BEFORE: Denise van Outen thinks that Lily Allen's comprehensive victory over Cheryl Cole last December scared many potential opponents away but now that the former Girls Aloud leader has switched over to America and won her debut to add insult to Allen's misery there's no way the Hammersmith singer remains on the sidelines anymore: "I frickin' destroyed Cheryl 'The Bytch' Cole and she gets that big contact! What a pile of bull! I'm so mad right now I can knock any lightweight out let alone a chubby wimp like Keisha Buchanan! She thinks I'm rusty enough to beat me up? That's what I heard in the news? She's dumb as heck to think that but I'll enjoy pounding her brain cells out tonight if she's got any!"
Keisha's career has indeed fallen on hard times again, a hard-punching loss to Leigh-Anne Pinnock last December took her out of serious contention but with Mollie King and Jade Thirlwall making the news in recent months it's time to revive the defunct Sugababes project into some BBU action. Lioness Club coach Gina Wild considered whether to send Keisha or Heidi Range into Lily's path and while there's still a chance Range enters the title picture next year, Buchanan's inferior profile gets her the nod over the Merseyside blonde. Denise van Outen wants to see Lily Allen/Nadine Coyle happen next but she'll have to wait what Keisha has in store for the younger singer and can she derail the Allen train off her tracks tonight.
Lily Allen wears a black basque top, matching knickers and red gloves. Long black hair straight. Keisha Buchanan wears a red basque top, golden knickers and matching golden gloves. Black hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.
Round 1:
Apparently Allen wants the victory more in the opening round wasting no time whatsoever in slicing through Buchanan's mitts and snapping her head back to assume instant control. Keisha refuses to yield real estate at first but when she gets whacked by a vicious hook to the nose, she wobbles back on her heels and begins to circle around in avoidance thereafter allowing Lily to keep the pressure on. Allen barks in anger as she misses a couple of shots upstairs but doesn't get punished enough with Keisha looping her hooks a bit too predictably and nowhere near hard enough. Still, she leans on the younger singer and prevents her from pounding her back to the corner, the right-on-right exchange remains unsolved and that's the best Keisha could salvage from this round.
Round 2:
Lily keeps coming forward and gives her opponent no time to think her tactics over, it's a classic flyweight bash with both girls keen to chop each other down however the head hunting proves a little too hot for Buchanan again; Lily gallops into her cheeks with jabbing galore and adds a wide hook on the temple Keisha should have been prepared for but simply let it bounce off her and allowed Allen to jump into a midsection barrage afterwards. Keisha feels the heat now, she trips over her own feet and almost goes down on her bum, Allen keeps her in tact with a riffle series on the cheeks and dumps her butt-in-ropes soaking up more punishment. Lily gets carried away though and despite having the Sugababes singer trapped she desperately wants to dissect the guard instead of thumping the exposed ribcage. She struggles to enforce the facial assault and gets clinched late in the going as Buchanan has no other ideas how to tame the fellow brunette at this stage.
Round 3:
Keisha ups the tempo and blitzes the stunned Lily with a left/right combo that finds the nose and has the Hammersmith singer scowling in pain. Buchanan adds more facial shots and learns that Allen's guard ain't that bulletproof at all so she resumes the aggressive stance and reels the otherwise favored opponent on her heels. Lily barks in a mix of determination and anger, she tries to weave herself out of close range but still gets tagged as Keisha settles in with her trigger-happy execution and allthough she fails to match the agility of her foe, she finds more precision in her punches and bursts Lily's mouth into a swollen reality. Allen never saw this coming from the ex-Sugababe and needs time to adjust her tactics but Denise van Outen simply knows it's all about smashing Keisha's face one punch after another and the girl will crumble down in a heap. Lily should have enough experience to realize that too but she concedes the round easily anyway.
Round 4:
Buchanan seeks adding more lumps to Allen's face, it's strange to see the younger singer banged up through a single round assault but the superior footwork leaves her clear of Keisha's punches in the opening minute of the fourth before a gut-checking rally shuts the former Sugababe for good. Keisha doesn't have the light touch in her and wants to blow by Lily's guard like she did in the previous contest but begins to feel the aching guts before too long and locks another clinch just to see Allen out. After a hectic struggle both girls earn a separation but Lily's faster to the punch and slams a left/right cross on the nose to dump the fellow singer back to the ropes. Keisha escapes at the very last moment but spends the remainder of the round in a spooked retreat never resuming her aggressive attire again.
Round 5:
Lily's still upset over the fat lip Keisha gave her in the third round and blasts a quick close range combo to enforce her presence; Buchanan refuses to avoid the ruthless exchange while van Outen still wants to see her face getting smashed for whatever reason. Allen throws more punches setting the fellow singer up with the left hand before driving up on the belly and sinking Keisha on her heels. Another clinching effort proves fruitless as Lily finally bumps Keisha off and hacks into her breasts leaving her out of breath briefly but very vulnerable to the punch. AND SHE WRECKS HER NOSE with a brutal left/right follow up that almost breaks some bones... Keisha screams out in pain and half-turns seeking an escape route... Allen loses her cool and smacks the kidneys in a frantic effort to send the older singer for the count but gets immediately wrestled away by the ref and Buchanan has time to recover from all these punches.. now, her nose looks really bad seeping blood and she looks at Lily in sheer disbelief whereas the Hammersmith girl finally cools down and grins back at the wounded opponent in this evil manner of hers. The clock expires shortly afterwards and allows the Lioness Club's cutmen to work on Buchanan's nose injury but there's little doubt Allen will do everything she can to restore the bloody nightmare soon.
Round 6:
All upstairs from Lily who seeks immediate punishment of Keisha's nose and she splits the gloves with relative ease knocking leather against the wounded target to burst the nostrils just shy of the minute mark. Buchanan visibly slows down after learning that Allen bloodied her up again; Lioness coach Gina Wild demands an open war from her fighter now but Lily's too brutally effective to make it happen as she keeps romping along and just buries the helpless opponent on her heels while leaving stains on the canvas... Keisha's nose takes a pounding plain and simple and the older singer wobbles into a sizzling uppercut on the jaw that compounds her to the miserable reality. The arms drop low as Keisha takes a step to the side but then gets drilled on the temple with a quick follow up... BUCHANAN GOES DOWN ON HER SIDE and must be thankful that Lily didn't nuke her on the nose again.... she collapses to the side and needs time to beat the count, she's up at eight wiping more blood off her face and perhaps the ref wants to see this fight go all the way until one girl's face gets thoroughly rearranged? He gives Keisha thumbs up but the Sugababes girl is unable to handle the Allen heat anymore and gets pummelled back to the ropes where Lily destroys her guard and snaps the head back & forth until she pulls the plug on older singer and truly does all she can to break her nose into pieces... Keisha screams out in pain and can't hold her arms high enough anymore, she is hammered out of her senses and once the blood flies into the referee's eyes, he decides it's enough... HE RUSHES IN AND HAULS ALLEN OFF HER BUSTED UP PREY... just in time to save Keisha from a complete disaster and only few seconds before the bell that would have changed nothing since the doctor signals Buchanan was all done here and wouldn't have been allowed to go back for another round. Bloody TKO6 Lily Allen!!!
AFTER: Keisha is immediately escorted from the ring to have her nose evaluated but Lily couldn't care less about it. She grabs the announcer's mic and issues an open challenge to Nadine Coyle: "The Irish tart can't hide anymore! I'm gonna get her and knock her out silly! She'll go back right where she belongs. She was born a jobber and I'll remind everyone just how hittable she is! C'mon, ####! You're damn history just like your frickin' buddy Cheryl Cole whom I've destroyed already! Grrr..."
Meanwhile the Coyle challenge is the best thing Denise van Outen could have expected from Allen; she makes no secret of her support of this bout between two lanky fighters that defied many odds in the last several months. Coyle's rise from the bottom of the flyweight order of merit left many girls fuming and it's obvious Lily was one of them. Unlike few others though she actually wants to walk the walk and the fight is being arranged for next month already! But what about the negative comments about Buchanan? "Well, I've given up on her, she's like the Sugababes version of Frankie Sandford! Some girl bands have enjoyed plenty of success but there's always one odd item out that makes you scratch your head! Keisha's the odd girl out here! She deserves to have her face bashed in every single time she gets out there in the ring! What a frickin' punchbag!", van Outen simply shows no sympathy whatsoever for the fallen singer and is lured into a heated conversation with Lioness Club's press office guru Kate Garraway during the TV commercials.
Final result: Lily Allen def. Keisha Buchanan TKO6.
