy with a swollen eyelid and lip seemed to count for something in the younger actress' mind.

Round 5
Fergie made a good showing in the early moments of the round, but soon the damage she had accumulated made itself obvious. Weakness exposed, Fergie was unable to stop Popplewell from getting her way from then on. Before long, Popplewell landed a blow that put Fergie on her hands and knees. The singer's attempt to stand caused her to tip onto her side, just barely able to prop herself partially up. Popplewell grinned and strutted away with her fists in the air, leaving her opponent on the ground as the count ran out -- KO5 Popplewell.

Popplewell let Fergie recover at her own pace, pausing her victory lap periodically to pose for a picture. Meanwhile, the defeated blonde rose to her feet unsteadily. With her opponent upright, Popplewell bounced over excitedly to offer a hug. Fergie, still not in the best of shape, accepted, likely regretting it immediately as the brunette squeezed her bruised body with all of her might, picking her up off of the ground and swinging her back and forth with a blissful expression on her face. Eventually, Popplewell put Fergie down and allowed her to make her exit.

"I really couldn't be happier. I was ready to just go in and feel good about giving my best performance, win or lose, but knocking out Fergie is something I'm glad to have on my resume." Popplewell shifted gears. "Ignoring how I might feel about it personally!"
