BBU SATURDAY NIGHT BOXING

BEFORE: The Saturdays have had two BBU champions to date (Rochelle Humes & Una Healy) and with Mollie King entering the flyweight tournament picture plus Vanessa White looking somewhat impressive in her recent fight, the writing's on the wall for Frankie Sandford who remains at the bottom of the band's pecking order. The days of her victory over hot prospect Jade Thirlwall are almost forgotten and the 26 year old wants to remind everyone she can still dish out some punishment despite unfavorable comments from BBU TV's Denise van Outen.
Meanwhile Sandy Moelling continues to struggle in free agency; she was defeated five times in a row but it's only a potential disaster vs Sandford that would rule her out of any respectable future in BBU. There's lots at stake here in the Wembley Arena tonight and the loser might never recover to see a light at the end of the punchbag tunnel.
Frankie Sandford wears a silver bikini set and black gloves. Sandy Moelling wears a red bikini set and white gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Vanessa White joins Frankie in her corner but the English duo is quickly upstaged by Sandy's furious start that splits the brunette's mitts and has the blonde thumping Sandford's cute face in numbers! Whatever plan Frankie had in mind, it needs to be adjusted as Moelling romps into the clear with a heavy onslaught and reels the stunned opponent back to the ropes where she keeps picking her off and sends Sandford into a bleak moaning reality. Vanessa screams out for her bandmate to strike back - she has defated the German singer herself before - but Frankie just caves in and allows Sandy to rout her for remainder of the round; the relentless jabbing shows no signs of ceasing but the real damage is done when the blonde rips into the liver area and leaves the English girl screaming out in pain at the bell.
Round 2:
That was a terrible start for Frankie and it doesn't get any better later as Sandy's clearly buoyed by the lack of resistance and gallops into another facial assault that shatters the brunette's guard and rocks her head back & forth on the minute mark. Sandford tries to hang on in the middle of the ring and even flicks a couple of quick hooks but she's way off the mark and gets harpooned around the elbows again to bend forward and meet a crushing uppercut on the chin that sends her tripping back to the ropes again. Moelling rushes in with more leather but gets clinched late as Frankie moans herself into a standstill and can't come up with a better solution than trapping her opponent into an ugly stalemate.
Round 3:
More punches bounce off Frankie's cheeks early in the third as Sandy blitzes her in close range and resums the trigger-happy display. Sandford sends looping response from the back foot but struggles to slice the German guard and gets shut off in the middle of the ring with another switch on the midriff. She moans and aches her troubles but needs to simply find that big punch to stop the blonde in her tracks. That's nowhere to be seen though and Sandy pummels her back to the ropes where she gives the bruised ribcage another beating and even Vanessa White looks shocked by her bandmate's ineptitude in the ring tonight.
Round 4:
The writing's truly on Sandford's wall now as Moelling blasts a left/right cross on the nose to wobble the hapless brunette on her knees and drives an uppercut follow up on the chin that shuts her eyes and leaves for the German's mercy. The arms drop low as the embattled English singer tries to retain her balance but she never covers up for a brutal right hook that almost pierces her eye AND SENDS TUMBLING DOWN FLAT ON HER BACK moments later... Sandy finally delivers the knockdown strike and screams out in delight as Frankie remains motionless on th canvas... Vanessa White might shout as much as she wants in The Saturdays' corner but it's not gonna help Sandford beat the count... a huge swelling develops just where Moelling nailed her and even the slow count doesn't prevent the ineviteable demise... Frankie sits up only to be counted out and leans her head on her knees on the verge of spasms.... KO4 Sandy Moelling!!!
AFTER: Sandy looked set to enjoy a punchbag career for the rest of her BBU days but she simply caught a fighter in more trouble and viciously executed her redemption. Denise van Outen admits to being shocked at the swift nature of this KO finish; she never pictured Frankie as a serious contender in the division but it's Louise Redknapp-like demise here in the Wembley Arena tonight and one can only wonder where the cute singer ends up in the next few months. Perrie Edwards recently blasted out Sammy Winward so that's one possible scenario even if Sandy Moelling was supposed to be the rescue mission already. Very tough times ahead for the 26 year old who needs to be consoled by bandmate Vanessa White, all supervised by cheeky smile from the victorious German who openly challenges Romanian dance singer Inna into her next fight!
Final result: Sandy Moelling def. Frankie Sandford KO4.
