Lucy Hale versus Brenda Song
(Words: Bazz / Results: Lookout!)

Before: “She’s like a copperhead hiding in the rocks. You’re walking along and if you give her a chance, BANG! You’re done.” The throng of reporters momentarily rears back at Lucy Hale’s emotional description of Brenda Song. “Still I’ll tell you everyone at the PLP thinks that the Bazz flyweights are diabolical and underhanded. While they call them names, Scerbo is Mademoiselle Poopy Pants, I have to say that life as a flyweight is cutthroat and I admire their moxie. It’s the only way you can swim with the likes of Vanessa, Hayden, Cassie, Jessica and Brenda. Well tonight I plan on joining that select club.”

“Yeah we’re a couple of real sharpshooters and I’ll tell ya that brownnosing isn’t going to help much here. Let me say that we’re here to fight and more importantly we’re here to win. Everyone says that all that weaponized pudding stuff, yeah we head about that comment from Front St., is a distraction to our success. I can say that it’s really just a great release and it brings us together as a team. I appreciate her compliment but as I said ‘brownnosing won’t help much’ tonight.” Brenda sums it up at the podium.

Hale looking good in a bright blue bikini and similarly colored gloves and boxing shoes. Song in her usual shiny black bikini with matching gloves and calf boots. Both heads are affixed with fierce ponytails.

Rd 1 both girls are out quick skipping the traditional preliminary feeling each other out stage. Song connecting first with a blur of a two punch combination. Lucy backed up right off the bat by sharp barking Bazz girl. Hale shakes it off with a couple of snappy jabs stepping in on Brenda with gusto. Fighters moving with swift authority around the ring. Each trying to gain control of territory. Brenda gives a stutter step to the right gaining leverage and coming back with a right hand that sails past a flurry of jabs coming in from Lucy just catching Hale on the chin. Pretty Little Puncher covering up for a moment recovering from the blast. Song dances in trying to land punches. Hale bobbing and weaving as the punches whistle by. Brenda sends an overhand right that just catches the top of Lucy’s head. Hale determined to tough it out counters with straight arm left and then right rocking Song’s head back. Bazz girl retreats and both girls are back to square one at center ring as the bell sounds with Song the clear aggressor in what looks like a very competitive fight coming up.

Rd 2 Lucy surprises Brenda charging to mid ring as fresh as a daisy. Hale jabbing with strong lefts keeping the Bazz Girl at bay. Song taking some shots to the lead and now covering up with mitts up around the face while Lucy peppers away. Brenda dances away getting space between her and the bullying Pretty Little Puncher. Brenda starts to counter more effectively catching jug with a right and then a left. Both girls swinging hard now as the typical flyweight fare breaks out, rapid fire punching, quick footwork all around the ring, speed and then more speed bringing the crowd to its feet. Lucy moving in and out catching Brenda often enough to score for the judges. Brenda content to counter punch hoping to catch Hale and get a knockout. As the bell rings it’s obvious that Lucy’s strategy is working best for this round.

Rd 3 Lucy keeps up the aggressive pace. She’s looking all sorts of confident now putting her jabbing prowess on display. Meanwhile Brenda is counterpunching trying to grind out some scores with her right hand. Both girls are scoring now with Hale dancing and jabbing and Song planting her foot and turning on the Pretty Little Puncher landing some impressive roundhouses. Crowd hearing some good smacks as leather meets flesh and they are on their feet for this even match. Lucy jitterbugging out on the perimeter lunges in planting her leg and tapping Brenda a couple of times with her harassing left hand. She moves to her left making Brenda chase her now and lunges again hunting for points but this time Brenda is ready catching the PLP fly with a solid right hand to the torso. Fight goes this way with both girls showing off great agility and as the bell rings it seems that Lucy’s jabs have outnumbered Songs right hands by the slimmest of margins.

Rd 4 Flyweights at center ring maneuvering and looking for openings. Song tired of the pesky jabbing from her opponent turns on the aggression stepping up and slapping Lucy with her own jabs. The change in strategy seems to work as Lucy is backed up against the ropes and is forced to cover up. Now it’s Brenda taking to the dance floor showing some serious ability to stick and move. She’s knocking Lucy around at will with combinations that are hitting home on the body and when she can scoring to the head. Lucy is covering trying to figure out a solution but in the meantime it’s all Brenda. Song takes Hale to mid-ring and lands a two punch combination that scores with a left to the ribs and a right cross to the chin sending the Pretty Little Puncher staggering all the way back to the ropes. Brenda skips after her quarry following up with a series of lefts and rights to the body. Lucy is countering as best she can but she can’t stop Brenda’s assault. Bazz girl throwing the hurt down as the bell rings takes the round by a big margin.

Rd 5 Brenda seeing a hint of hurt in Lucy’s gate goes right back to work. Her jab-right hook combo is working to the point of being unstoppable. Hale is reeling as she tries to hold off Song covering up and countering with weak straight arm punches. Crowd now going bananas as they sense a knock out. Song circling like a shark for a moment and then striking with another two punch combination that sends Lucy back up against the ropes. Song going all in with flurries of punches. Hale taking punishment to the body and her head getting knocked back with Brenda’s jabs scoring so well. Pretty Little Puncher at a loss to find a way out and the crowd is amazed that she is still on her feet. Brenda standing flat foot in front of her opponent sending bomb after bomb her way. The bell rings with Song stamping her feet while she walks back to her corner openly frustrated at not being able to knock down Hale.

Rd 6 Song gets right back to work as Hale’s defense is still weak at best. The two meet at center ring with Song on the offensive and Hale trying to staunch the flow of pain coming her way. Song snapping off crisp jabs while Hale continues to offer a meager defense and some weak counter punching. Hale desperate to save the fight moves in close with Song trying to develop some productive clinches with in close punching. Song still dominating with upper cuts and buggywhips to the torso. The fighters waltzing around the ring as Hale has successfully slowed the fight and Brenda’s buzzsawlike assaults. Fighters are grinding it out forehead to forehead rock em sock em robot style when suddenly DOWN GOES SONG! With twenty seconds left Brenda hits the canvas on her rear end. The entire arena is shocked and at a loss to find the elusive punch that could have called the knockdown. Song bleeding from a cut just above her left eye as she struggles to get to her feet with a little over ten seconds left. Hale herself groggy from the previous two and a half round beat down is unable to capitalize on the weakened Song and the bell rings.

The crowd is on its feet in a full roar as they can see an apoplectic Poindexter Del Crunchy jumping up and down on the outside of the ring hanging on the ropes and screaming at the top of his lungs at the referee. The referee correctly judging the ample size of the Bazz manager in concert with his current demeanor stands a good five feet away from the gesticulating Scotsman just to make sure. Suddenly there is a loud groan coming up from the crowd as the end of the round is replayed on the jumbotron above. It clearly shows that while completely unintentional Lucy Hale while lunging at Song in close with a right hand to the torso pushes her head hard into Song’s head just above her nose and above her eye at the brow. Seeing it on the tron only sends Pointy into an even higher level of furious anger, an almost demented state. Lis Rohm is no longer able to control the size XL man and has stepped away while he puts on a clinic on how to imitate a full grown silverback gorilla unable to get at a bunch of bananas. Pointy is now moving back and forth on the apron pointing up to the tron and yelling at the ref at a level that has every vein located in his neck pulsating out like vines hanging from a tree. No longer able to keep control the referee points at Poindexter Del Crunchy and then in a waving motion to the locker room. That’s all for Pointy tonight as a cadre of ten security guards each equipped with taser guns at their waists marches down to collect the berserk Scotsman. Finally after one of the guards in a scene reminiscent of the movie Dog Day Afternoon talks Poindexter Del Crunchy out of single handedly tearing the arena apart girder by girder and the Scotsman marches out of the arena as the crowd is on its feet screaming their lungs out in support of Poindexter Del Crunchy or more probably a full scale riot breaking out.

Rd 7 The referee now back in control of the ring orders the continuation of the fight. Both fighters back out with Elisabeth Rohm in Song’s corner now and Brenda’s eyebrow butterflied to the maximum. Lucy gets back to jabbing and starts to score poking away at Song’s face. Song staying low keeping Hale away from her eye which is rapidly closing. Now it’s Song who has to backpedal and keep herself away from Hale but she’s visibly groggy and affected by the shot to the head. Hale has recovered from the previous rounds and with a crisp right hand catches Song to the chin…DOWN GOES SONG! Brenda just not the same and was clearly going through the motions this round. She takes a seat and with a dazed and confused look watches the ref count to ten. Winner Lucy Hale Rd 7 Knock Out!

After: Confusion reigns supreme in the ring with members of both clubs massing on either side of the ring. The crowd roaring encouragement totally in favor of a full club on club brawl breaking out. Pretty Little Punchers all standing in a row fully ready and able but hoping that they didn’t have to face off against the more muscular Bazz crew, welter weight champs Moon Bloodgood and Bridget Regan pacing back and forth like caged tigers and in effect doing very effective silent imitations of Poindexter Del Crunchy. Suddenly it’s Brenda Song herself that sows the peace wobbling across the ring and putting a hand on Lucy Hale’s shoulder. The two talk for a long moment one nodding in agreement while the other talks and then letting the other get in a word. As it turns out Brenda Song is aware that Lucy didn’t mean any harm with her impromptu and very accidental headbutt and in the end Lucy helps a dazed Brenda back across the ring meeting a Cassie Scerbo who gives the PLP fly a Dikembe Mutombo wave of her finger and a gentle slap on the shoulder and then takes over hauling a barely ambulatory Brenda Song back to her corner. “I feel real bad with how this turned out but Brenda told me that you have to take a win any way you can and that she could tell by the look on my face that the headbutt was accidental. It’s what happens in these rough and tumble fights. This was a physical one. You can’t apologize for this sort of thing though. It’s part of FCBA fighting and I told her that we can get back into the ring real soon with a rematch. Scerbo seemed good with it too so maybe I won’t be seeing any pudding in my future.” In fact the Pretty Little Puncher main email received a Bazz email with the entire Bazz club sitting on a huge couch eating pudding from a huge bowl with smiles on their faces and Brenda Song sitting in the middle with a bandaged eye. Underneath the caption “We got next PLP!”

Meanwhile the outcome of meetings regarding Poindexter Del Crunchy’s actions during the fight, his subsequent ejection and a report of the Scotsman challenging any four of the security guards to a cage match while giving one of the unfortunate arena employees what was described as a turbo dutchrub in the Bazz locker room had yet to be reported.
