BEFORE: Gemma Bissix didn't stand much chance against Dorota Rabczewska in her last bout but she still has a ton of experience to throw at Jaime Murray who comes off a fine BBU debut triumph over Martine McCutcheon last month. The Hammersmith brunette targeted Kym Marsh as her next victim but when the Merseyside veteran went down with a broken jaw, Bissix was quickly established as a suitable replacement.
BBU TV's Georgie Thompson has little faith in these two women, Gemma has never risen above a certain level even within her Beevers' Babes stable while Jaime is a free agency unknown since it doesn't take a lot to destroy McCutcheon no matter if that was a debut fight or not. However the O2 Arena can't rule out a good knockout so quickly since it's obvious Gemma and Jaime don't like each other much and will do everything to prove a point to the naysayers like Thompson.
Gemma Bissix wears a red bikini and white gloves. Shoulder lenght blonde hair. Jaime Murray wears a black bikini and yellow gloves. Raven-black hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Jaime wants to use some nifty footwork to upset the blonde early but she fails to back that up with a proper leather display and allows Gemma to whack her on the counter in a close range tangle; both women lack the accruracy required to make steady progress and soon settle for a clinch before Bissix drives a gut-checking combo and bumps the brunette off. Jaime trips back and lands on the ropes but escapes the blonde's rush and manages to slip underneath for a ribcage assault of her own that slows Gemma down and results in the round ending in a stalemate with both women circling around without much confidence.
Round 2:
Murray comes off a debut victory so she should be the one chasing her opponent down and she finally delivers a big strike to slice the blonde's guard before whacking her on the temples as Gemma wobbles forward and almost headbutts her opponent. More punches catch her on the tummy and stagger on the spot but the overhand switch goes wayward and enables the Beevers veteran to clinch the brunette. After a brief struggle both women settle into a mid distance slugging but again, there's not much confidence in these efforts and while it's understandable for Bissix - with the vicious loss to Rabczewska on her mind - perhaps Murray is a bit spooked fighting the most famous BBU stable member tonight. More defensive circles follow and just a general lack of aggression.
Round 3:
Jaime hooks up with Gemma's face and there's more success in close range with the brunette driving an uppercut series on the nose to wobble the Beevers veteran on her heels and then stacking up her against the ropes with a midsection rally. Bissix seeks a clinch but gets clubbed on the chest and endures another gut-checking combo that wobbles her against Murray's shoulder and enables the brunette to drill the breadbasket repeatedly which slumps Gemma badly and makes her groan in discomfort for most of the exchange. Still, Jaime looks to add something upstairs and while she switches the targets, Bissix's high guard holds up in the final minute and halts Murray's progress even if the round is lost due to the earlier attacks.
Round 4:
This is a slow tempo contest but Gemma finally opens up when she lands a powerful straight jab on the brunette's nose and adds a quick smack on the temple to bend her foe backwards. Jaime struggles to find a proper stance and gets whacked repeatedly through the very leaky guard so that the Beevers veteran has little trouble in assuming an unexpected control for the first time tonight. She pummels Murray back to the turnbuckle but doesn't escape a clinch when the Hammersmith actress wraps herself around the blonde's arm and drags it forward earning a swift referee reaction. Still, she fights back even when trapped in the corner and Gemma's guard is sliced a couple of times earning her a fat lip when Jaime lands her biggest combo of the bout and walks forward drilling more facial assault to completely reverse the situation. She runs out of time to make Bissix suffer but that was a nice getaway to leave the blonde veteran shaking her head in disgust.
Round 5:
Bissix ups the tempo as Murray still hasn't punished her a lot even though the judges might favor the brunette at this stage, the hit & miss affair conncludes with another clinch and it's easy to spot why Gemma was so ravaged by the Polish singer lately and why there's so much talk about McCutcheon leaving town for good next season. This is hardly the best BBU has to offer but Georgie Thompson thinks that both these women are happy with the ugly nature of the contest and repeated clinching that stalls any serious progress at every single opporunity. Murray shows superior strenght shoving the blonde against the turnbuckle but jars her left hand piercing the hip - that rarely works, mind you - and earns herself a late uppercut on the chin that does little to help Gemma's cause because the judges are probably asleep by now.
Round 6:
Hold the phone! Murray lands the haymaker to tear the blonde's brow ridge and wobbles her onto the ropes when an uppercut follow up finds the chin... Bissix groans in pain and hits the escape button but still gets caught as Jaime launches a shocking rush to ignite some heat into the otherwise downbeat crowd.. the chase is on and Gemma bounces off all four corners before she finally gets nailed by another hook on the nose and sags on her heels. Murray rips into her guts and keeps trapped on the ropes but the wiley blonde veteran hangs on albeit covered in deep earmuff and gasping in despair as the brunette cleans out her tummy with a heavy rush... she almost headbutts Bissix while trying to shove her through the ropes and adds a late uppercut on the jaw to leave the blonde spinning back to her stool and that might just be one punch too many for the Beevers' comfort.
Round 7:
Murray's finally on a swing and hassles the spooked blonde down before stalling her escape with a midsection switch that dumps Bissix nto a yelping struggle. The clinch doesn't work anymore and Jaime bumps the hapless opponent onto the ropes and zips past the high guard to add more swelling on the banged up brow ridge. Gemma rocks back & forth on her feet but simply cannot escape the close range heat and just lets one go crashing into the brunette's nose, another drifting hook catches the brow ridge and wobbles her forward into the much needed embrace... that was a lucky one for the Beevers but Gemma wants to make the most of it and wrenches Jaime'e liver area turning her back against the corner and slamming a good combo on the navel.... Jaime winces and remains slumped on the blonde's shoulder with her eyes closed but Bissix can work that liver area drill and she shuts the Hammersmith actress off and whacks her on the jaw with a late uppercut rally... Jaime looks a little dizzy walking back to her stool and Gemma gives her a really long stare for the first time tonight.
Round 8:
Gemma jumps into a sudden leather frenzy and clobbers the guard aside landing crisp punches on the brow ridge to wobble Jaime into a moaning defence. However a switch on the liver is what she really needs and shs stuns the brunette with a vicious harpoon that bends Murray into a crunching uppercut on the jaw... JAIME TAKES A KNEE as she wobbles badly and finds no ropes to lean on... she spits out her mouthpiece to earn more time but that was the best blitz Gemma executed all night and Murray just couldn't stay upright anymore... the fight resumes after the standard eight count but now the blonde powers ahead and catches Murray on the fly with a piercing series on the brow ridge that sinks the brunette back to the corner and has the Beevers veteran thumping extreme leather candy on the mouth... Jaime barks and aches but it's all to no avail as she can't break free and out punch her rival.. she gets whacked on the navel for a good measure and wobbles forward one more time to meet the familiar uppercut on the jaw... AND THAT SPINS HER SIDEWAYS CRASHING DOWN AT GEMMA'S FEET... what a run from the blonde actress who just smoked the brunette counterpart clean!!! Jaime rolls on her side and tries to push herself up from both hands but collapses down on her face and almost kisses Gemma's boots in the proccess. The blonde refuses to walk back to her corner and gives the fallen opponent more time to recover... Jaime's indeed up at eight after a second attempt but looks hollow in the eyes and mumbles a quiet response to the referee who doesn't like it whatsoever... you ain't getting any breaks as a newcomer so the bout is called off and the Beevers have pulled this one back in a stunning fashion! TKO8 Gemma Bissix!!!
AFTER: The usual Beevers' post-fight punishment follows, Jaime was already inches away from Gemma's feet so now she gets quickly forced to her knees and has to lick the blonde's boots while the entire audience enjoys the sight! Gemma places her left foot on the brunette's back and presses it down so that Jaime can fully embrace her job before switching legs and making sure Murray realizes what's in store for her in the future. Because she's not gonna win all fights now and if she ever encounters the Beevers stable again, she's in for a nasty ride like so many others in the past. Even Georgie Thompson can't complain about the feet worshipping drill, right?
