Before: "I'm gonna torture this kid," Claire says with a bright smile, "Set your VCRs - your going to want this one for posterity!" Lohan emphasizing the positive - she knows what she's up against, but she's not selling herself short. "Claire's a sorceress, no doubt about it," Lindsay admits in prefight, "but if Mish Williams can beat her down, I know I can too. I'm bigger, I'm stronger, I've got the punch - I've just got to make the fight be about those things and I'll break her down." Surprising note of semi-dissent from the BSE camp - Britney on record in BLONDE! magazine as saying, "I was against this fight when it was announced. I worked hard with Linds to get her ready, but I know how elusive and crafty Claire is and I think it's a lot to expect a rookie, no matter how talented, to handle someone so unorthodox. Not saying Lindsay can't win, but it's obviously a very difficult spot for her." Claire in sporty red bra style bikini - Linds in baby blue poolside fighting bikini.

During R1: Claire dresses Lindsay up proper. Danes grinning, taunting with her eyes, front foot in a bucket to anchor her swivel-pivots left, leaning forward right hand at her ear, left across her gut. Linds upright, dukes at eyebrows - she's trying to find Claire with a seeking jab - no joy as Danes easily reads and weaves. Claire licking and lapping at tasty Lohan ribs in the first minute, getting her used to the spank. Second minute, Claire placing firm, sticking rights flat to Lohan's sternum, slipping a rising left dagger-like in under the right breast. Final minute - Claire feinting, pivoting, drilling hesitation lead rights between Lohan's gloves, banging back Lindsay's face. No one punch does it, but steady lather puts Lindsay wobbly butt, shutout, outclassed in the first.

R2: Claire back on that body - wicking away the strength with licking lefts and rights, sticking jabs, wind-sucking rights to solar plexus. Lohan turning to keep Claire in front of her, shooting a deliberate one-two which does graze Danes atop the head or glance off that lead left shoulder. Lindsay rooted to the spot, mesmerized by Claire - powerful redhead tentative - unwilling to release for fear of being countered off the miss.

R3,4,5: Identical rounds - Claire dragging the front foot, pivoting to her left, turning behind that closed left shoulder - she's right in front of Lohan but virtually impossible for Lindsay to hit clean. Claire's agenda increasingly obvious: a constant, diabolical lashing of her foe's body, tearing up great chunks of belly meat, scraping and clawing the ribs, digging up into the solar plexus with plugging lefts or rights. Lohan braced, strong on her feet, but suffering - face is wincing, pained, eyes shiny as the constant touch of Claire downstairs takes numbing effect. Danes choosy with her head shots, but nearly always flush: straight, drilling hesistation rights, often off a cute feint - poor Lohan gobbling the punch, shining up nicely, glaring back in frustration.

R6: Claire staggers Lohan early with a double right lead to the face - Lohan stumbling sideways into ropes covers up earmuff: Danes takes her first healthy heaping of jug. Joy on Claire's face - she's not a notorious jug-mugger, but when it's there and tempting and available? She'll take all she can get. Danes pancaking in with straight lefts and rights, bobbing low to slip beneath Lohan's outraged receipts - red head showing her teeth in dazed fury, but just can't land the way she wants. Claire has her fun, then lures Lohan back to midring - jabbing pesky to the body, slipping and slapping to the hip, ribs and ear, turning her girl for a shutout sixth.

R7,8: Lohan face-in-gloves, leaning forward - Claire's just lathering away at will now. Danes getting up into Lohan's body with hands low, relaxed, just leaning to the side, arching her back and digging up into the thickness of Lindsay's lats and torso. Danes patting away double lefts, dig-digging double rights, falling off to the side - she's got Lindsay edging forward into punches just the way Claire likes to do. Clipping uppercuts occasionally pick Lohan's tired face up - she's taking the shots sullenly, grumpily, unable to answer back. Danes embarrasing Linds at times with dramatic slips under tired Lohan haymakers, coming up behind the redhead with a light hug around the belly, holding her for referee's breaks. Lohan hot and bothered through 8: Claire sunny, smiling, loving life.

R9: Lohan still punching - can't land the right hand, but she's finally getting the follow-on hook to Claire's ribs as Danes honors the initial cross with a defensive bob. Not enough to win Lindsay the round though - Claire too crisp, too fresh - she's been constantly at Lindsay since the first minute, wearing Lohan down - Claire comparatively untouched through 9 systematic heats.

R10: Claire ups the tempo, turns puncher, absolutely confident that Lohan has nothing left and couldn't hit her anyway. Claire right hand under her chin as she doubles and triples up lefts to Lohan's body, jabbing to step right, then leaning in with the hesitation right to light Lohan up on the eye. Right hand leads stun Lindsay, leave her leaning out over her feet: Claire gets back up underneath with hooks. Claire swabbing and shoeshining jug: just swishing the backs of her gloves across Lohan's sulking buckets - Linds groaning, soaking it up. Lindsay on the verge of a knockdown through sheer attrition - pride and the ropes all that's holding her up at times. Romp to the finish line Claire - she lifts her mitts and forces hard eye contact with a trampled Lindsay Lohan. Bell - Linds dropping her hands to her side in exhaustion - Claire lunges in with a cheap flyweight's elbow to the pit of the paunch, drawing a piteous sob from the beaten redhead. Ref catches it - pulls unrepentant Danes away by the crook of her arm, but what's he going to do? Fight's over. UD10 - 10-0 rout - Claire Danes.

After: Danes listening intently to the scores - she's thrilled to have rung it up on Lohan - 10 round waxing more precious than a knockout to a stylist like Claire. "I said I'd torture her and I delivered," says a grinning strawberry blonde in postfight. "Punching her body was like hitting a Bundt cake - she's very spongy, easy on the hands - I was loving it down there on her. She basically had nothing left after 5 or 6 rounds of me going at her midsection - DAMN that was tasty!" Lindsay puffy-faced, eyes distant - you don't see a Claire Danes in sparring, pretty tough to prepare for.
