BEFORE: Kaya Scodelario has emerged as active BBU fighter again now that her movie career has flourished over in America and her comeback schedule begins with Coronation Street starlet Brooke Vincent who herself has gone into hiding after a brutal loss to the now retired Kym Marsh back in August of last year. BBU TV's Georgie Thompson predicts a snoozefest in the early going here as both girls are seriously short of regular ring action however Scodelario's rumoured to be involved in a shocking move across the pond and it's essential for her to beat Vincent up tonight if anything of that gossip is supposed to be true!
Kaya Scodelario wears a black corset, red hotpants and white gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a high curly ponytail. Brooke Vincent wears a red basque top, black knickers and yellow gloves. Light brown hair tied in a high ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Brooke comes out flying and scoops a couple of heavy jabs into Kaya's face before a belting hook on the liver stops her progress; both girls tangle in a chaotic exchange afterwards with little gain and decide to circle back once it becomes too obvious they need to adjust their stance. Brooke keeps looping overhands in mid distance but lacks the touch neccessary to really put Kaya under some trouble whereas the older brunette pounces on the ribcage and looks more keen of the two to switch to a closer range. Those efforts are halted by a late clinch though and the round ends in a stalemate.
Round 2:
Another feisty start from Vincent who keeps head hunting the older actress but is left exposed to a counterpunching effort that smacks her on the lips a couple of times and staggers her in the middle of the ring which enables Scodelario to pounce in close range and shut Brooke off with more hooks to the body down the stretch. Brooke yields real estate as she tries to mount another challenge upstairs but Kaya is just too accurate with her punches and snaps her opponent's head back to reel Vincent onto the ropes where she blocks her off and zips past the guard for more facial misery. Brooke begins to feel the heat and she's simply unable to break free; Scodelario shows awareness to stick plenty of leather on the body before clipping the chin late to leave the younger brunette searching for answers at the bell.
Round 3:
Brooke keeps coming forward but the counterpunching from Kaya dissects all her plans within the opening minute and has the younger actress weaving around in mid distance to bide some time. Scodelario ups her tempo seeing little action for her rival and she splits the mitts repeatedly thereafter knocking Vincent's head about and reeling her onto the ropes again where a nasty hook on the liver area bends an aching girl down and has Kaya thumping her on the face with very little defence to speak of. Brooke simply can't find any separation and is easily outmuscled into soaking up more close range heat as her head begins to sway around under the Scodelario barrage and leaves the Corrie brunette yelping in pain at the bell one more time.
Round 4:
Kaya's removed enough confidence from her opponent to switch into the stalking game now as Brooke simply needs a breather but gets none and it only gets worse for the Fight Club UK entourage when their vixen is staggered to the spot after a quick one-two combo bursts through the mitts and connects with the jaw. Brooke wobbles forward with another loud yelp and IS CAUGHT BIG TIME with a vicious hook on the temple THAT SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN ON HER SIDE moments later... Kaya shakes her glove in delight but quickly struts back to her corner as Brooke takes a lot of time to get up and only beats the count at eight looking a bit hollow in the eyes... Scodelario wastes no time in delivering the follow up slicing through the cumbersome high guard and backing a hapless Vincent to the ropes where she keeps driving upstairs amid more agonising yelps from the embattled brunette.. ref refuses to step in just yet and somehow Brooke survives the late onslaught even though her face is bruised very badly and there's not much spark left in her eyes too. Kaya bumps into her after the bell and almost knocks her down which leads Georgie Thompson to think that Vincent might even quit on her stool next!
Round 5:
Well, Brooke finds enough esteem to avoid the submission TKO but she's under immediate pounce from the raging Kaya who seeks the ineviteable finish regardless. She's roughed Vincent up in impressive fashion here tonight and finds no resistance to stop her charge; a vicious head hunting series of jabs dissects the leaky guard wholesale and knocks Brooke's head sideways repeatedly, the younger brunette is battered into stupor well inside the opening minute and Scodelario finally shows her some mercy by whacking her across the mouth and adding the last nail to the coffin with a swift left hook on the temple... VINCENT GOES DOWN FLAT ON HER BACK and it's obvious she's not getting up anytime soon now... KO5 Kaya Scodelario!!!
AFTER: That was as impressive performance from Kaya as anyone in the BBU could have expected, she mastered the counterpunching drill to make Brooke think better of it but totally destroyed her before the Fight Club UK gang came up with another solution how to win this contest. It's really hard to believe those FCBA rumours just yet but if this is how Scodelario settles back in the ring on the long haul then many of her peers will struggle to take her down. Vincent was badly shaken up by a mediocre veteran Kym Marsh before and it looks like she's not ready to cause any trouble to the prime time opponents like Scodelario which doesn't bode well for her foreseeable future.
Final result: Kaya Scodelario def. Brooke Vincent KO5.
