BEFORE: When two Latin girls meet in the ring the excitement and hard punching is guaranteed even if one of them is still looking for a maiden victory and the other is an established veteran. Daniella Monet showed she can make the SSB grade despite losing to Ariana Grande and Ashley Benson while Selena Gomez remains one of the most underrated performers in the league largely due to LCA stablemate Jessica Lowndes' championship campaign in both the flyweight & JMD corps. However at age 23 she's a complete fighter according to most of the experts and deserves her shot at the big prize next year even if Lowndes doesn't plan to yield the Alpha status anytime soon.

Selena Gomez wears a violet bikini set with black trim and white gloves. Black hair tied in a curled ponytail. Daniella Monet wears a red bikini set and black gloves. Dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
These are two of the tallest flyweights around so it's perhaps no surprise they settle into mid distance spat from the onset; Selena refuses to chase her inexperienced opponent straight from the gate and Daniella ponders some kind of a trap for a while but accepts the laid-back opening before trying to drill the high guard of Lioness Club's designated Beta fighter. Gomez shows off a little, drops her arms by the side and circles around Monet without even throwing a punch; she slips back into the corner and that really shocks the fellow brunette, an early dope-a-rope trick from Gomez and perhaps she's playing some games here after all; the late flurry of punches bounces off Selena's guard and she whips an overhand on the temple to reel Monet back on her heels right at the bell before signalling something to coach Claudia Schiffer in the LCA corner. Daniella simply doesn't understand what was that all about but plenty of people in the audience do!

Round 2:
More of the same in the second; Selena refuses to charge at her opponent and forces Daniella to attack but the LCA Beta's high guard embraces all the leather without a scratch and makes the Victorious cast brunette moan in anger over her lack of progress. Another voluntary trip to the corner has Gomez smiling and she teases Monet into a flurry of strikes upstairs but to no real avail as the older brunette doesn't have the big punch to bother the more experienced of the two. A belting reply finally brings Selena on the scoreboards and she punches herself out of the corner at will before driving an uppercut on the jaw to send Monet into a defensive earmuff. Gomez plain ignores that and harpoons her foe around the elbows to pummel her back to the opposite side of the ring and then sinks her with another belter on the breadbasket. It's almost too easy for Selena here as she rips more shots to the exposed ribcage and has to be dragged away by the ref at the bell.

Round 3:
Monet tries to close the distance and rip some leather into her rival's ribcage but gets clinched and bumped off on her heels in the process. Selena refuses to accept the plan and whips overhand counter upstairs tagging Daniella's temples and keeping her at bay right where she wants her. Lengthy circling follows and it's still very strange to see Gomez this patient in execution against such a lackluster opponent as Monet seems happy her face has barely been bruised thus far and the LCA brunette targets the midriff area instead. But the weak punches over the top just don't bother Selena whatsoever and Tess Valmore ponders a trip to the bar outside of her JMD code because there's no way Monet will ever impress the judges looking this bleak through nine minutes.

Round 4:
Perhaps Daniella isn't so bad after all and she simply shows Selena too much respect? Whatever the case, the LCA fighter doesn't even raise her arms starting the fourth and walks into the older brunette with a cheeky smile... a little deke to the left, a little deke to the right... AND MONET NAILS HER ON THE CHIN... adds a left hook on the nose AND GOMEZ RAGDOLLS TO THE CANVAS crashing down on her elbows and almost doing a full back roll in the process.. So much for playing games, Gomey! The knockdown sucks the life out of the arena where the people are utterly stunned by what just happened... and Monet means business gesturing at the fallen opponent and delaying the count... Selena's up at five but she realizes now she must stop with the cat & mouse drill if she wants to avoid the upset... Daniella's eyes light up though and the most spirited part of the fight follows with both girls letting the other one have it midring, head hunting display enables Gomez to weather the storm but Monet's up for some evil ways too as she slams a late cross on the mouth and clips Selena's rack wobbling her onto the ropes and almost thundering away into the orbit with a vicious shot on the liver that grazes the hip instead and lets Gomey off the hook at the very last moment.

Round 5:
Selena doesn't hang back along the ropes anymore and moves onto the front leg to prevent a looming Monet charge; sure enough the older brunette storms out of her stool with a jabbing menace but gets blocked off in mid distance and lacks the speed to make the looping overhand switch stick either.... cue in the lioness power... Selena leans forward and almost headbutts her rival but launches a ruthless midsection assault that roots Daniella to the spot and enforces a low cover that gets quickly sold short by an upstairs combo that clips the jaw... Selena in frantic punch-happy mode that overwhelms the somewhat sluggish Monet and sends her into the ropes thereafter... all Gomez again, one-two riffle over the top slices the high guard and results in a nasty gash under the left eye as Selena channels the inner Alpha and romps into Daniella's face leaving the girl yelping in pain at the bell with her face visibly banged up too.

Round 6:
All the momentum Daniella gained in the fourth round is gone and after an early facial barrage that adds more lumps and opens the previous gash Selena eases off too going back to the all-smiles and no-respect mode that upsets the older brunette so much she wants to immediately wipe all the joy from Gomez's face but simply can't. Too slow on her feet and too sluggish in execution, she remains erratic in pursuit and in fact earns herself more wounds as Selena dominates the counterpunching from the back foot and staggers the truly hapless girl along the ropes ripping more straight punches through the invisible guard. Daniella ends the round crippled against the ropes, just suffering badly from the sheer amount of punches but the worst part is that Gomez didn't even hit fourth gear there and one begins to wonder how long will this Latin experiment continue?

Round 7:
LCA coach Claudia Schiffer is tired of Gomey playing her games and wants a swift KO finish, "Alright! I'll see what I can do!", that's Selena's response who easily renders the otherwise slow moving opponent in the middle of the ring and rips upstairs to send Monet's head rocking back & forth and her banged up face looking even more dreadful come the minute mark. Daniella aches her heart out getting beaten up at will and doesn't have the courage to plain hook Gomez up for a ride. She caves into turtle-like earmuff but still gets pounded towards the ropes where Selena finds her rhythm dissecting the ribcage and piercing the liver area to leave Daniella in all sorts of bother late in the round. This is just a vicious beatdown here and the older brunette's resilience finally crumbles when she gets belted on the navel and soaks up a quick uppercut straight between the butter guard, the head snaps back one time too many AND MONET SLIDES DOWN ON HER KNEES with eyes closed before slumping face-first at Gomey's feet... Another little delay as the lioness girl makes more gestures to her coach but she's locked out of the KO reality because the clocks expires before the ref can start the count and Monet's been handed one last life to live... she has to crawl to her corner though and shakes her head with another loud gasp, it's obvious she's pretty much finished here!

Round 8:
Monet refuses to quit on her stool but Gomez romps into her face taking the guard to the cleaners and the former Victorious co-star with it in the process! Daniella's reduced into a walking... make that a standing punchbag and when her arms go numb and fall by the wayside, Selena can choose all the places she wants for the coup de grace... she slams one across the nose TO CHOP MONET DOWN... down and out as the count is spared with the lanky brunette left motionless on her left side and the winner blowing the crowd a well deserved kiss... KO8 Selena Gomez!!!

AFTER: That was a Selena rout most of the Front Street Gym artists would be proud of to headline the Asylum main event... It's debatable whether Daniella won any round other than that shocking knockdown in the fourth when Gomez became too arrogant and got caught unaware! A valuable lesson for the future and one reason why she remains the LCA's Beta operator at 110 lbs. But it's all smiles for the Schiffer/Gomey duo as the Latin brunette has no plans to upstage the Lowndes world order just yet... well, not before getting to know the Leighton Meester result:

"Yeah, that's right! If Lowndes loses the chief's support Meester must punch it out of her tonight! Losses to Hudgens and Kunis don't count since even such a great girl like Jessica can't win them all but the Meester loss is something different. It's personal and very much against the odds. You just don't expect an LCA member to lose to someone who got kicked out of Lookout and had to salvage her oh-so trashy career at bantamweight! I remember the roasting I got from Mr. V when I lost to Leighton the other month.. that was no fun! I don't think Jessica will be given the benefit of the doubt if she loses three straight either!"

All eyes on Lowndes/Meester already... the prize of the Alpha/Beta draw... even the most one-sided Selena Gomez beatdown glory doesn't make her the Lioness Club of America's Alpha fighter... yet!

Final result: Selena Gomez def. Daniella Monet KO8.
