BEFORE:

"This is a step up in class for me for sure," says Shailene with a nod. "But, I've fought a former champion before. It's not too big for me. I look forward to the challenge tonight."

"She's good," says Grace with a nod of her own. "She's proven that right here in this building. She's got all the tools she needs to become a champion some day. But. I'm a champion right now. And, there's a difference."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and and that's 'Orpheus In The Underworld' by Offenbach, and here comes one of the hottest young bantamweight prospects in the FCBA, Shailene Woodley!"

Cassie: "You could argue, and you'd be right, that BAZZ has the best bantamweight division in the FCBA, with Michalka, Wilde, Spiridakos, and, of course, Shailene."

McCarthy: "You could argue that...but you'd have to be a blithering IDIOT, considering that none of those girls can hold a candle to the two bantamweights at Sceej, Olivia Munn and Mac The Knife!"

Cassie: "Where did I put that fire extinguisher..."

McCarthy: "Don't you DARE! If you chloroform me again, I'll SUE!"

O'Dell (sighing): "Woodley into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Bazz corner. She's wearing that sky blue and white bikini we saw the last time she was here..."

McCarthy: "And, I'd say she looks like a stick figure, but she's nothing compared to what's on it's way to the ring..."

O'Dell: "And, that's 'Hawaii Five-O' by The Ventures, and here comes 'The Korean Krusher', Grace Park!"

McCarthy: "Also known as 'The Human Q-tip'. She makes even Woodley look Playmate curvy!"

O'Dell: "Park down the aisle and into the ring. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that familiar medium blue bikini..."

McCarthy: "And, if she turns sideways, she'll disappear completely!"

Tess: "Are you done?"

McCarthy: "Maybe. Maybe not."

O'Dell: "Well, be done at least for the moment. The ladies are about ready and we need to get some picks. Tess favors Grace. Mac?"

McCarthy: "This Woodley kid has won a few fights. I think she'll beat Park."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I'm going with my girl Shailene to pull the upset."

O'Dell: "And, here we go in the first. Both fighters showing plenty of caution early, as you might expect. Going to the left jab. Moving the feet, probing the defenses for weaknesses, and not finding very many. Both of these bantams are very rangy, especially for the weight, and neither doing anything to get past the glove right now..."

Tess: "And, talking of defenses, that's one of several things remarkable about Woodley. She doesn't have a lot of experience, but she's a very good defensive fighter."

O'Dell: "She is. And that's something that usually takes time to develop. Not in Shailene's case, however. Woodley not exactly slick defensively, that will come I suspect, but very sound. And you're seeing that right now. Watch how the head and hands move together, how she moves the feet to angle and stay off square..."

Cassie: "This is the kind of stuff you learn how to do at Bazz. Especially when Pointy throws you in the deep end with someone like Michalka or Munn."

O'Dell: "And, there's no question Woodley's learned her lessons well. Park, meanwhile, continuing the recon, much as Shailene is. Not exactly a slow round, but not an action-packed one either. Coming down the stretch. Thirty seconds to go. Jabs being exchanged as the fighters look for openings, but, they aren't going to find many this round. There's the bell. Close to Woodley."

McCarthy: "Good start for the kid."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second underway and we're seeing a lot of ranged boxing tonight, and it looks like that's where this is headed. The two fighters setting up at punching range now and looking to get leather on target. Park getting a little more aggressive here in the early going, tossing the younger fighter onto the defensive with some quick, accurate flurries..."

Tess: "Grace starting to get that extremely-high work rate we always see from her going now. That's tough for fighters to adjust to."

O'Dell: "And Shailene's going to have to do some adjusting. Park backing Woodley up now, getting a lot of leather home and GETTING NAILED WITH A RIGHT HAND! Woodley a laser-guided right-hand counter and Park is hurt! Shailene quickly over to the offensive now, banging away as Grace backs and covers..."

Cassie: "How ABOUT that right hand! I TOLD you this girl has the goods!"

O'Dell: "And, she also has maturity beyond both her years and experience. She's not getting wild or sloppy here. Slowly backing Grace into the ropes and thumping away at her. Looking to finish this thing in dramatic fashion. Park covering up, leaning back into the ropes, jabbing back in spots, every bit the crafty veteran now. The Front Streeter running clock as we come into the final seconds. GOOD right hand from Woodley at the bell! Park survives it, but it's Shailene wide in the second!"

McCarthy: "20-18, Woodley, and the kid's looking pretty good."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Woodley looking to press her advantage now. Shailene coming forward. Grace, though, banging back with heavy fire to put down the offensive immediately. Shailene settles back in at range and goes back to boxing. Not going to force anything at this point. Park forcing the younger fighter to cover up with a good flurry, but Woodley firing right back..."

Cassie: "Smart stuff from Shailene. She realizes Grace has shaken off the results of last round, so she's right back to the fight plan."

O'Dell: "That, she is, and she's working it very well, as she has in the rest of the early portion of this fight. Park getting into the best rhythm we've seen from the former champion tonight. She's getting the leather flying and making Woodley work hard to try to stem the flow. Shailene having some success doing that, though..."

McCarthy: "I'm very impressed with this girl. I mean, this is second-tier opposition. Park's a typical overrated Dancing Hooker. But, Woodley's definitely got potential."

O'Dell: "Good, two-way stuff as we head down the stretch. Park's work rate actually increasing the later we go in the round. Woodley not quite able to match it, but she's staying in the game so to speak. We're down to 20 seconds remaining. Nice Grace a nice combination, but Woodley right back with one of her own and there's the bell. Close to Park."

Tess: "Which makes it 29-28 after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with more work from Park. Grace getting things going now, getting lots of leather in the air and landing quite a bit of it. Woodley now struggling to keep up for the first time tonight. She's working hard to stay on even terms and not be tossed onto the defensive, as Park's slowly beginning to take control of this thing..."

Cassie: "RIGHT HAND, SHAILENE!"

O'Dell: "And she's ROCKED Park again, this time with a keyhole right hand! Woodley pouring on the fire and DOWN GOES PARK! Grace dropped to her rump, not by any one punch, but by the combined weight of a barrage of leather! Woodley to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Park to her feet at eight. Referee gives her the mandatory and he'll allow this one to continue..."

McCarthy: "Now's the time, kid! Get her out of there!"

O'Dell: "And, that's exactly what Woodley's thinking. Shailene all in now, banging away at Park, forcing her quickly back to the ropes and having at it. A full minute left in this one and Park in serious trouble. Woodley a good left hook. Grace keeping the guard up high, but Shailene not wasting any fire on the body..."

McCarthy: "Referee's not going to do a THING, kid. He's in Weirdo's pocket. You have to knock her out!"

O'Dell: "Ref looking in closely as Woodley pours on the fire. Grace countering on occasion, doing just enough right now. Shailene winging everything she has at the older fighter. Ten seconds left. Not going to happen in the fourth. There's the bell. Park survives again, but Woodley grabs this 10-8."

Tess: "And now leads 39-36."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins like the third did, with Woodley looking to consolidate, but, again, she's meeting spirited resistance from Grace Park..."

Tess: "And, we've talked about how good Woodley is at things that usually take time to learn despite her youth and lack of experience, let's talk about how Grace Park can shake off punishment like she has at the age of 41...and how she can continue to work at such a high rate past the age of 40..."

O'Dell: "And, you're seeing both of those things now. Park may not be all the way back, but she's definitely able to hold her own, again forcing Woodley to return to the ranged boxing fight plan. Shailene again willing. She can do this, as she's proven already tonight, and we've gone from jailbreak to another good, two-way round..."

Cassie: "Tess pointed out how well Grace has recovered, but I wonder if she's still going to be the Grace Park we're seeing now as we get into the late rounds. As Tess says, she's 41 and she's in against a much younger fighter."

O'Dell: "We may or may not find out, because the way this thing has gone, it could end at any second. We're heading down the stretch in the fifth. Good exchange after good exchange in this stanza. Both fighters staying on the offensive. Both working very hard. Shailene doing a much better job of sticking with Grace in this round. And, there's the bell. Close. Woodley."

McCarthy: "And, Shailene's now up 49-45 at the half. That's a big lead for the Q-tip to overcome."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Grace Park with a hole to climb out of, and she's getting to work quickly in an effort to do that, getting that work rate back to stratospheric levels. Shailene's seemed to adjust to this, though, and she's finding time and space to fire back and keep up with her veteran bantam opponent..."

Tess: "And, talking about that hole, we have our saying about losing the first three rounds and how big a hole that puts you in. Park is currently where you'd be if you lost the first FOUR rounds..."

Cassie: "Only, in a little worse shape, because she has one fewer round to make up the stagger."

O'Dell: "No question about it. She needs to sweep these last five or come up with some knockdowns, and neither of those is going to be easy the way Woodley is fighting. Shailene holding her own as very well against a ranged boxing assault from Park. Grace getting a lot of touches home, but her opponent not getting left in the dust here..."

McCarthy: "No. The kid's right in this round, just like she's been right in every round tonight."

O'Dell: "Down the stretch and here's a veteran move from Park. Grace getting VERY busy in the final thirty seconds, and she manages to throw Woodley to the defensive briefly. Shailene now firing back and we're seeing some extremely heavy exchanges now! Ten seconds left. Fans getting into this and there's the bell! Quite the finish, and Park grabbed that round late."

Tess: "58-55 now. Still a long way to go for Grace."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh round begins with Park again getting after Woodley and Shailene holding ground and firing right back. No question Grace knows she's behind in this one, and she's going to do everything she can to get back in the fight. Woodley staying busy, not going to let Grace get rolling if she can help it..."

McCarthy: "This is good stuff from Shailene. When you're a young fighter and you get a lead like this, sometimes you can get too passive, too careful. She's not doing that."

O'Dell: "She is not. She's sticking with the plan, which is to box an excellent boxer. And, she's doing it, and doing it well. We're actually seeing a higher percentage of shot landing in this round than we have all night. Both fighters finding the range very well right now, seeming to have figured out their respective opponent's defenses, at least to a point."

Cassie: "Shailene doing a very good job of punching with right now, Jenny. She's giving as good as she gets despite that high work rate."

O'Dell: "And here comes Park again as we go into the final 30 seconds. She's buzzing leather at Woodley and Shailene firing right back yet again. Again crowd getting into it as we're seeing barrages of punches exchanged! Both girls landing solid stuff and neither slowing down right to the bell. Park close again."

Tess: "And, don't look now, but Grace is back in it. 67-65 for Woodley."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Both fighters back to work in the eighth round. Park again looking to suppress Woodley with volume, but Shailene not having it. The younger fighter again able to find time and space to respond, not getting forced to back and cover. Park resolute, however, determined to get on the lead and force Woodley to fight counter..."

Cassie: "And that's just was Shailene doesn't want to do. Trying to counter-punch against Grace is a good way to lose round after round."

O'Dell: "Woodley lands a nice combination. Park follows with a quick three-punch flurry. Neither fighter's lost much off the fastball to this point. Again, perhaps not as much of a surprise for a young fighter like Woodley, but the 41-year-old Park still looking mighty spry right now. VERY spry, because there's a right hand and Shailene is HURT!"

Tess: "Best punch of the fight for Park by FAR..."

O'Dell: "And Grace following up now with a blistering flurry! Woodley backed up, wobbled. WOODLEY DOWN! Left hook and a straight right and down goes Shailene!"

McCarthy: "You might want to start singing, Scabbo..."

Cassie: "You might want to SHUT UP, MAC..."

O'Dell: "Woodley on her back. Count at three. Four. Rolls to her belly. Five. Six. Shailene pushing to hands and knees at seven. Eight. Nine. TEN! It's over! Woodley can't get off her knees and it's over! And, your winner by KO8 in comeback fashion is 'The Korean Krusher', Grace Park!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Grace Park, and, Grace, she got you in quite a hole tonight..."

Grace (nodding): "Like I said pre-fight, she's a very talented fighter and she's going to be a champion in the FCBA. She's very good. I'm just a little better, and I showed why tonight."

Tess: "What's next for you?"

Grace (smiling): "We'll just have to see, won't we?"
